Arlen refrained from using his true power but chose to fight. He whisked Moon into a sword and launched himself at the creature. He had to fight smart. Since the monster was not interested in the rest, Luca had his handful trying to keep it away from him.
Without warning, the creature lunged at Arlen, its pointy tail slashing through the air. Arlen reacted with surprising agility, dodging the attack and countering with a powerful punch to the creature's jaw. The impact sent ripples across the water, and a faint crack echoed in the air. Luca's eyes widened in awe, but he quickly shook himself out of it and faced the monster. Outnumbered, the strange beast gave up on the snack and fled.
The soldiers believed they had conquered it, but Arlen knew it was merely injured. The creature was only going to recuperate, then come back for him.
