Chapter 7 - 7 The Trip to Fulfilment 2

“Was she kidnapped on her way home?” He pondered, and many thoughts found their ways to his troubled mind as a result of that thought.

“Where did the kidnappers keep her?”

“How many of them?”

“What would they be doing with her since last night?”

Instantly, he tried her number again, but it was not connecting. In the meantime, Louis was crying profusely. His domestic staff members, who noticed that something was wrong, could still not pin it anywhere.

“What could be bothering the boss?” the janitor asked the security guard.

“I wish I had an idea meanwhile, I feel we should find out.”

“I feel like that too, but he had locked his door.”

“Let us find out. He may need someone to talk to.”

“You are right.”

Nevertheless, they walked to the bedroom and knocked severally on the door, but there was no response. They looked at each other and decided to give him a call. Furthermore, they dialed his number, and the phone rang numerous times before it timed out. When they had exhausted every means of getting his attention, they set out to pull the door down, which was their last resort.

“We cannot watch him go through this and do nothing. We have to pull down the door,” the security guard pointed out. Now, the janitor nodded in acceptance, and in less than ten minutes, the door to Louis's room was down, and they rushed in.

“What!” They screamed in unison.

At Denise's Apartment

On Sunday morning, as early as 6 am, Mrs. Freya Anderson, Denise's elder sister and a mother of four-year-old Daniel, drove into the compound without hindrance because the security guard had left the gate open. Then, she parked, and got off her car. She looked at the unmanned gate and called out to the security guard, “John.”

Subsequently, the Security guard, who had been at the Boy's Quarters chatting with the janitor, appeared from the back of the house, and responded, “Yes, Mrs. Anderson. You are welcome.”

“Thank you, John. How are you?”

“I'm fine, Mrs. Anderson. Good to see you.”

“Why were you not at the gate, John?” Freya asked with a stern look.

“I'm sorry, Mrs. Anderson.”

“Why was the gate not locked? Are you sorry too?”

Instantly, John was speechless, and Mrs. Anderson continued, “Be careful, John. If you must leave the gate, make sure it is locked. Did you get me?”

“Noted Mrs. Anderson.”

“By the way, where is your boss? His car is not here.”

“He is off to work.”

“Wow! So early?” She asked, and looked at her wristwatch. Then, John corrected, "No, Mrs. Anderson. He left since yesterday. He is on PM Shift.”

“Oh. I see,” she said, and walked to the door and attempted to open it with her key, but to her surprise, she discovered that, the door was not locked. Then, she pushed the door and walked in. While inside the sitting room, she muttered, “Why did he leave the door to the main house open? This is quite unlike him.”

Nevertheless, she walked to the dining table, opened the dishes, and remarked, “He did not even eat before leaving for work.”

She hissed and climbed the staircase leisurely to the bedroom and was amazed, “A girl? In Denise's bedroom!” she exclaimed when she saw Olivia lying helplessly on the bed. Then she walked in to take a good look at her, but what she saw scared her out of her common sense.

“What?” She shouted. At once, and dropped her purse on the bed. Then, she rushed to her, raised her hand and attempted to lift her up.

“Oh my God. Why should Denise be so careless?” She asked aloud, and rushed Olivia to her car. Thereafter, she drove off hastily to her family doctor. Meanwhile, the two incautious domestic staff who Denise entrusted Olivia into their care, watched her as she drove off. They never had the wisdom to even give him a call and inform him of the latest.

At Freya's Family Clinic

“What is her name?” The nurse inquired when she attempted to fill the patient's card. Meanwhile, Freya hesitated, but the nurse insisted and repeated, “I mean her name, Mrs. Anderson.”

Howbeit, Freya reluctantly supplied a name that was suitable for Olivia looks. “Angel Denise,” she stated.

Instantly, the nurse filled out the form and left in a jiffy. Later, the doctor invited Freya to his office for a chat, and he encouraged.

“Mrs. Anderson, there is no cause for alarm. Everything is under control. She needs a lot of rest and kindly ensure that she takes her drugs. Let her eat more of fruits and vegetables. When you get home, give her a warm beverage and let her take a warm bath.”

“It is noted, doctor. I appreciate.”

“Good. Kindly collect her prescriptions from the pharmacy.”

“Thank you so much, doctor. We will be on our way.”

At that point, Olivia was starving, but she could walk. Then, she began to sob as Freya guided her to the car and encouraged her, “Stop crying, dear. Everything will be all right.”

At that moment, Olivia hated herself. Between Friday night and Sunday morning, she had passed through unexplainable trauma that she could not imagine. Meanwhile, Freya drove to the grocery shop and parked, she looked at the dejected Olivia, and announced, “Dear, excuse me. I will be back in a jiffy.”

Olivia nodded, and she attempted to dry the tears that were flowing uncontrollably down to her cheek. A few minutes later, Freya got out of the grocery shop with bags of fruits and beverages, joined Olivia in the car and drove off. After a while, she cast a glance at her and encouraged again, “Stop crying, my Angel. You will ruin your beautiful face.”

“Thank you, ma'am,” Olivia appreciated with a cold voice. Then, Freya got a call from her husband, Mr. Phil Anderson. Then, she was already at Denise's house. She parked, and picked her call, while Olivia looked on.

“Hello, hubby,” she greeted.

“Hello baby. Kindly get some candy for Daniel before you come back.”

“It is all right. See you later.”

“See you later.”

When they got into the house, Freya pushed the previous day's food which Denise had prepared for to a corner of the dining table and served her with hot tea, as her doctor instructed. Nevertheless, she sat beside her and urged her to take more, "Endeavor to finish your tea and take your prescription.”

Likewise, Olivia tried to be strong, she collected the drugs from her and took them obediently and appreciated, “Thank you ma'am.”

“You’re welcome. When you are through, you go to the bathroom and take a hot bath and afterward have a deep rest.”

“Thank you ma'am. Permit me to ask, where is the bathroom?” She inquired, and attempted to get up from the chair. As the case may be, Freya, who was not aware that she was not familiar with the house, looked at her in astonishment before she informed, “In the bedroom, of course.”

The confused Olivia got up and walked a bit before she asked again, “Sorry, ma'am. Please, where is the bedroom?”

At that point, Freya, was more surprised, but gave her the description all the same, "Walk into that corridor, take a left turn, you will see a staircase that leads to the bedroom. Wait, I will show you,” she volunteered, but Olivia stopped her, "Thanks ma'am. Don't bother, I will be fine.”

She followed her description, and walked to the bedroom, leaving Freya alone in the parlor. Then, she began to imagine all she could about the situation.

'So Denise has a girl, and he would not even let me or Mom know about it. Guys of nowadays! They are so smart and secretive. But I like his choice. She is beautiful, despite her condition. I gave her that name at the hospital because she looked like an Angel. I know Mom would like her too.'
