"Good morning, Anne. Hope you had a wonderful sleep? Belle and I will be going early to the office to work on a project. In case you don't see us when the bus arrives, we'll be at the office. Also, there are sandwiches I left in the kitchen for you to eat before going to work. See you later in the evening, Anne."
A warm smile crossed Anne's face as she read Coco's considerate note. It explained why no one had disturbed her slumber this morning. Grateful for such thoughtful roommates, Anne made her way to the kitchen to find the promised sandwiches.
Rushing to the kitchen, Anne grabbed two slices of sandwiches, hastily wrapping them in a paper bag as she darted towards the door. Her breakfast, intended for consumption at work, hung in the balance – a precarious situation that might determine her fate with Mr. Richmond.
