Anne, amused by the assumption, leaned in and whispered conspiratorially, "Psst, no! Richmond would be more pleased if I didn't even wear clothes. I just felt I needed to upgrade. We are going to go public, and I don't want to drag his image down. We went shopping together, and he helped me pick the clothes."
Belle, satisfied with the explanation, nodded in understanding. "I hope they are good," she remarked, her eyes glancing towards the bags.
Intrigued, Belle picked up one of the bags and began pulling out the clothes, inspecting each piece with a critical eye. Anne watched her friend's reactions, curious about what Belle would think of Richmond's fashion choices.
Belle's scrutiny didn't go unnoticed, and Anne couldn't help but ask, "What are you doing?" Belle, undeterred, continued her inspection. "Seeing for myself," she replied, focused on the task at hand.
