WORK AT HAND
After the meeting concluded, Anne found herself engaged in the task of gathering her papers and shutting down her laptop.
As she focused on organizing her materials, Dawson unexpectedly entered the room, his presence catching her attention as she shifted her focus to Dawson. Dawson surveyed the room, making sure they were alone.
Dawson, breaking the silence, offered his assistance with a courteous, "Anne, let me help you with that."
Anne, appreciative but self-sufficient, politely declined, "No need! I got this," stating that she had everything under control.
Dawson, slightly unsure, responded with an uncertain "Okay, I guess."
Curiosity piqued, Anne sensed an unspoken tension in Dawson's demeanor. Seizing the moment, she asked, "So what do you want to say to me?" Her voice was calm, and patient as she waited for Dawson to speak.
