"Next stop, Graxburg City," the train's announcement echoed through the carriage.
Upon hearing the announcement, Alex turned to Violet, who appeared deeply lost in her own thoughts, oblivious to her surroundings. Wanting to avoid rudeness, Alex gently said, "I'll be get off at the next stop."
Violet snapped back to reality, her mind returning from its wandering state. She responded to Alex, "I'll be getting off at the next stop too."
Violet suggested, "Where would you go in Gaxbrux? If you're going to the shore, we could share a hovercraft."
'I don't even know what I'll do in Gaxbrux,' Alex thought and politely rejected Violet's offer.
As they departed from the train and made their way into the city, Alex heard Violet's strange farewell.
"Good luck with whatever you're going to do, and stay strong," Violet said while gesturing with her hand and left.
Observing Violet's departure, Alex couldn't help but think, 'She seems like a truly lovely and kind-hearted person.'
Alex glanced at his watch and noticed that it was nearly 1 p.m. Thoughts raced through his mind as he wondered, 'Where are we supposed to meet? The mission details didn't specify it.'
Just as the clock struck 1 p.m., a notification chimed in Alex's earpiece.
[Agent Kirf invites you to a secure communication channel.]
Alex accepted the invitation and waited in anticipation.
"Agent Silas, do you copy, over?" a deep and commanding voice echoed.
The peculiar military-style communication left Alex feeling perplexed. He couldn't help but question, 'Is it truly necessary to speak this way?'
Despite his reservations, he decided to conform and replied, "Affirmative, over."
"BW has prepared a temporary identity and other necessary items for your operation. I have sent you the location, over."
Alex checked his smartwatch and discovered a message from Agent Kirf in the BW application. He clicked on it and found that the message contained a location near him: the train station bathrooms.
'It's surprisingly in such a simple place,' Alex thought to himself as he headed towards the bathroom.
Just as he was about to enter, Alex paused, startled by Agent Kirf's voice once again.
"I have also assigned you to the first phase of your Knight Acceptance Mission, over."
'First phase? I thought it was just going to be one mission,' Alex pondered, but he refrained from objecting.
He remembered the golden rule: "Never ever object to your superiors."
After realizing the communication channel had closed again, Alex decided to set aside the mission details for now and proceeded into the bathroom.
According to the location and instructions on how to access the package that BW left, Alex headed to the third cubicle and entered.
Alex looked at the object that appeared to be an advanced type of closet.
'Where is the closet cover?' Alex thought after seeing the instructions that indicated the package was inside the closet cover.
After some struggle, Alex finally found the closet cover and took out the package that BW had placed there.
Inside the package, Alex found an ID, money, and a key.
Alex continued to read the instructions from where he had left off. It stated that he needed to take on the appearance of the person on the ID and use the money on the debit card for his needs.
As Alex glanced at the key, he thought, 'They've even arranged accommodation for me.'
Alex looked at the ID and saw a picture of a boy around his age but different from him. He had brown short hair and yellow eyes, and for some reason, he had a girlish cuteness.
'Who even arranged this ID?' Alex pondered.
Realizing that his business had finished there, Alex first activated his items, changing his appearance to that of the person on the ID.
Alex decided, 'First, I should find a place to get myself a coffee and study the mission instructions,' and headed outside.
In a coffee shop near the train station, Alex sat down and checked his mission instructions:
[Gather Intel about Gaxbrux City and the individuals Francis Mullen and Jack Reed.]
Upon realizing that his mission was solely focused on gathering intel, Alex thought to himself, 'This shouldn't be too difficult.'
Just as Alex was about to take another sip of his coffee, he suddenly froze upon spotting the name "Jack Reed" at the end of the document.
For a brief moment, he froze in place before snapping out of his trance upon noticing a few onlookers who were observing his peculiar behavior.
Attempting to regain his composure, he casually continued sipping his coffee as though nothing had happened.
'Could this be the same Jack Reed mentioned in the TOC?' Alex pondered, his mind retracing the details from his previous readings. He mentally organized all the information he had gathered about Jack Reed.
'Jack Reed, a side character, a former Lesser, a freedom fighter, and a member of the main cast of TOC,' Alex mentally recited, recalling as much as he could.
In TOC, the term "Lesser" is used to identify people who can't awaken or have not yet awakened.
'In the TOC, in the backstory of Jack Reed, it states that Jack had not only participated but also led numerous riots across the Tier 1 cities.'
'But the reason for Jack's actions was never mentioned in the TOC,' Alex added.
'Why did Jack decide to start a riot all over the world?' Alex pondered, unable to find a reason, so he just dropped the matter for now and contemplate further.
'Could this be the city where Jack Reed first became a freedom fighter?'
