Chapter 23 - Back to the Cultivation World (2)

After our simple reunion and my naming of Spirit, I gazed at her, mentally bracing myself for a serious discussion.

"Ria, do you think I'm alive in that world?"

Important!

Extremely Important!

It was an extremely important question, as I had been knocked out by the rocks hitting me and fell unconscious afterward, and after that, the possibilities of me dying or not dying could be anything, but getting caught by the duke's goons seemed certain to me.

Though it was all my hypothesis that seemed pretty real to me,

"Uhmm..." Ria crossed her arms, scrutinising me from top to bottom, her expression shifting.

She suddenly frowned, circling around me. The frown deepened on her face, and I began to feel nervous.

What if my existence crisis in another reality meant something dire for Sia? Ria's mysterious behaviour wasn't helping my anxiety.

"Master," she said slowly and ominously, her tone dripping with gravity, "you are totally fine."

"...?"

"...?"

"Ha... Haa... Haaa... Hahahahaha." I burst into laughter, unable to suppress my amusement at my own naivety. What else did I expect from this less evil spirit sister of Sia?

I refrained from probing further or asking how Ria knew I was alive, as such explanations were better suited to Sia's analytical mind. The complexities of the alternate reality, and the implications of my existence there were better left untouched for now.

The time I spent on Super Earth was a stark reminder of the potential dangers in both worlds.

Peace?

Tranquillity?

These worlds were not realms of tranquillity; peace wasn't something effortlessly achieved but rather something fought for tooth and nail.

In the blink of an eye, situations in these realms could turn ugly, and the power dynamics could shift in mere moments. My experience had shown me that even with my Collector System, I wasn't invincible.

The Super Earth had challenged my assumptions about power and technology, throwing me into uncharted territory.

Even in the face of challenges from individuals wielding technology rather than the so-called 'power' they used in Super Earth, I struggled.

Just the technology of Super Earth was perplexing enough, and I had no clear grasp of the so-called 'power' they used. It was daunting to consider how much more challenging it could be in that world. However, diving into those complexities right now would be unproductive and mentally exhausting.

However, this exchange between realities had led to an abstract realisation. As I woke up in the Cultivation world again, I noticed the absence of the numbness that had plagued me after all the lives I'd taken. This indicated that the emotions in each reality were distinct.

However, the shared memory between the two realities was a constant reminder of the interconnectedness of my experiences.

"Master, master, master!" Ria's urgent tone brought me back from my contemplation. Her usual cheerfulness had given way to a more sombre demeanour, and I couldn't help but notice that she had changed her clothes at some point.

'The hell, when did she change her clothes?' I wanted to ask, but I held my tongue because I didn't know what theatrics she would show me.

Nod. Nod.

Seeing her urgent expression, which would have made me chuckle at any other moment, I simply nodded.

ZOOOOOOM!

And as if she were a bullet train, she just spoke at a crazy fast speed, at least for her size.

"Master, I need to tell you about some important things before I forget them. Firstly, the system and all its benchmarks are rooted accordingly to the cultivation world because the system was activated here."

"Secondly, I can only provide information about the things that stem from the system, including cultivation methods and other related aspects."

"Thirdly, both my sister and I can give you one mission per month. You will always receive two missions every month."

"Fourth, the rewards for missions will be given by the system, not us."

"Fifth, there's a crucial detail about how many slots you have for collecting servants. You see, at your current cultivation level, it's challenging for you to oversee more than ten friend servants. Specifically, you can collect four ally servants, two worker servants, and one slave servant."

She paused, allowing her words to sink in, and I quickly grasped the restrictions my cultivation level placed on collecting my servants. The Servant Collector function, while powerful, came with its own set of limitations that I had to be mindful of.

'It's still pretty cool though!'

Ria continued, "Your own spirit isn't potent enough to manage more spirits, and your soul hasn't developed sufficiently to accommodate these varying categories of souls simultaneously."

This time, understanding came faster, and I appreciated her candid explanation of the constraints imposed by my cultivation level. The Servant Collector function's complexity was no joke, and being aware of these limits in advance was undoubtedly beneficial.

"Moreover, the Servant Collector function allows you to gauge the potential of your servants. It also reveals their hidden potential and suggests the cultivation methods that suit them best.

Additionally, it assists in identifying the profession in the cultivation world that aligns with their strengths. The function can even facilitate the awakening or nurturing of latent potential within them by collecting potentials from different individuals."

As Ria explained, I was intrigued by the function's capabilities. However, the last part left me a bit perplexed. The notion of "collecting" potential from others sounded both intriguing and confounding.

Curiosity getting the better of me, I asked Ria to elaborate further on this aspect.

"Haaa~~ Master! ~~"

With a theatrical wipe of her sweatless forehead.

Swish!

Ria settled beside me on the hard bed, her scholarly demeanour taking over. She directed me to turn towards her, and we faced each other, sitting on the bed.

She assumed a scholarly air and began to explain in earnest.
