Apparently, there was a new rise in the food industry in the Gerret Empire. A food business venture appeared introducing new types of food that started to flood the market. They are better tasting and even cheaper than the ones that existed. Many things changed with their entrance.
This food venture amassed a lot of profits either by directly selling in its home or by selling the rights to sell contracts to other merchants who have distribution channels in other territories.
The owner of the said venture declined this merchant's offer. So he went to a lord who was a glutton and made a deal with him.
