ANNE'S FIRST AND FINAL WARNING
Richmond, unmoved by her attempts at clarification, uttered, "You can sit. I don't think you should be standing. After all, you must have been running for hours."
Anne, a mixture of relief and trepidation in her eyes, acknowledged the fatigue that clung to her after the morning's chaotic sprint. "Sir, how did you know I was tired? My legs are aching."
Richmond, with a wry smile, replied, "I don't mean there. How about you take a seat in front of the Human Resources Manager? I am sure they know what to do with latecomers like you."
Anne's eyes dilated at the unexpected turn of events. The mention of the Human Resources Manager sent a chill down her spine.
Anne raised her both hands in the air, clasping them together as if she was ready to pray. Her expression contrite as she stared at Richmond, "Sir, please. I am sorry. I can't lose this job now. Please reconsider."
