Richmond's disbelief echoed through the room. Anne, a breeder? The concept seemed surreal to him. He couldn't fathom that breeders, thought to be extinct, could still exist in their midst.
As he observed Anne trapped in Ripple's hands, a surge of anger gripped Richmond. His attempts to control his emotions were evident, but Ripple was pushing all his buttons. The implications of Anne being a breeder stirred a storm within him. 'Anne is a breeder?'
Ripple, reveling in the revelation, spoke with confidence. "That is why you aren't worthy of her. I knew Anne was a breeder the moment I laid my eyes on her." His tone carried a mixture of triumph and possession as if Anne's status justified his claims.
Richmond couldn't ignore the sweet scent that had become known to the breeders. It dawned on him, "Was that why she smelt so nice and made it so hard to resist her?"
