Third Person POV
Thanatos had to wander through the dark forest for about thirty minutes. He followed the trail until he came across a pile of undead corpses spanning 30 yards (27 meters).
Thousands of pints of black blood flowed from rotten and corroded flesh into the damp soil. The stench in the air was nauseating, forcing Thanatos to cover his nose with his hand.
*Squeal*
— Undead? — Thanatos speculated, hearing the cries of the walking dead.
He walked towards the sound, circled around the pile of corpses, and saw Evelina, exhausted, panting over the second pile of lifeless undead. She was alive and appeared relatively healthy, aside from looking severely drained.
— Evelina!
With immense relief, Thanatos rushed towards Evelina but had to slow down his pace.
— No! Wait, I'm not done yet... — Evelina hastily exclaimed, still looking into the eyes of the final, third Dark Lich.
Thanatos also turned his gaze to the Lich, noticing numerous wounds on its body.
The leader of the undead turned out to be the last one remaining, yet to be slain by Evelina.
Thanatos began to ponder this unexpected turn of events, «Did she single-handedly kill hundreds of undead? And now she's battling a Dark Lich of First Star System rank? She's just a Third Star cultivator! Maybe I'm at the same level, but my primordial strength should be much greater than Evelina's.»
He decided not to interfere and let Evelina finish what she had started. Thanatos quickly realized that he would only need to help if Evelina was clearly defeated.
— And why are you standing there, you rotting scavenger! You scored water in the mouth? I'll stuff you with my acid, you wretch! — Evelina shouted, struggling to stay on her feet.
The Dark Lich didn't rush to respond or attack. Its attention was focused on Thanatos, who guaranteed the human girl's safety. The Lich knew that its two brethren had been killed, and it would be next.
— Come on! Attack! — Evelina taunted the Dark Lich, unable to make the first move due to her physical exhaustion.
— Tu-tan! — The Dark Lich shouted its battle cry and released the Black Mist from its hands, reducing visibility in the area to almost zero.
Evelina surrounded herself with acid, fearing an attack from behind, while Thanatos began to flank them from the rear, realizing Lich's plan.
*Strike*
— Kraa-ark! — Lich cried out as it suffered a serious blow to its right arm.
The mist started to dissipate, revealing the scene of Thanatos standing above the leader of the undead.
He stepped on the Lich's head and coldly uttered, — Weakling! You thought you could escape? Your plan didn't work.
— Curse you! You'll all die! Our Empress will eventually devour the entire planet... — the Dark Lich growled, wheezing.
Limping on one leg, Evelina limped over to Thanatos and the Lich to ask, — Did he try to escape?
— Well, as you can see, he tried. You can kill him, — Thanatos said, kicking the Lich towards Evelina's feet.
Lich screamed once again and lunged at Evelina, desiring to take her to the grave, but she created a whip of acid energy and struck the undead's face.
The monster's head split in half, and a high-level core fell from its lifeless body.
— Phew, I finally killed them all! — Evelina murmured in relief, taking the oval-shaped purple core for herself.
Thanatos approached Evelina slowly and hugged her tightly.
— I'm so glad you're okay.
— Oh, I'm glad I'm okay too. Where have you been? I didn't even notice your absence right away... — she said guiltily, lowering her head.
— I had a serious encounter with two Dark Entities. Let's put our worries aside and head to the spatial teleporter, — Thanatos said, grabbing Evelina's hand.
— Wait! — she exclaimed, gripping his hand. Evelina took off her black mask and said, — I'm too tired... I killed about four hundred undead and one very powerful leader! We need to go back home.
—Alright, — Thanatos nodded understandingly, flashing a bright smile. He was glad to see the snub nose, sweet lips, and rosy cheeks of his beloved girl.
Thanatos turned around and pulled Evelina along, but she continued to stand in place, her head hanging down.
He scratched his chin and pulled the green-eyed girl into his embrace. Then he lifted her head and said, — What's wrong this time? Do you want a kiss on the cheek after a tough battle?
Evelina nodded. Thanatos wanted to kiss her, but she held her palm up to his lips, shocking him with her next statement, — I betrayed you, so I don't deserve a kiss.
— Be-betrayed? — Thanatos furrowed his brow, asking for clarification.
— I-I'm a s-spy, — Evelina whispered tremulously, averting her gaze.
— Whose spy? — Thanatos asked, slightly relieved.
At first, he thought of something more terrible, but espionage wasn't a fatal mistake for their relationship.
— It's... It's hard to explain it quickly. But I'll tell you what really happened on the first night when I was in the Black Mist.
Evelina took out a communicator that created a protective barrier around them, and she began her story.
