Trey's House
"You remember what you're supposed to do?" Alexandra asked Jasper, the man Billy had tasked to get her to the meeting place safely. She was checking the diaper bag she'd put together hastily to make sure she had everything she needed.
"Yeah. I go in with you and make it obvious I'm your guard," he said, his eyes flicking to the road as he made a left turn. "Then you text him, give me a ridiculous excuse, and I wait while you leave.
"When you don't appear after ten minutes, I start 'looking all over' for you, and speak to Billy on the phone, stressing how stupid I was to have lost you." He looked at her in rear view mirror, pouting. "Do I really have to call myself stupid?"
She buddy tapped him on the shoulder twice. "I believe it's necessary. It was Billy's idea anyway so you might want to take it up with him when you get back."
