Milla inhaled deeply before speaking.
"Anyway, I was thinking that we could add more life to the movie script and make it exciting by getting actors to start acting out some parts of it. Can you think about that, please?" she asked before rushing inside after Grace, the cook.
"Now, when am I gonna sing when we're talking about the movie now?" Mishka asked herself. She had expected to practice her song on the porch again this evening, but then Gillian and Milla had surprised her.
"That's a good idea! We'll definitely do that!" Gillian called after Milla.
"Well, what do you think? Who can we ask to act in this little movie of ours?" Gillian asked, looking at Mishka, her eyes glinting with excitement.
"I wonder if the wolf streak is laying dormant in Joan's blood stream and then it comes up in her daughter, even if it didn't happen to her, as a mother?" Mishka wondered as she looked at Gillian's eyes.
"Hey, are you listening to me?" Gillian asked with an amused smile on her face. "You're somewhere else, it seems," she added with a mischievous giggle.
"Oh, sorry, I was just thinking about my song, but yes. It's a good idea to start thinking about actors to make the script come to life. We will have to use people we know of course, because we don't want strangers stumbling onto family secrets by mistake," Mishka remarked with a finger pressed into her cheek and her eyes narrowed as she tried to focus on the question.
"Alright, but then these people will still have to swear to keep silent about any confidential family facts which might crop up," Gillian agreed with a slow nod as she tried to think of possible actors.
"It will have to be from amongst our friends and loyal acquaintances, of course," Mishka responded, wagging her finger for emphasis.
"Yes and what about technicians? We won't be able to do everything ourselves, you know?" Gillian asked, studying Mishka's facial expression.
"I think we should keep it amongst ourselves in the beginning and keep it as short as possible. We don't want anything big because we're actually just trying to find out the truth about my grandmother and her past interests," Mishka responded in a low tone of voice.
"Do you think that there could be a few more of your grandmother's circle of fortune-tellers who're still alive?" Gillian asked with her eyes narrowed as she tried to think.
"That's what I hope to find out at the ball," Mishka responded, raising an eyebrow in amusement.
"It should be such fun and adventure. I think it will be like a Halloween party or something like that?" Gillian asked.
"Oh, yes, unless the guests are not going to wear costumes. My grandmother said nothing about that," Mishka responded as she rose from her chair.
"I think I should go with you. I can just dress up as a sexy brunet with blue eye lenses and a pitch black, long-haired wig," Gillian remarked as she glanced at Mishka and nodded her head in agreement to her own idea.
"Your mother is already going to be my companion for the night and she will be dressed as a man. That's what she suggested just a few moments ago," Mishka remarked as she picked up her bag.
"My Mom?" Gillian exclaimed in surprise.
"Ladies, it's time for dinner. They're waiting for you in the dining room," Milla announced, peeping out of the kitchen at that moment.
"Oh, thanks, Milla. Time flies," Mishka responded.
"Please, stay for dinner?" she asked Gillian who was also picking up her handbag from the table.
"Yes, come, then we will have two unexpected guests for dinner," Milla responded with a bright smile on her face.
"Two unexpected guests? Who's the other one?" Mishka asked, frowning in surprise. Nobody had informed her about them having a guest over for dinner.
"I hope it isn't one of Grandma's suitors for me?" she asked.
"No, nothing like that. Definitely no match-making. It's Miss Rose who showed up a few minutes ago," Milla responded with an amused smile on her face.
"Rose?" Mishka and Gillian asked at the same time.
"Doesn't she only visit in the mornings?" Gillian asked, frowning in confusion.
"You mean, like someone who's afraid of the dark?" Milla asked with a giggle.
"What if she's actually a night person? Maybe she also likes going out at night?" Milla continued with a shrug.
"Well, it must be because I went to pay her a visit," Mishka commented as she tried to think of a reason for Rose's visit.
"I hope she doesn't think that I've made progress about finding her son," she added with her brows raised and a look of terror on her face.
"Don't be afraid of her. Just you keep thinking about the movie that we're making. Keep your mind on that during dinner," Gillian advised with a perky smile on her face.
"Yes, think about the movie," Milla agreed before heading back into the kitchen.
"We need action scenes for it. We're gonna have to do something in the woods," Mishka remarked.
"And we need a big, old house which looks haunted," Gillian added with her eyes narrowed in focus.
"I'm already spooked by Grandma's chanting at night. I don't still want to go into a spooky, dark house," Mishka responded, shaking her head with a dismal look in her eyes.
"What if I can find a house like that? It will make the movie look more real, you know?" Gillian asked.
"We'll discuss this later. Maybe in the basement after dinner?" Mishka suggested over her shoulder as she walked towards the kitchen.
"Yes, we should check out the new video footage," Gillian agreed, lowering her gaze.
"I hope that Rose doesn't freak me out. You say she sounds as if she loses it now and then?" Gillian asked next with a frown as she walked behind Mishka.
"Are you afraid that she could be worse at night?" Mishka asked with a frown as she stopped, just inside the kitchen.
"Oh, yes. That can give us a sleepless night, you know? It was still in the afternoon when you visited her, but now it's after dark," Gillian replied.
"Are you thinking about skipping dinner then?" Mishka asked just above a whisper.
"I don't know. I'm just thinking about what you said about her, you know? The sudden mood changes and so on," Gillian replied with a worried frown between her brows.
"Then maybe you should wait for me in the nursery down in the basement. I won't be long at dinner. I can join you soon and bring some food down for you," Miska suggested, looking at Gillian with a hopeful light in her eyes.
"Down in the basement by myself?" Gillian whispered in response.
"Do you know what Milla and I saw on the video earlier? We couldn't watch the rest, so we rushed out of there," she continued with a shudder as she rubbed her upper arms for comfort.
