Chapter 1 - an all-natural Calling

A/N: You don't have to read this chapter, its all background, and lore. Some people don't like just lore.

In another world, unlike our current world, it was different, not in some normal way. It was a world filled with Monsters that ravaged the people of this world. The common folk were mistreated and so were the less nobility. After the fall of the northern cold lands of Seterson, a new hierarchy was put in place that destroyed the current standing of the Eprsin kingdom.

The Kingdoms new hierarchy divided the kingdom's people into 5 Categories. The Elytas (Serfs/Slaves), The Elotas (Commoners/ Levies), The Enocrads (Middle Class), Onocrads (Landed Nobiltys), and Arocrads (Royals and Religious Officials).

The Elytas were people forced to work on farms and unable to leave these farms. The Elotas were the common citizen forced to fight in wars and were the backbone of the economy. The Enocrads were merchants, land owners, and Family Knights, they are the most respected by the common folk, they are considered nobility and are usually named. The Onocrads are historic founding fathers of the nation usually families leading back hundreds of years. The Arocrads are the Royals and Religious Officials, They both stride against each other and dislike sharing power with one and another.

These Classes caused people in the kingdom to riot and try to break through but were left unsuccessful in the attempts. As right around the corner the hordes that roamed the untamed north marched south the biggest one was known by the common folk as The Goblin Empire. Groups of goblins gathered into a large horde controlled by one clan this horde was the downfall of Seterson.

This horde could be the downfall of the Silmadrin(si-ma-drin) Island. Today we still don't know if it is going to be the downfall or an event that will pass by quickly. now moving on from these dark topics that will stain the minds we should move on how about, the political structure of the nation.

In the Kingdom there are 8 territories, 2 are Royal Land, and 2 belong to the Von Answich Family, the rest are divided into minor noble families.

The Royal Family rules the central lands and the Western Midlands. The Answich duke family Rules the North while the Count family rules the Western North.

The Answich Count family formed after the Death of Louis Answich. His nation was split between the dukedom and the count's land. This however didn't cause internal strife between each other as the Duke was never at his land and served the King in the capital he left his wife Lorraine in charge of the dukedom. When he did visit it was only to produce an heir.

both weren't rich however had some money the north was dry plains that lacked water while the western north was a fertile crescent. The North lacked all things to build up they were in the middle of the island no way to get that through.

They were protected by the mountains that ran through the island, these mountains were known as the San-fea Mountain range. It Went through the whole island with only a couple of holes in it that allowed humans to pass by these holes were mostly on the Answich family border others were on the Naif kingdom Border that was off west.

It isn't impossible to climb the mountains it will just take longer than not climbing them. Rural villages live off in the mountains. Their homes are the safest from the monsters.

While the monsters are coming refugees will also be coming to seek asylum in a safer part of the world.

Well let's move on to the Magic, it's not really magic per say. Well, the magic consists of 2 groups the Contracted and the Bewildered. The Contracted are forged by forming a contract with an upper-level monster. They are executed most of the time. The Bewildered are those who unlock the monster's power through severe trauma that affects their daily life.

The magic they are able to use depends on the person, however Bewildered are always weaker than Contracted. Magic Ranges from fire, water, and light. Fire is the easiest to learn while light is the hardest to get the hang of. Magicians were considered as valuable assets not for battle but for servants since most magicians' powers weren't able to kill people only harm.

They were perfect they saved money by hiring them. Why burn wood when your servant can create fire, why waste time having servants carry water when your servant can create it, and why use lamps your servant can shine lights around you. Today the least most magical servants were mistreated by their masters.

They were treated worse than normal servants and forced to be available 24/7.

In the kingdom, the life most people remember was when they were young when life seemed so wonderful. People would like to got to the past when life was better for them. These thoughts caused an epidemic of drug use in the Kingdom as people wanted to forget that death was around the corner.

These thoughts are nothing as surely god has left them. Left them to die a death of the weak to die and rot in the lands they once live in. Only a chuckle could be let out of the mouth of those that weren't wise enough to see past the truth.

Depression skyrocketed in cities of the Duke of answich they didn't want to be the first cities to fall to the horrendous monsters. Who would want to live on the border of death every single day of your life? No one would want that it would be a living hell.