...
POV Thanatos.
Evelina shared the story of how she accidentally encountered a certain Undead Queen and Empress - Morena. This figure possessed absolute power and deadly suppression, capable of killing any Stellar Cultivator if desired.
Evelina revealed that she survived because she had my scent on her body.
I realized that she had encountered that mysterious figure who called me to her after I woke up.
Now I regret telling her to fuck off and showing her the middle finger...
Evelina also told me about her encounter with Spika and that she had already informed Morena about it through a high-tech communicator.
— So she became interested in me at a time when I didn't feel her pressure? — Thanatos asked himself, seeing Evelina nod in response.
— Yeah. But I managed to put that bitch in her place, now Morena is at my mercy, — Evelina boasted, thrusting her chest forward.
Meanwhile, I shook my head, — No, this will end in tragedy. We need to do something urgently, or else this risk will be your downfall.
— But I was able to...
I caressed Evelina's cheek and made her look directly into my eyes. I licked my lips and, for the first time, kissed Evelina, savoring the taste of her soft flesh.
At that moment, we were not far from the slain undead, but their putrid odor didn't distract us from the important matter at hand.
— Ah, Thanatos... — Evelina whispered, in a state of stupefaction.
I would describe our first kiss with excitement and tenderness: steam came out of our mouths, we tickled each other's noses, pleasant shivers ran through our bodies, an uncontrollable heat emanated from our bellies, and a tent rose in my own pants.
Not holding back our overflowing emotions, I gently ran my hands through Evelina's black hair, pulling her closer to me. Her bulging nipples pressed against my firm pecs.
Our lips tried to devour each other greedily. An electric current seemed to pass between us. The taste of her sweet lips intoxicated me, and the world around us seemed to dissolve. In that tender moment, I realized that Evelina was my beloved girl, and this kiss marked the beginning of a new chapter in our relationship.
— Ugh, you fool, I love you, — Evelina confessed tenderly, touching the abs on my stomach.
She was aroused, and only the unfavorable situation prevented Evelina from engaging in more intimate actions with me.
— I thank you for honesty. And I'm kissing you because you're not indifferent to me, - I explained my actions, expressing some of feelings.
— Th-this is so nice, — murmured Evelina, in an imaginary trance. She looked into my blue eyes, not intending to leave the embrace, but my words made Evelina feel anxious, — What should we do now?
— You've given me a chance to start underground intrigues against my unknown family... You should establish contact with Morena now, and I'll try to negotiate with her.
— YOU'RE CRAZY! — pushing me away, Evelina shouted. Trying to reason with me, she delivered a painful blow to my chest and said, — I won't let you contact that terrible woman! She's dangerous, and I feel like I could lose you if I allow it to happen.
Damn, it seems like we're at a dead end.
— Evelina, you have to give me the communicator. Your life and our shared future depend on it. If you don't give it willingly, I will take it by force, — I stated firmly.
Evelina continued to shake her head, crossing her arms over her chest, — I won't give it! She will take you away from me!
I pressed my lips together and began stroking Evelina's head to alleviate her unfounded anxiety, — It won't happen. Probably...
Evelina puffed her cheeks, squinted, and gave me a childish angry look, — Look at yourself objectively! You can't be sure of that.
I grinned, realizing how to achieve what I wanted, — What if I promise you any one wish from me?
— Really? — she whispered, her eyes sparkling with irresistible temptation.
I nodded and provided some clarification, — I'll fulfill any wish of yours that is not related to the category of wishes where our fates do not align.
Evelina showed a cunning smile and smacked me on the head, saying, — Silly, I wouldn't have made such a wish, hehehe. Alright, take this stupid communicator! I agree to the deal.
I took the device in my hands and nodded in response to Evelina's words.
— Phew, heavy negotiations are coming up... — I muttered with a hint of concern.
— What will you say to Morena? Do you have a plan?
— Yes, I have a plan. I'll make her think that I hate my family. She will think that I can join her side and be a useful pawn in her political games.
— Wow, you're so clever! — exclaimed Evelina, fidgeting in place.
I need to decide what I want to get from Morena. But it will be difficult to deceive her, given her status as Empress. She must be very old, so all I have against Morena are a few intangible factors: my Chaos power, immunity to her pressure, and the fact that she won't expect serious intrigues from me due to my young age. Although I could be mistaken about something, we'll have to take the risk.
I'll only have one chance to pull off this trick.
If we do nothing, Morena will find a way to quietly and discreetly kill Evelina. That fact is obvious to me. No Empress would want to be in a submissive position, even the most crazy and deranged one.
