GOING FOR A WALK
Anne, surprised by the invitation, raised her eyes to meet Richmond's gaze. "Going somewhere, sir?" she inquired, her tone betraying a hint of curiosity.
"I want to go for a walk. Do you want to stroll with me?" Richmond replied with genuine warmth in his voice.
Anne hesitated for a moment, then nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. She placed her plate on the chair and stood up, ready to accompany Richmond on his excursion.
As they started walking, Anne made a conscious effort to stay a step behind, a subtle strategy to avoid giving other gists for potential rumors.
Richmond, sensing Anne's deliberate positioning, couldn't help but chuckle. "Anne, my dear, was it not you who boldly held my hand in front of everyone? What's the point of modesty now?" he teased, a playful glint in his eyes.
Anne blushed slightly but maintained her position. The beach stretched out before them, the golden sand extending into the distance.
