Chapter 9 - STARRY NIGHT

The Princess lay on her bed, her body wracked with sobs as she buried her face in the soft pillow. Her long hair, usually styled perfectly, was now in disarray, tangled and unkempt. Her eyes were red and swollen, and her face was streaked with tears. She felt utterly alone and helpless like she was suffocating under the weight of her responsibilities. She longed for an escape, to be free of her royal duties and the expectations that came with them. For the first time in her life, she felt trapped and hopeless.

As she cried, the world outside her room seemed to fade away, and she was lost in her thoughts. Time passed in a blur, and she wasn't sure how long she lay there, weeping. But then, she heard a faint tapping sound at the window. She looked up to see Donovan. He sat quietly on the windowsill, his long legs dangling outside as he gazed out at the starry night sky.

Iris hesitated for a moment, her heart racing with fear and uncertainty. But then, she took a deep breath. "What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. The man shrugged, a small smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Just enjoying the view," he said, gesturing to the starry sky above.

As Iris spoke, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know we come from different worlds," she said, her eyes fixed on the stars above. "But I can't help feeling drawn to you. There's something about you that's so mysterious and captivating."She looked up at him, her eyes filled with pain " I just feel so lost and hopeless. I don't belong here," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

The man turned his head towards her, his piercing gaze locking onto hers, and spoke in a low, gentle tone. "I feel the same way," he said, his words laced with sincerity. The Princess looked up at him with wide, glistening eyes, her heart fluttering with hope and uncertainty. "Do you truly believe so?" she asked, her voice wavering slightly.

He leaned in closer, his voice urgent and filled with conviction. "From the moment I was fated to you, I knew that there was something special. You possess a rare thing that draws me closer to you with every passing moment." They both sat there, lost in their thoughts, savoring the moment.

Suddenly, Iris stood up, her gaze fixed intently on him. "I have something I need to tell you," she said, her voice trembling slightly. Donovan looked up at her, intrigued by her sudden shift in demeanor. "What is it?" he asked, a playful smirk on his lips.

Taking a deep breath, Iris spoke her truth with a quick, nervous energy. "This ring belongs to you. I apologize for taking it." The man was silent for a moment, his eyes fixed intently on Iris.. She whispered nervously, "What if someone sees you?"

He gave her a small smile, his eyes softening. "I'll be quick," he said. "I just had to see you, even if it's only for a moment." Before Iris could speak, he leaned in and kissed her with an intensity born of pure passion. " It was meant to be yours ".Her lips were soft and warm against his, offering a brief respite from the tumultuous emotions coursing through them both. The world around them burst into a kaleidoscope of colors and light. Flowers bloomed at their feet, and a soft breeze lifted their hair, carrying with it the sweet scent of spring. It was as if the entire forest was alive and celebrating their lovely moment.
