“Shhhh! We’ll be caught if you keep talking like that!”
“Who can come to this part of the building at this hour?”
“You just never know. Walls have ears!”
“Lady, even if they have ears, why don’t you believe me? I am the company’s ears; what other ears do you require besides mine?” An arrogant masculine voice rang out, causing the female companion to exaggeratedly chuckle.
“Fine, fine, fine. You’ve got me there. So, tell me, what is the next step after this?” the lady asked, her tone tinged with concern.
“When the missions are finished, I will retire and spend the rest of my life in the countryside,” the male companion said, his voice full of enthusiasm.
The lady was obviously taken aback, and she exclaimed loudly for a second before remembering that they were meant to be meeting in secret and without being caught, “OMG! Are you serious?”
He looked at her as if she were an idiot and replied, “yes. I wouldn’t have said anything unless I was certain.”
