Kathryn tossed and turned on the bed before angrily tossing the duvet aside and sitting up,looking at the time it was already twelve thirty a.m, sighing she took a jacket and walked out of the room...
She took the stairs and went up to the third floor...
After walking for a while she got to a huge door with a sign that read ' library ' ,she smiled happily, Alas something to indulge in before bed especially when it is your favorite thing, opening the huge door she went in.
The light in the room was lit up immediately she got in, and before her was a tall rolls and rolls of book on a shelf...
She turned around in full circle taking in the view of the large room.
"Surely this has got to be the largest private library ever" kathryn said to herself as she went through different sections of the library...
Stopping in front of a row, she looked up and immediately gasped....
"Oh my God" she said excited on seeing the book she had scoured almost every manual and e-library for...
Stretching her hand, she couldn't reach it...looking around she couldn't find anything that could help her reach it.
Resigning to her fate that she might not read the book tonight she just stood there staring at the book in frustration...
"Maybe I will ask William to help me with it in the morning" she said and just as she laid back a little, her back hit a solid surface..
She wondered if she was suddenly near a wall, on turning around she came face to face, or rather face to chest with the towering Davin...
She looked up at the devilishly handsome davin and for a minute her breath hitched....they stood just few inches away staring at each other,just then she felt something hard pushed into her hand,looking down she was holding the book she wanted earlier,before she could raise her face Davin had already turned around had left...
"What's his deal" she murmured...she couldnt for the life of her understand why he was being a dick.
Going up the stairs he went and sat on a seat in the middle of the library..while continuing his reading, kathryn followed behind him and sat opposite him...
For next five minutes davin couldn't read past the line he had been on,rereading it over and over again it still didn't make sense to him..
He closed the book and reclined in his chair, allowing him have a clearer view of Kathryn who hasn't looked up ever since she sat down...
Her presence greatly distracted him and the natural scent from her body was fogging his mind making it hard for him to think or even read more than few sentences..
Sensing that someone was boring a hole into her head she looked up and was quite suprised to see davin staring at her with an unreadable emotion on his face...she tried to not look into his eyes,which had haunted her throughout the night but failed miserably as their eyes locked and once again was enchanted into the beautiful euphoria of his green eyes, it went on for few minutes before the both of them looked away.
Whatever she thinks his eyes does to her,is worse than what her Hazel eyes does to him,only she didn't know..
Clearing her throat, she asked "what..?"
"What?" Davin asked even though he knew what she meant.
"Is there anything I can do for you, you have been boring a hole in my head ever since I sat her" she asked.
"You are distracting me" Davin said outrightly
"Excuse me" kathryn was suprised at how straight forward he was..
"You have been distracting me" he repeated again looking straight at her unblinking..
She stared right at him, wondered how exactly she had been distracting him, deciding to not ask what the reason was, she made to stand up before her phone rang showing a unknown number..
Davin looked at her phone and wondered who will be calling her by Midnight, would it be one of the guest at the party tonight , he wondered and the thought alone made him uncomfortable but he didn't show it one bit.
Kathryn looked at the phone for awhile before answering...
"Hello" she said indifferently.
"Hello mi amor" he caller said softly, she froze on realizing who the person on the other line was...she couldn't forget his voice even if she wanted to.
Davin was looking attentively at her and immediately saw her initial reaction to the caller,he too head the voice but couldn't make out what the caller said, but whatever it was, didnt look good..
"It has been so long mi amor, finally I have found you" he said once more and instantly the memory of that dreadful night started rushing back causing her to hyperventilate, holding on tightly to the phone with one hand and fisting her other hand under the table until it was ashen and her nails buried into her hands, she tried to control her breathing...
"Sorry,this is a wrong number" she replied but couldn't cut the call even when she wanted to..
"How can it be a wrong number now mi amor, your voice hadn't changed for the past six years my beautiful baby" he replied,she felt repulsed as sweats started forming on her forehead even though the room was air conditioned...
"Are you OK?" Davin asked ever so softly that for a moment she forgot all her worries while staring down at him as he squatted beside her holding her fisted hand in his.
"Who is the man beside my wife" Carlos asked angrily before Kathryn disconnected the call immediately, but Davin was able to hear what he said clearly...
"Are you OK?" He asked again this time placing his warm palm on her head....he looked puzzled as her body temperature was normal, so why was she sweating so much before,he wondered.
Taking back her hand from his, she strengthened her back and answered ever so coldly "I am fine".
Looking at the indifferent expression on her face he disagreed with her.
"I don't think you are"
"And who are you to tell me how I feel" she fired back.
"The one that sat in front of you the whole time you were hyperventilating and sweating few minutes ago" he answered back reclining in his chair.
She looked shocked on hearing what he just said but decided not to pursue the matter..
"Who was he" he asked again..
"Non of your business" she fired back and stood to walk away..
"Wait" he said as he walked up to here....,she looked at him apprehensively..
Walking up to her he took her left hand and started walking downstairs....he took her by suprise that she didn't even have time to retort before they got to room tagged Medicare inside the library..
"Sit" he ordered and she subconsciously sat down quietly..
He brought a first aid box and sat beside her on the couch...
It was when he started applying ointment on her wound that she remembered that she had hurt herself...
There was a peaceful silence in the room that made her not wanting to leave..
Sitting very close to each other she took the chance to appreciate his handsome features...everything about his face was perfect,his brows were full and nicely shaped,she wondered if he used to trim it, his beautiful nose stood firm and straight, and his full
Lips that was pursed looked amazing,she unconsciously wondered what it will feel like tasting those.
"Whatever and whomever it is, you should never allow them make you sweat or vulnerable" Davin said while bandaging her hands with a gauze, same way she did his.
"With the type of power and influence you have you should put the fear of god in your enemies not the other way round" he said looking straight at her..
