I made my way up the pipe ladder, and to my surprise I could see a light at the end. I climbed the ladder to the end. My arms almost gave up, but I made it to the end. After pushing myself over the edge, I saw everything.
I was in the inner workings of the negative fifty. A large empty warehouse of mechanical equipment that I couldn't quite understand. There was an elevator nearby but after a quick inspection I found it broken with a sign that said "Not For Use." I crept around looking for any other exit that was useful. But there was nothing.
Something caught me off guard, a sound from below, a level below me perhaps? The sound of repetitive banging and aggressive chatter erupted.
It then stopped for a moment. It was quiet. Too quiet. I looked up to the sound of blaring alarms that rung with a loud enough buzz that could rupture anyone's ear drums. It was not a consistent ring either, it'd drop a couple decibels and raise back up to the highest level it could in a short amount of time.
I pressed my hands tight around my ears so that it could suppress the noise but even that did little help. The ear splitting sound went on for ten minutes before it stopped completely. Even though it stopped, my ears were still ringing for quite some time. The quietness wasn't as quiet as I wished it was. I then heard more noise from below, but it wasn't muffled like before. It was a group of loud angry men coming up the ladder. Impossible, I was sure I locked it, must've found another key to unlock it.
I ran to the broken elevator and pried it open as one of the men crawled out of the hole. I couldn't pry it quite open. I ran to the other direction where boxes and a storage door were left open from my search around the area.
"He couldn't have gone far, Sir." One of the men spoke with a heavy voice that could possibly dominate anyone with their presence.
"No. I'm sure he's here somewhere…" That voice… was recognisable. But I wasn't fully sure.
I stayed in the storage but I knew they would find me within a few moments.
"Men search everywhere. And make sure a single door isn't open…"
A group of steps moved in various directions according to my guessing. I didn't have a plan on how I was going to get out of this mess and I couldn't hope for the best outcome because the moment they capture me I'll be in a place a lot worse than negative hundred right now. I'm so fucked, where do I go?
I could hear them approaching the doors, one step at a time. I started sweating heavily the heat in my body activates to an uncomfortable level and makes me stressed.
The doors open. A man wearing black geared armour appears. His face was covered with some sort of helmet that looked futuristic which I couldn't understand. He then pulls me out with his bare hands and tugs me onto the cold floor.
"He's here sir!" The man Shouted out alerting the rest of the squadron. I tried to move but his grip was so tight that there was no point of even trying. My gaze was somewhat covered since I was incredibly close to the floor. The man's weight was pressed against me which felt like he was trying to kill me. My breathing was stagnant and challenged me even further.
Most of the mercenaries that were sent to look for me walked closer to me about to force me down as if I already wasn't. But when everything seemed down a distraction changed the course of everything.
A loud bang on the wall against me. Two legs in armour step backwards and change their direction to a different part of the room. One man starts floating off the ground miraculously and dies on the spot. His body drops onto the hard solid ground nearby me. Another man starts running up but then is immediately stopped and slammed onto the ground. I could definitely hear the snaps in the backbone from the impact. All I could see now was two unconscious men in front of me.
The weight of the man above me shifts to a different direction as if he was somewhat distracted by something else. Or someone.
"Get back!" Shouted the man on top. But then he was tackled onto the ground. I shuffle away quickly and climb on top of one the unconscious men to give me a boost to stand up on. I turn around swiftly and look at what caused him to topple over.
It was someone familiar. Someone wearing a pale blue linen shirt that stretched around his big muscles. He was bald stern man. And a purple cat was nearby - Laz? He continuously started punching the man in armour over and over until he stopped breathing. I saw Olvin but he was distracted by someone else. Yuo and a few other people I had not been introduced to yet.
One person was a woman but she had big muscles that were similar to Laz, but also aesthetically unique. She had blonde hair with green highlights. Her clothing choice was a sundress with floral designs that had a light transparency so you could see her black underwear. Her movement was fast and dynamic, taking out three of the armoured men in less than a minute. It was mesmerising the way she moves her body in a short amount of time.
Olvin tried everything to deter the group from advancing. It had seemed that he hadn't mastered arcane magic yet, so I took the chance and run to the elevator that was out of use to escape. I almost tripped on a few men on the floor but I eventually made it. I looked around and pure chaos was in the air. I made sure I didn't get injured in any way while dodging attacks all over from the sundress girl.
I caught a glimpse of Yuo using some sort of magic trick on Olvin that I didn't completely understand. It was as if there was a forcefield around him but the mad Knight could not penetrate it. But it was then when the Knight turned to me. His eyes were fired up and ready to ignite. He changes his focus on Yuo to chase after me but he is then stopped by another member who I've never met.
A dragon looking fella that was nearly 10 feet struggled to fully extend his body upwards had red scales for skin, yellow eyes with black pupils and an aggressive demeanour. Once he opened his mouth a streak of flames lashed out of the mouth towards Olvin. Somehow Olvin had created some sort of defence for himself to not be affected by the heat.
Olvin started to run towards me but before he could Yuo pulled him back using astral twighlight (magic rope) and continued to distract him further. But Olvin pushed forward through the numerous attacks. He then had enough. He turned around and decided to use his full force against Yuo.
He created a high intensity beam of energy that was so strong forcing Yuo to crash into the opposite wall unable to get up. The scrawny man was on the ground helplessly trying to get up but it didn't work. The dragon creature swung its large arm in Olvins direction but he dodged.
The creature prepared another fire blast but within less than a second the head of the scaly beast was sliced off in one swift move oh the knights hand beind raised. It was scary. My eyes widened up even more than it already was. Olvin was too powerful is what I thought to myself. Yuo tried to grab onto the ankle of the mad man who neutralised the fella next to him without any regard. But his beg for mercy was short lived.
Olvin knelt down and grabbed the wrist of the malnourished man Yuo, which started to compress it forcing it to disintegrate and break away from the lower arm like it was powder. It didn't look like Olvin was using his full strength on those two but it didn't matter now. I needed to escape.
The mad man started to step away from the two immobile men he took out and to approach me. The elevator doors were somewhat open so I slid my arm into the break between the two doors and attempted to pry it open even more. Just a little bit bigger of a gap the doors open. I jumped into the metal square box and pressed every button that was above negative ninety-nine. The doors shut completely, and now it was just up to luck that this contraption still worked.
