"No, it's not lost," Magnus said with a smile on his face. "I gave it back to the Old Wang."
Ronan raised his brows at his words.
"Why?" He asked with a surprised expression. "Don't you wanna catch some fish?"
Magnus didn't answer his question and looked at the bucket, in which a black-colored fish was swimming.
"You have caught a Charcole Carp?" He asked.
Ronan smiled and puffed his chest, he rubbed the ridge of his nose with a proud expression on his face.
"Guess, I was lucky today." Ronan also looked at the black fish in the bucket. Forgetting about Magnus's fishing bag.
Magnus remembered from his memories that Charcole Carp sold for a good price in the market.
Its price could go up to forty copper coins if it's healthy.
He looked at Ronan's fish and could tell that it was a healthy fish and would be sold for at least thirty-five copper coins.
"I will be going back and selling it as soon as I can, before anyone steals it from me," Ronan said and covered the bucket with a wooden plank.
This was the cruel reality of this world.
Magnus sighed listening to his words and nodded.
Ronan then packed his stuff and moved away from Magnus.
He looked at Ronan's departing back and when he was completely gone he looked above at the sky.
This world was filled with all sorts of dangers and even placing trust in one's friends was a fool's job.
He would never tell about his power to anyone, no matter how close to him they are.
Looking around he moved towards Old Wang's shop.
"Brat, what do you want?" The old man said raising his brows and seeing the young boy coming towards him again.
"Fishing bag." Magnus smiled, "I won't return it soon this time."
"Hmph! You dare not." Old Wang snorted and threw a bag at him. He then noted his name on his credit book.
"Now don't waste my time and go away." The old man said and waved his hand.
Ambrose smiled politely and took the bag.
The reason for him to take a bag was so he doesn't arouse the suspicion of other people.
Quickly moving towards a secluded area where no one else was present he looked at his Black Tailed sparrow and called it down.
The Sparrow quickly flew down and landed in front of him.
"Catch some fish for me," Magnus said while pointing at the river.
The Sparrow didn't wait long after his order and flew into the sky without wasting any time.
Jack looked at the sparrow with a proud expression on his face.
The sparrow then swooped down and with its claw and soon caught a big fish and threw it towards Magnus.
He looked at the fish flapping in front of him and when he identified it, his eyes widened in surprise.
"A Munchfish!" He exclaimed in surprise.
Gulping his saliva he squatted beside the fish and made sure he wasn't seeing things.
'It's a munch fish!' A shudder moved through his body.
From his memories, he knew that a munch fish wasn't something to scoff at, it was a magical fish after all.
Although not with a beast core, it still contained mana in its skin.
"It would easily sell for two hundred copper coins." Magnus estimated its prize.
I could sell this and not worry about a month of food.
However, he wasn't foolish enough to sell it.
"This would put me in trouble if I were to sell it with my puny strength." He thought and decided against selling it.
"This would help me increase my own strength."
He noticed the flapping fish on the ground and could see its razor-sharp teeth.
This was the fish that needed mana-imbued string to even try fishing in this river.
And sometimes it could even cut the mana string.
Magnus waited for it to die because putting it inside the normal iron bucket would be foolish as it could easily break through it.
Soon enough the fish stopped flapping and after probing it with a wooden stick he wrapped it in the cloth he brought, he also covered it in salt so it doesn't rot too quickly.
The salt was provided with the fishing bag that Old Wang has given him.
He then looked at the Sparrow again that was flying.
"Again!" He ordered and without any wait, the sparrow moved down towards the water.
*Flap!!!*
Soon enough another Eel-like fish landed in front of Magnus and this time it made him dumbfounded.
'What the fuck?!' He looked at the Eel and cursed inwardly.
This was a Poinson Leach Eel, another magical creature and this time it was even rare than the Muchfish.
"This even has a mana core in it!" Magnus looked at the Eel and quickly placed the cloth over it throwing the Munchfish aside.
He knew that a Poison Leach Eel could live outside the water for up to ten hours.
"You are my obedient slave..." He sat down beside the flapping Eel and activated his Subliminal Mind Control Technique.
Soon enough, just before the Eel was about to break free from the clutches of the cloth it stopped moving.
Magnus on the other hand was covered in cold sweat, he held the Eel with great difficulty while also avoiding its poisonous bites.
Getting bitten by this thing once, means a death warrant for him.
"Finally, it's under my control after three hundred repetitions." Magnus thought and took out the cloth from the Eel.
"Move in the bucket." He ordered.
And just as he expected the Eel moved inside the bucket.
Magnus smiled with satisfaction and then picked up the dead Munchfish and wrapped it again in the cloth.
He then looked at the Black-Tailed Sparrow.
"You are too overpowered and will put me in trouble if you keep finding these rare fishes."
He wiped off the sweat from his forehead, he was suffering from success.
"Catch a normal fish this time," Jack said to the sparrow and made it fly again.
And finally this time the Black-Tailed Sparrow landed in front of Magnus while throwing a Charcole Carp in his legs.
"Is this the least you can do?" His brows twitched.
The Black Bird nodded with its chest puffed up.
Magnus sighed and then picked up the Blackfish.
He hid both the Munchfish and the Poison Leach Eel in his cloth while placing the Charcole Carp in the bucket he moved towards Old Wang shop.
"Brat, did you catch something this time?" The old man said while raising his brows and looking at the bucket covered with the wooden plank.
Magnus nodded and showed the Charcole Carp to the old man.
"How much?" He asked.
He knew that he could sell the fish to the butcher or the old Wang, although the Old man paid less, it was also less trouble selling it to him.
The Old Man looked in the bucket and when saw the Charcole Carp a glimmer moved through his eyes.
"Five copper coins and I will waive off all your previous credit." Old Wang showed his five fingers.
"Seven." Magnus placed a counteroffer.
"Six, or you can sell it to the butcher." Old wang said with a dissatisfied expression.
Magnus took in a deep breath and nodded.
"Ok." He left the bucket, and the bag at Old Wang and left with Six more copper coins in his pocket.
His bird and beetle were also flying above him.
Old wang smiled and looking at the fish inside, he was happy with it.
Very less people sold fish to him, as they would rather walk a few miles and sell it at a greater price to the Butcher.
Magnus soon reached his room and both his Beetle and the Bird entered through the window.
He then cut through the Munchcarp and threw some meat at the bird.
"Eat it." He said as he needed the Sparrow to perform at its peak.
The bird nodded and started munching on the raw meat.
Magnus on the other hand also started eating raw meat, he knew that although cooking it would make it taste better, the meat would also lose a lot of magical power.
And according to his memories, eating a Munchfush raw was not harmful.
As he ate through the fish piece by piece, he felt a strange power gushing through his body.
"Is this magical power? This is so intoxicating." He smiled and soon finished the food.
"I feel more powerful, just by eating this one fish."
He stood up and found another Emerald Beetle to test his strength.
"You are my loyal servant..."
He only commanded it once and then stopped his technique.
"Roll around." He said and unexpectedly the beetle rolled on his palm in a single command.
A smile moved through his face.
"This is amazing! I wonder how powerful will I get after I eat that Eel."
His eyes darted around the room and soon enough landed on the Eel.
He was contemplating whether he should eat the fish or not.
"I will decide tomorrow."
He thought and placed the Eel in the bucket and went to sleep on his straw mat.
