"Parents love their children"
"More than anything else"
"But for him they were murderers"
"Didn't deserve to be forgiven"
The motion of the car stopped and outside was the large mansion. The same metal black gate and the same huge whitewashed building. It was just how it used to be when she left. Not a change or difference in anything. She took out her luggage and took it inside and the first person who she spotted was her friend Minnie. Minnie instantly left her work when she saw Jurin and came out of the kitchen to meet her.
"Hey"she said happily with a smile. She wore normal clothes and looked nothing special but those who were in the living room with Louis were surely special.
"Happy to see me?"Jurin asked picking up her luggage when Minnie stopped her. The maid signalled a gaurd to come there and asked him to take Jurin's stuff to the room.
"Why did you do that?. I could have taken it by myself"
"That's because I need you in the kitchen"Minnie said and started to walk towards the kitchen.
"Life is only about work, work and work"Jurin muttered and followed Minnie into the kitchen. She handed Jurin the tea which was meant to be given to the guests in the living room. Jurin took the tray and made her way to where Louis and his guests were. Before she entered the room she saw the faces of the two people whom she had never seem before. A man who wore a gray cap on his head. The scalp underneath that cap had black with gray hairs taking some part of hid scalp. He wore a jacket and due to his weak eyesight he used specs. Behind the shield of the lens were his brown eyes. His shoes were black and pants were also of the same colour. His skin was tan.On the other hand the lady who was his wife had blond hair and the prettiest sky blue eyes. Despite being in her old age the lady had fair white skin and very few wrinkles. She was wearing a peach top and light brown pumps. All the threads of her hair were in a loose braid. They seemed like a normal couple and were talking about many things but their middle child didn't seem interested in his parents discussion. He was silent and was continuously looking at the ground where a carpet was spreaded.
As Jurin handed him the cup he looked up and saw her. He got surprised to see her instead of Minnie as he had no idea she was going to come back today.
"Also Louis Nicholas has found himself his life partner" his mother told him about his elder brother's girlfriend to whom he would get married soon.
"Good for him" Louis said emotionlessly. He would be happy for him but there was something bothering him inside and he wanted his parents to point it out.
"Marissa is a really pretty and educated girl."Mr Robert further told Louis. Jurin went away from the place with an empty tray while the rest continued their talks.
"And she also knows how to cook. What else can we ask for?" Mrs Robert placed the cup on the center table and took a tissue to wipe the few drops of tea which fell on her dress by accident.
"Louis dear what happened?. Are you okay?" Mrs Robert being his mother knew there was something wrong with her son but perhaps she was a mother who would never accept her mistake and Mr Robert was also not different from her. From the start they wanted their kids to understand them and their wishes but never did they try to understand what their kids wanted.
"Yeah iam fine. Just tired" He lied to them and putted his hands in the pocket of his coat.
"We are thinking about settling the date of their wedding next month. You will be coming right?" His mom looked at him with hopeful eyes.
" Louis was Nicholas's brother and would surely join his wedding " was what she thought but the mafia king's answer was exact opposite.
"I would be busy so I don't think I would be able to come in his wedding"
"Louis you are joking right?. How can you miss your brother's wedding because of this business of yours?" His father spoke out. He wasn't going to accept Louis's absence in Nicholas's wedding. He was the most important member of their family. Louis was something which both of his parents would brag about. People knew that their son was a mafia king because of which they feared them and they would get many privileges.
"I also missed my sister's wedding because of this business" Louis said calmly and stretched his arms but their was a fire inside of him. At this moment he finally made his parents realize the real cause of his strange replies and behaviour.
"Louis you still have not forgotten that?"Mrs Robert asked her son. It took the entire family some time to heal from the horrible incident but eventually they all started to walk on their everyday paths and began to do what they were doing before. They all erased it as if it never existed. Not a tongue spoke about it and the name of their youngest child was cutted off from the family tree.
"Was it something so easy to forget!?" Louis asked them and rose up from the couch.
"Listen Louis we told you before and we tell you now that we were unknown of the monster which lied inside him. If we knew then we would have never given him Renae's responsiblity."
