Later in the evening, Thomas expertly parked the car in front of the building, its engine humming softly as it idled. Anne turned to Richmond, a gentle smile playing on her lips.
"See you tomorrow," she said, the words carrying a subtle promise of the continuation of their shared moments.
Richmond, leaning back against the car seat, responded, "Let me see you to the house."
A brief pause lingered as Anne considered his offer. She hesitated, her gaze flickering between the darkened streets and Richmond's earnest expression. Breaking the silence, she voiced her concern, "People might see us."
With a dismissive wave, Richmond countered, "Let them see. They'll think I'm just looking after you. Besides, Coco and Belle aren't around. What if something happens to you?"
Anne chuckled, attempting to ease Richmond's apparent worry. "Nothing will happen to me; you're just being paranoid."
