Afterward, through Morgans in the World Economic News, the Navy condemned the evil deeds of the Whitebeard Pirates for attacking the Navy base. They proclaimed that the Navy wouldn't let this slide and that these criminals would pay the price in the future.
However, the exact timing of this retaliation remained uncertain.
This allowed the Navy to regain their reputation, while Whitebeard could vent his frustrations, and it didn't lead to an irreparable outcome. Both sides were satisfied.
Thus, the situation calmed down.
Although Whitebeard had warned the Shogun, there was still one thing that he couldn't let go of.
That was why Ace had left alone and got captured.
To prevent a recurrence of such an incident, Whitebeard ordered Ace not to leave his side, ensuring that the Summit War wouldn't truly ignite.
Ace carried a deep sense of guilt and, upon hearing Whitebeard's command, obediently accepted it. He didn't want to harm anyone in the Whitebeard Pirates.
Everything was heading in a positive direction.
...
On the other side, in the East Blue, on a certain island, as the transmission ended, a certain young man with golden hair suddenly grabbed his head and let out a loud scream.
This startled those around him, and it took a while before the young man raised his head.
To their surprise, his face was drenched in tears.
This golden-haired young man was none other than Sabo, the brother whom Luffy and Ace believed to be dead.
A few years ago, Sabo was rescued by Dragon after falling into the water. He was then taken back to the Revolutionary Army for training. However, before that, he had no memory of his past and only knew his name, Sabo.
It was only just now, when he saw Ace fall dead in front of Luffy, that he remembered everything.
Dragon, upon learning this, was surprised to find out that the child he had brought back all those years ago had such a connection with his son.
So he decided to go and meet Luffy, intending to protect him and ensure his safe journey into the Grand Line, starting his own adventure.
Upon hearing this, Sabo expressed his desire to go together. He also wanted to meet Luffy, whom he hadn't seen in a long time.
And so, on that day, a ship set sail from there.
...
Meanwhile, in another part of the East Blue.
At the Baratie, a floating restaurant on the sea.
The live broadcast had just ended at the right time.
However, the situation at the scene was somewhat strange.
There was originally a battle taking place between the Krieg Pirates, Luffy's group, and the chefs of the Baratie.
But then, Hawkeye appeared and effortlessly cut the Krieg Pirates' ship in half. And it didn't end there.
Zoro challenged Hawkeye, but he ended up being mercilessly defeated.
Hawkeye felt that it was boring for a Warlord of the Sea to toy with these weaklings in the East Blue, so he didn't bother finishing off the Krieg Pirates and left halfway through.
The remaining members of the Krieg Pirates and Luffy's group were staring at each other.
However, something happened along the way. Nami stole Luffy's ship, and now Usopp has taken injured Zoro to go after her.
Luffy decided to stay behind and help Baratie deal with these pirates who didn't pay for their meals and recruit Sanji into his crew.
But just as the fight was getting underway, the live broadcast appeared.
And then everything that happened before was shown.
After watching the broadcast, the atmosphere at the scene suddenly changed.
The Krieg Pirates were somewhat intimidated by Luffy. How could this little guy be so ruthless, able to send Crocodile flying with a single punch and go toe-to-toe with Vice Admirals and Admirals? Moreover, his background is so formidable. He has a Vice Admiral as a grandfather, a Yonko as a guide, and an older brother who is a captain in the Revolutionary Army, not to mention his father who is the leader of the Revolutionary Army.
How can they deal with this?
One Warlord of the Sea, Hawkeye, has already almost finished them off, and now this seemingly divine figure has appeared.
They can't afford to provoke him.
As soon as the live broadcast ended, Krieg and his remaining subordinates quietly fled on a small boat.
Suddenly, the apparent fierce battle at the Baratie was swiftly resolved.
While the turmoil at the Baratie settled, the turmoil in Luffy's heart did not.
He still remembered the scene from the broadcast, Ace being killed by Akainu while trying to save him, and Luffy standing there helplessly, gazing at the sky.
Even though he was carefree by nature, witnessing that scene in his mind caused him genuine pain, even though it hadn't happened yet.
So when he saw Krieg and his group leave, he didn't even bother looking at them. He had no interest in dealing with these guys anymore.
Luffy stood in place, pondering for a long time, but no matter how much he thought about it, he couldn't come up with a solution.
The event hadn't happened yet, and there was nothing he could do right now. Moreover, during the live broadcast, that guy called Whitebeard, who was the captain of Ace's ship, seemed to be furious after learning about it. He said he would protect Ace and challenged the Marines to come at him.
So Luffy couldn't think of anything he could do at the moment. It seemed like all he could do was continue sailing and keep getting stronger.
And if that day ever comes, he can go and help Ace.
