Synopsis
They called it the Land of Toumen - that region of the world confined by an ice desert in the north, unbreachable oceans on east and south, and the Wall on the west - isolated from the rest of the world for over three centuries to protect itself from the curruption of the Nishi civilization. She didn't like walls, but she loved the Land of Toumen and she loved her country. Afterall, she was on the good side. But reality is far more complex, and Hupo would learn it at her expenses. It took few minutes for the world to crumble under her feet, and for her to do what she never thought she would. It all began with that meeting. The day she met the legendary "Demon of Shenchi".

Chapter 1 - Prologue

Train ticket, check.

Luggage, check.

Okay, let's sit down and enjoy the view.

I left Tomen three years ago. They said it has changed a lot… I wonder how it looks like now…

Sometimes I just can't believe that I used to live that kind of life. Back then everything seemed so normal, but now that I live here, I do realize how special it was...

Wow, what a big lake! It's been a while since I saw one that big (what was I doing on the way on?)! Lu used to tell me that his tribe lived near in a lake, I wonder if it looked like this one... Perhaps there are other Honous living in there...

Uh, I wonder how he is doing now. Almost two hundred years far from his family, that's such a long time... I miss him terribly, though. I promised myself not to think about it too much, but there is always something that reminds me of him. On the other hand, what can I do? He was part of me...

...

Up until five years ago, my greatest dream was to leave Chang'en and travel around the world to discover those places I could only imagine of. Something that I could only dream of as I was a Seal. But then... The unthinkable happened!

Well... I must say it didn't happen as I expected, though... I mean, I never planned to be a fugitive or find myself in the midst of a rebellion! Among other things...

...

Do I regret my choices?

That's not something I am willing to answer anytime soon.

But I do not regret the way things went. Not in a billion of years.

True, if things keep going the way it did in the last couple of years, Honous and Seals will become a folk legend and swords will be used as museum items... But that's up to us to make sure our story won't be forgotten.

In one month starting from now, I will go back to the place that saw me come to life and grow up. But it won't be the same anymore. I am not the same anymore.

I am pretty sure that although we have a part of responsibilty in what is considered 'fate', but there were things we couldn't avoid from the start. I still have a hard time to distinguish the two, but some things are cristally clear today.

Me and him were already meant to meet...
