Jade stuck with her initial plan without panicking.
Panic is the state in which most mages find themselves, whenever their enemy nears them. Mages are known for long-range attacks, whereas Knights fight close-range.
So when fighting a Knight, which is the case here, the image has to be as much as distant as possible from the Knight.
The match started that way, which gives mages an initial advantage. If they could end the battle before the opponent reaches them, it is well and good but it was never the case. No one could end the match in such a short time.
As expected, Jade made use of the advantage she got. She used roots to slow down and divert him away from her direction. She then used vines to attack him.
Everyone thought that she was wasting time by using only element magic and withdrew their words after they saw what happened in the next few minutes.
Many didn't understand what was happening on the stage.
