The four of them stood on the roof of the building; there was a massive hole in the middle, and towering in the air was the God. Its arms were now stretched, allowing it to stand far into the air, looking down on the team.
Trent pulled a black-handled sword from the sheath on his back, saying, "Turner, did you know it was going to happen?"
"I had no idea; I don't even think Mitch foresaw this."
"I see, well, now we have to fight a god, so our best bet is to overwhelm it."
"Are we assuming it can die that way?" Lucas asked.
Yes, and let's hope that's the case. My black sword should stop its regeneration every time I slash it, and if that doesn't work, then we report to the agency."
"Sounds like a plan."
Alright, then let's go!"
Then they all darted off, and the creature noticed and hurled its arms at them. Each hand on the arms started to turn into a disk with extremely sharp skin. One of the arms went straight for Amelia, so she jumped onto top of the arm and started to run on it, slicing and stabbing any arms that came at her.
Amelia had her eyes fixed on the woman's head as she said to herself, "If I slash its head, it might die."
Meanwhile, Turnner and Lucas Jumped and dogged the arms as they came at them. Only occasionally fighting back. For some reason, Turnner had cautioned Lucas about letting the creature slash him, which would allow its skin to touch his flesh. Turnner apparently deduced from the encounter back inside the spawning room that whenever the skin touched their flesh, it made them go insane.
Trent, on the other hand, sliced the arms as they came at him, hoping to eventually wear out the God because whenever he slashed an arm, the part where his sword touched would rot and not regenerate. The slashed arm would retract, and a new one from the arms would lunge at him, or another would come out of the woman's body. As he slashed and hacked at the arms, he said to himself, "It doesn't look like my poison is working; once again, my God contract proves useless."
Amelia finally reached close to the creature's head. The God noticed her on top of its arm and sent another one at her, but before the arm could connect, Amelia leaped towards the head and, in a fluid motion, slashed it. Suddenly the arms stopped attacking them, and the creature lay motionless. Any arms that Trent had slashed hovered in the air, not regenerating.
Amelia, who was now on the ground, looked up and said, "Is it dead?" but she was wrong. The severed head that lay on the ground inside the building opened its eyes and shouted, "Insanity!"
In a sudden and swift pace, arms protruded from all over its body. Some of the arms that Trent had slashed with his sword were slashed by the new arms, revealing fresh flesh that wasn't rotten, so the arm regenerated. And they jotted out into the air with the rest of the arms, about 50 of them going in all directions in a spherical shape.
Turnner and Amelia were able to dodge them by jumping away, but Lucas and Trent didn't have that luck. They ended up being slashed by the sharp ends of the arms; Trent had his head chopped off, and Lucas lost the top half of his body. And they fell off the building out of shock.
The rest of the arms were sent all over the city. They struck buildings and people, dozens at a time, slashing each of them once. The sudden destruction sent people scampering in all directions, and their fear started to Surge. Buildings were cut in half and roads ruptured by the arms as they slashed anyone in their path.
Seconds later, the random people who were slashed regenerated. Their eyes cocked back, and their bodies began to crack like zombies. Then they started running around in the streets like mad people, biting and scratching anyone who wasn't slashed by the arms. Intent on turning them insane also.
The same thing happened to Trent and Lucas; they both regenerated and started running around like zombies. The God now reached into the building with its arm and grabbed its head.
Turnner, who landed on a building, watched from afar as the God reattached its head and said, "This is getting out of hand." Then it turned and focused on him. Then normal hands on the human body pointed at Turnner and said, "Join the insanity."
Immediately, about 20 long arms were hurled at him. From behind, it looked impossible to avoid it. It was spread out across his points of view, all of them sharp and deadly. Tunner was stunned by the speed and quickly realized it was because the God had grown a lot stronger from the emotional upsurge. Seeing this, Turnner decided to teleport from there to avoid the collision.
However, the arms crashed into the building he was on and damaged it badly. People from a building across the street could only stare outside in horror. Only to see the same arms turn and jot at them, crashing through their building and striking each of them. They all went insane shortly after.
Amelia now leaned against a wall in the back alley of an apartment building. The shade allowed her to rest and get her thoughts together. She thought to herself, "I need to get back to the agency and report what happened. And why was everyone suddenly running around? Maybe when it slashes you, you go crazy?"
But her thinking was cut short when she looked up and saw a man staring at her from a window on the apartment building. His eyes were cocked back, and he licked his lips at her while shaking his head. At the same time, more people appeared at one end of the alley and walked slowly towards Amelia.
She drew her sword to fight, realizing that it was the crazy people that the god had struck. But more of them started to appear at the windows and on top of the building. For some reason, they weren't attacking but instead stared her down. On seeing this, Amelia decided to make a run for it. Which prompted people to come after her.
Within a few seconds, a multitude of people trampled the ground behind her. Amelia ran at a quick pace, but she was too slow, so she looked at her watch, which read 4322 XP. Then her pace increased rapidly, and she darted out of the alley and dashed down the streets, passing all kinds of people running about like psychopaths. Although she was moving fast, they still noticed her, so she attracted another large crowd.
Noticing this, Amelia stopped in front of a skyscraper and looked at her watch again. It read 3946, and then she said to herself, "I can't use anymore of my XP." Then she looked at the crowd racing towards her and decided to wait it out inside the building.
Amelia pulled on the closed door, but it was locked. She took another look at the multitude getting closer to her and made a quick decision. She kicked the glass with great force and broke it. Then she stepped inside and ran to the elevators.
Just in time because the crowd crashed into the door, causing the frame to break and fall to the ground. Amelia stood at the elevator, slamming the down button as she stared at the people running towards her. Finally, the doors opened, and she hurried inside.
She slammed her hands on the highest floor she could find, and about a second after it began to close, but before it could shut, one of the people's hands junked through the tiny opening, preventing it from shutting, but before it could open again due to the censors, Amelia slashed the person's hand with her sword and allowed the elevator to close and begin ascending.
