There was an odd haze to the garden, a fog. Noah walked down the garden, his feet caressing the lush grass; the blades in the ground passed through his toes leaving them with a tingling sensation. As he walked, he encountered a lake of clear, fresh water. He kneeled in front of it and tried to stare at his own reflection but when he did the lake rippled and the image went blurry, so instead he took a mouthful of the water. He continued walking now towards a tall oak tree with long leaves that formed an umbrella that didn't let light pierce in. Noah walked around hand extended to feel the entire tree. The bark was harsh and rugged but it had a hollow feel as if there was no one behind the costume; The leaves were soft, green, and thin, with a veiny, gelatinous feel. A small hole of light pierced through the umbrella of leaves, landing safely on Noah's face. It was warm, with a slight burning sensation; Noah opened his mouth, allowing the light to get in. It was a filling, a light soup of warmth; The vitality, the surge of energy it injected into his body. It gave him a sense of new life.
From the back of the garden, behind the tree, was a figure. They were in a red robe, they were a woman. They were - Danielle, Noah thought.
He sprinted through the garden towards her, slowing down when he got closer. He slowly approached her and nervously extended his hands to her face. His hand skimmed through her face and lips. Danielle wore vibrant red lipstick but didn't wear too much, just enough to color it. The world around Noah turned into a blur as he felt the texture of Danielle's ears. He stroked her hair, that thick chestnut hair; it went from her head to under her ears, forming a soft cusp at the front. Moving her hair back, Noah looked at her eyes, she was looking at her with a passion. Noah's heart was beating faster every second, he went for a kiss and Danielle responded in the suit. They explore each other's tongues, a passionate display of their love; Danielle started removing Noah's clothes while Noah removed her robe. They hugged in the nude, in the wide open garden. Suddenly a heavy torrent of water fell exactly on top of them, drenching them whole, but that didn't stop them; Even as water flowed through their bodies, Noah simply gripped Danielle tighter by the back.
He moved his mouth towards Danielle's neck, a soft moan escaped her. He grabbed her breasts, he waist, her legs, his passion turning into anxiety, his heart about to explode. He tried to lift her, but his breathing was failing, turning faster every second, so he returned to anxiously kissing Danielle, with him holding her left leg off to his waist and she holding him tightly by the neck. The day was stained with bloody red, the sky took a grid-like pattern; a siren blared through the garden. Noah's breath sped up, no longer capable to kiss his wife, he started hyperventilating. He let her leg go and hugged her tightly, harshly resting his head on her wife's shoulder. His body slumped and fell to the ground, he was now kneeling; he held Danielle for dear life around by the waist, crying for her, wanting her. The water from the torrent on top of them didn't allow him to open his eyes, Danielle on the other hand had her eyes open. She covered her face
"Danielle! Danielle!," Noah cried 'Help me please! PLEASE, HELP ME!"
The water above them turned into blood, staining Noah's face and sandy blonde hair. The green leaves of the oak tree went black and all fell from their branches leaving it bare. Danielle was drenched in blood, and just like Noah, it streamed from her open eyes like tears. She squatted down, her left arm on a leg, grabbed Noah by his hair, and pulled him up to her face. She smiled, her teeth stained with blood. She kissed Noah intensely, cruising her tongue in his mouth. She licked his face, cleaning the blood off, only to spit it back on his face. Danielle looked at Noah like a helpless dog, a hateful pity on her face, her eyes red from the blood. Noah couldn't open his eyes, he couldn't face her.
"You don't get to die now," Danielle said emotionless "You must live"
By now a puddle had formed under Noah. Danielle crashed his face on the ground but instead of getting hit or hurt, he sank. He was drowning.
"Where are you, Noah?" Dani looked down at him "WHERE ARE YOU!?"
As Noah drowned, the sound of sirens deepened and DAV's voice came through
+ Alert. Alert. A crew member is drowning + it said
Dani whispered "Remember, Noah. Remember who you are. You're a killer"
Noah screamed himself out of the nightmare and to the ship. He gasped for air, coughing the disgusting liquid, unable to move as he was still hooked to the needles of the cryo chamber. He breathed anxiously, fast, and heavily. He could hear his own heart beating like a gong being shot by a machine gun. The chamber whirred and he felt an injection being placed on his body. A relaxant. Noah's breathing slowed down, and so did his heart.
The chamber was still close, and his mask was on. The liquid of the chamber had been released. His nosepiece was off.
Noah rested his head, still unable to move. He used his thumb to feel his ring finger.
It was a nightmare. Only a nightmare. A short glance of Danielle's face flashed on his head. Her blood-drenched face and smile as she looked down on him, as she drowned him.
It had only been a nightmare.
