Trey's Security Base

(P. S. This chapter gives insight to the things that happened in the background of the previous chapter... like Trey's reaction to Melissa's probing and what Lexi was doing when Mel left for the kitchen... and a little additional something.)
"Spit it out." The girl behind the desk paged Billy, telling them the device was on and in use.
"Huh?" Lexi asked back, the same moment Trey, Billy and Mitchell got to her, putting on headphones.
"... it out," Melissa repeated.
"Spit what out?" Lexi had muttered in confusion.
"Oh come on. Tell me what happened," Mel requested in a high voice which had Trey giving Mitch a look. She was nervous, he realized.
"What on earth are you talking about?" Lexi asked exasperated. "Tell me straight up what you mean. I'm confused," she said.
"She might shut Melissa out if she goes on like this," Trey muttered.
