Chapter 75 - Julian vs Julian [3]

Julian could not stop shaking. He sat down in his wooden bunker, hidden deep in the forest. It blended in with the forest greenery, covered in moss and fungi. It was slightly sunken into the ground. Was this perhaps his base of operation?

He sat on the floor, his back leaning against the wall. Three items lay next to him. The first item was a short dagger with no remarkable features to it. The second item was some bandages.

The third item was a sword. It was around Julian's height, a few inches shorter. Light and easy to swing, but sure to cause some damage.

There was a loud noise coming from outside. Like stomping.

Julian cut his finger with the dagger to stop the shaking. He got outside of the bunker.

It was raining.

Crck!

 — It's coming. It's coming, it's coming, it's coming!

Clang!

Julian's dagger swiped up, as Tou's great sword headed towards him. It diverted Tou upwards.

[Cast: Perfect Lightning]

Tou was struck back downwards into the dirt.

"Ack!-"

"Heh! Now that I've had some time to prepare, it's over for you, boy."

"That girl, who could apply pressure... you should've fought with her. If all three of you fought together, there could've been a chance."

Tou slowly pulled himself out of the dirt.

"You're getting way too cocky."

[Cast: Perfect Enhancement: x2]

The environment around Julian began to crack and lose structure, as he leaped toward Tou.

Tou quickly raised his sword. You could see the alarm in his face, for the first time.

He blocked the quick attack.

"This is no good."

Tou retreated. He split his sword in half, making it two.

"Bone-splitting, spinning top!" he yelled. He started spinning.

"...Huh? Are you not taking me seriously?"

Tou moved fast, and very randomly. He couldn't be predicted at all.

Julian was struck in the hip.

"Shit!-"

Another cut at the back of his neck.

He quickly held onto the back of his neck.

Tou was bouncing all over the place, from tree to tree. Like a pinball game.

[Cast: Flawless Foresight]

Julian's iris started to glow red.

Tou came from the left.

Julian took out his dagger, parrying. It stopped his rotation.

[Cast: Perfect Lightning]

Julian raised his sword to the air. He caught the lightning, spinning to continue the momentum, and struck Tou.

A heavy hit. Tou flew into a nearby tree.

"Keuk!-"

Tou quickly recovered and zipped toward Julian. He swiped at Julian, with both swords. Kind of like a pair of scissors.

A fast attack. But it was easily evaded.

"Eh?"

Tou sliced at Julian's neck, again.

"Too slow."

Julian kicked Tou in the back, sending him into the floor.

[Cast: Perfect Lightning Hold]

A bolt of lightning struck down on his sword. But this time, instead of releasing the energy, he held it.

Tou threw both of his swords at Julian.

"Are you an idiot? Throwing away your only weapons."

With Julian's [Foresight], he could see around 1 second into the future at every moment.

"I don't need 'em anyways."

"?!"

A mighty uppercut sent Julian into a daze. He fell back, before regaining his footing.

"I think I'm a lot better with my fists. Though, it's hard with such a height difference."

Tou kicked Julian, in the face. His head flew back, with blood leaking out of his nose.

He lost the grip on his hands for a second until he quickly grabbed his sword and dagger again.

Tou threw a wide swing.

Julian ducked, climbing onto Tou's shoulder. He wrapped his legs around Tou's neck.

He held his sword, ready to stab down into Tou's head.

Tou grabbed him by the leg, swinging him around. He then threw Julian into the air.

[Cast: Fist of Perfection]

Energy formed around Julian's arms.

He descended at an alarming pace, as Tou jumped up.

They clashed.

A huge gust of wind and energy blew through the entire continent of Fershingan.

Julian's strength overpowered Tou at that moment. Tou was sent to the ground.

Bssh!

Julian fell as well with him, though his fall was a lot more graceful.

Tou rested there, heavily injured.

Julian smirked. The energy around him dissipated, and his eyes lost their glow.

"Jeez. To think I almost lost there."

Kchk!-

A sword pierced through Julian's chest.

"Did you seriously think I was going to die that easily?"

Julian slowly turned his head, feeling the life fade from his body. He collapsed.
