"How dare that girl, Gillian defy me so openly after I've told her that I don't agree with Milla's desire to make movies?" Myrtle asked herself as she sat in front of the mirror in the hair salon.
"And then Rose encourages Mishka to carry on with her strange dreams and aspirations as well. They shouldn't test me," Myrtle continued with her eyes narrowed fiercely.
"So, you're going to look a few years younger now with all the grey covered," Julie, the hairdresser commented.
"I just want to feel like my old self again, just for this particular occasion," Myrtle responded, turning her head from side to side to admire the colour.
"So, it's not going to be long-term then?" Julie asked as she fingered Myrtle's hair to see if all the grey was covered.
"No, I'm not going to keep it up, but if I have a similar occasion some time again soon, I will be back here," Myrtle promised with a smile.
"Hopefully I can soon be attending my granddaughter's engagement party," she told herself on the inside.
Myrtle hoped that Mishka would meet someone who would knock her off her feet at the ball.
"Then she can give up her ideas of going into the world and singing from one country to the next. It's a very strange kind of life to embark on and I won't allow it," Myrtle told herself with her lips pressed firmly in a straight line.
"Oh, they told me I would find you here!" Myrtle heard behind her as she was still admiring her hair. She turned around to see Rose walking towards her with her eyes wide in surprise.
"Oh, hi, there Rose," Myrtle replied. She inwardly hoped that Rose was not about to discuss anything confidential in front of the hairdresser.
"You've given me a good idea. I'm going to have the auburn in my hair revived as well," Rose responded.
"Can I have an appointment before Saturday?" she asked Julia with her head tilted to the side and a polite smile on her lips.
"I can squeeze you in on Friday," Julie replied.
"That's wonderful! It will really make me feel good again as well," Rose commented as she smiled at Myrtle's reflection in the mirror.
"Great for you," Myrtle responded with her eyebrows raised in amusement.
"I will wait for you, then we can walk out together," Rose remarked before taking a seat amongst the other clients who were waiting for attendance.
When Myrtle and Rose walked out of the hair salon a while later, Myrtle's hair was shining and dark.
"It does make you look much younger, I must say," Rose commented as she took another glance at Myrtle hair.
"Who's that girl over there? She's looking directly at us," Myrtle suddenly stated with a nod at someone across the street.
"That blonde lady?" Rose asked.
"Yes, her. It looks as if she's openly staring at us," Myrtle remarked as she stood still, staring back at the blonde.
"Maybe she's admiring your hair, but then she doesn't know you, so why should she? She doesn't know how your hair looked before," Rose responded as she studied the girl who was still not moving from her spot.
"It's as if she does somehow know one of us. That, or she thinks that she knows us," Myrtle remarked as she frowned at the girl.
"It's rather daring to stare at us so boldly," Rose remarked as she began to walk away from the hair salon.
"Let's hope that there's not something seriously wrong with her. I don't need a crazy person following me around," Myrtle remarked as she walked on as well.
"I hope she doesn't follow us, thinking that one of us is someone that she knows," Rose remarked. She then turned around and looked at the spot where the blonde was staring.
"She's not there anymore," Myrtle commented after she also turned around.
Rose looked everywhere around herself.
"No, it seems like she's gone," she remarked shaking her head.
"I was thinking that it would be a great bonus if Mishka could meet someone charming at this party on Saturday, since she does want to attend," Myrtle remarked with a smile which made her eyes twinkle.
"Oh, there you go again, getting your hopes up. That girl wants and needs only her music," Rose responded, laughing at Myrtle's idea.
"There's always a reason to hope. I will for as long as I have breath inside of me," Myrtle responded with her chin raised confidently.
"Oh, wait! I think I've seen that girl somewhere before. At some gathering or another," Rose announced as she stood still, staring down at the pavement. She tried hard to think.
"What? You think you now her?" Myrtle asked, frowning in confusion. She then turned around to see if she could spot the blonde again.
"Then, why doesn't she just come over and say something?" Myrtle continued as she stared at the spot where the girl was standing a few moments ago.
"Maybe she's shy, but I have a strange feeling about her," Rose commented as she began to walk further.
"Then I'm going to take the trouble to go and look into it. I will go and investigate on my own," Myrtle replied. Thinking about her crystal ball which was hidden away in her bedroom.
"I'm almost sure that she's a wolf," Rose remarked. "I sort of have a vague memory about something like that, but yes, I have seen her before," Rose remarked, nodding her head in firm conviction of her conclusion.
"A werewolf?" Myrtle whispered into Rose's ear.
"Most definitely. I can sense it in my blood and bones.
I do remember seeing her and someone saying something like that about her. It's becoming clearer to me by the minute, now," Rose said as she frowned deeply in focus.
"So, are you saying that we might have been followed to the salon by a werewolf?" Myrtle asked.
"I think she is one and there should be quite a few at the ball on Saturday as well. In disguise, of course," Rose remarked, shrugging and walking on.
"Then this girl could show up there as well, if she is a wolf," Myrtle responded. "I hope she's not planning on harming anyone," she added with a concerned frown on her brow.
"I don't think that she would do anything daring," she seems too afraid to come closer. A bit of a coward, you know," Rose remarked as she glanced back again.
"She was staring quite boldly a while ago. Like some psycho stalker," Myrtle remarked.
"I'm just saying that if she is following us, it might be on someone else's instruction. She can only be spying for someone else if she does not come close to tell us what she wants," Rose remarked.
"Then we have to go and find out who and what she and her accomplice are," Myrtle remarked as she began to walk with brisk steps.
"Where, at my home or yours?" Rose asked with an eager glint in her eyes.
"Let's go to your place first and if we don't see anything from there, then we can go and find out about this girl at my home, in my bedroom.
But, I hope we can check her out at your home. There are too many nosey servants at the mansion," Myrtle responded.
"By the way, when are you going to your own home for a change? Aren't you getting tired of not having the final say in important issues?" Rose asked as she walked along to the parking area.
"Are you suggesting that I investigate this girl from my own home, far away?" Myrtle asked with her eyes stretched wide and her brows raised high with offense. Was Rose trying to get her out of the way?
