Back at the Dark Silence pack, in the study room of the Alpha, a heavy silence hung in the air. The woman, burdened with the weight of a child within her womb, sat on the floor, her dark hair cascading around her like a mourning shroud. Tears dripped from her black eyes as her head bowed beside Walters' feet.
Walters glanced uncomfortably at his wife, Elena, who sat beside him. Seeing Humphrey's wife begging him so she can see her husband was making Walters uncomfortable.
Displeasure etched across his face as he spoke, "Yin, please rise from the ground."
Yin shook her head defiantly, "I won't stand up from here until I see my husband."
Walters, concerned, urged her, "You shouldn't be on the ground in your state. Rest for the sake of the child."
Yin remained steadfast, "It's been close to a month. I haven't seen Humphrey. The kids ask about their father, and I can't give them an answer. Take me to him, Walters, please."