"I asked you before and I ask you now why did you give her life in the hands of that evil man?" Louis questioned them. His voice reached the ears of those who were outside. He knew the answer to his own question and so did those who raised him.
"Favouritism" was the answer.
"Louis what do you think?. It wasn't hard for us?" Mrs Robert asked out aloud
"She was also our daughter and we loved her but at that time we were trying to secure a good future for Nicholas" she explained to him but Louis wasn't going to listen to her this easily. He sighed and decided to end the meeting by saying
"Mom I will try my best to come in Nicholas's wedding but I will never forget Renae and what you two did with her" Louis stepped out of the living room leaving his parents stressed and Mr Robert started to feel his bloodpressure become high.
"What do I do to please him? .I can't bring her back from the dead?" The lady held her head and her husband who sat beside her turned to her
"His words are making me believe that we made the wrong choice for Renae" Mr Robert took his cap from his head and placed it on the couch to scratch his hairless head.
"We just didn't knew" And once again she denied their mistake. They said sorry and forgave themselves without knowing if the soul of their youngest forgave them or not.
-------------------------------------------
Jurin and Minnie were in the kitchen after the guests had left. They were preparing dinner when Jurin asked
"Why was Louis shouting?"her mind thought that the guests must have said something wrong and made Louis temper's go high but the response wasn't what she expected
"Ofcourse how could he forgive his parents for what they did?" Minnie squeezed the lemon on the salad and its drops of the sour juice fell on the cutted vegetables in the plate.
"Parents?" Jurin looked at her in shock. By judging Jurin's expression Minnie was able to understand that she probably didn't match their features with Louis. He had his father's brown eyes and his mother's blonde hair. His skin colour was more similar to his mother.
"Yeah they were his parents. Also go give this cofee to him" she pointed at the mint green cup placed on the shelf which was filled with a hot beverage.
"Didn't he just have tea a while ago?"
"He didn't drink it and it was all cold. Now go before the same happens with the cofee" and so as Minnie cooked the food Jurin went to deliver the drink to Louis. However he wasn't in the dining room and neither was he in the living room. When she didn't find him at his usual places she asked a guard who told her
"Sir Louis is in the natatorium"the guard told her making her ask in confusion
"What's that?" She wanted a simple and straightforward answer and she never heard this word from anybody's mouth.
"He is in the pool" the guard told her and mouthing something he went his way. Jurin who still had the cup of cofee went to the natatorium. There was a glass door infront of her and behind it she could see Louis. He was sitting at he edge of the pool. His coat and shirt on the white chair next to a plastic table on which nothing was placed. He only wore a white vest and he was wet. His back was visible and his feet were in the water of the pool. He had dived in the pool some time ago and now was sitting there being drenched in the liquid. Jurin opened the door and he turned behind to see her. This time Jurin saw the resemblance between him and his parents.
"Your cofee"she said and he flipped his wet hair to the back.
"Place it on the table"she did as he said when he called her
"Jurin"she faced him who was playing with the water splashing it here and there like a little kid but in the end the water would go back in the pool. Jurin was waiting for him to say something as the silence was queer.
"Sit down"he spoke and Jurin pulled the chair when he stopped her by saying
"Not there but here"he tapped the tile by which he meant that he wanted her to sit next to him. He wanted her to sit close to him.
"Is everything alright?"Jurin asked him as her mind was lost in thoughts.
"What were his intentions?"
"Or what did he want to say to her?" She was questioning herself as Louis started
"Don't worry i just need to say a few things to you and if you feel uncomfortable then you can sit on the chair" Hearing this Jurin seated herself on the chair and began to patiently wait for Louis to start talking. She would prefer keeping some distance from him knowing he has anger issues but he sounded calm and not mad. He felt dejected at that time and had something to say.
Maybe what he was about to say was more than just simple talks. It was something he would never say to anyone and even if he would there would be no sincerity in it. It was the first time the mafiaking was going to say these words to a person of lower status than his. Becuase it was even hard for him to say this to those of the same status and power as him. The question for Jurin was
"What was he going to say?"
