Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: My purpose?

"Gr- Grandma!"

Ms. Yao said not to worry about grandma, but hearing her message I couldn't help but tremble. Dashing forward, gliding across the ruined palace grounds the voices from the dead came over me again, "I̴ ̸d̷ ̴o̷ ̵n̸ ̶'̸ ̴t̴ ̸w̶ ̸a̵ ̶n̷ ̷t̸ ̵t̸ ̶o̴ ̵D̸ ̴i̷ ̸e̵ ̵!̵ ̷!̶ ̶!̶" Tears started falling down my face as I felt the spiritual web begin to fly loosely in the wind,

"Please Quiet down.. I Can't See AnyThing-!"

Their voices clouded my mind making it hard for me to visualize my surroundings,

"I̶ ̴t̴ ̵ ̵h̸ ̵u̸ ̶r̵ ̸t̷ ̴s̵ ̵,̴ ̴"

'Quiet Down!' I told the voices, but they only got louder and louder,

"̵̵̴H̷̵̴ ̷̴̷O̸̶̴W̵̶̸ ̵̶̸C̷̵̴O̴̶̷U̷̵̶L̶̷̵D̵̸̵ ̸̸̴Y̷̵̵O̵̵̷U̷̴̸!̵̴̸"̵̵̵ ̵"̷P̸L̶E̴A̸S̶E̷!̵"̶̸̸ ̸"̶̸̴N̶̸̸O̶̸̴T̶̶̵ ̴̶̶M̶̶̵Y̶̵̵ ̶̶̶C̸̸̷H̶̶̷I̴̸̷L̶̶̵D̶̴̵"̶̶̵ ̴"̵s̴h̷u̷t̴ ̶U̶P̸!̸"̶ ̷̴̵"̶̶̸S̷̴̴T̴̵̶A̵̵̴Y̶̶̶ ̷̶̴A̶̶̶W̷̸̸A̴̶̶Y̵̶̴ ̵̷̷F̵̷̷R̸̵̴O̶̴̴M̷̷̴ ̶̷̴M̴̸̶E̶̴̷!̵̶̸!̸̴̶!̴̷̷"̷̴̵ ̴̵̵ ̸ ̷

The voices were like a hive of insects you'd find when you pick up a log, angrily crawling up your arm because you disturbed them. Watching the sight of such a horrid thing unfold, would make a child like myself faint from the shock.

"̷̲͊S̷̭̍t̷̛̺o̴̜͊p̶̘̔-̷̹́ ̵͔̋P̵̢͋L̷̔͜ȇ̶̬a̴͖͂s̸̠̑ẽ̵̹ ̶̠̂S̸̮͛t̵̮̿o̷̞͆p̷͛͜"̸̢̿ ̴̭̅"̵̤͂Ḿ̴̡ä̵́͜k̵̹̿ȩ̶̑ ̴̞̈i̵̟͗t̷̡͛ ̷̨̉S̷̢͐t̴̙͒o̶̳̕p̶̰͝,̷̔ͅ"̴̘̀ ̷̨̊P̶̜̐l̵̗̓é̵͈a̵̲̐s̸̭̽e̷̛͖"̶̧̕

I wanted to run away, I wanted to run far far away from the voices, from the chaos that was in my mind, but I couldn't. It latched on to me, and it forced me to watch its wrath decay over me.

"Please, stop-"

Forced into a corner like a bee protecting its hive, I did everything to get them off of my body, out of my mind.

"S̸t̸e̸a̶m̴y̷!̸"

"̶Y̶O̸U̵!̶"̷ ̵"̴I̷t̶'̵s̶ ̴Y̴o̸u̵r̴ ̶F̶A̶u̴l̵T̷"̸ ̶"̸D̵i̷e̴!̶"̵ ̶"̸Y̵o̴u̴r̵ ̸M̴o̶n̸s̶t̶e̷r̴!̸"̶ "S̷n̶a̶p̵ ̵O̶u̶t̷ ̸o̴f̷ ̷I̵T̸!̴'"

S̸T̷O̸P̵ ̷I̶T̶!

I could faintly hear Ms. Yaovilda cry out to me, but the voices cried louder. I couldn't hear her clearly, I couldn't see clearly, and my body was trembling unconditionally. I dropped to the floor, my spider limbs receding back into my body, 'My hands?' I can't feel anything, 'Am I bleeding!?' I'm burning up but I can sense something around us. 'It's not just the Wound, It's-!' The Pressure! It's too strong. 'I can't stand it any longer,' I can't think straight, "Steamy!" 'Who is That?' """C̴h̸i̴l̸d̷!̷""" my mind's going blank, 'i'm falling… asleep.'

"Steamy!" Yaovilda yelled, "Stay with me!"

"She's bleeding everywhere, I need to find where her wound is!" Carefully removing Streamys top the sight of her body leaves General Yaovilda in an undying shock, "Wh- What Is This?!?" It's a miracle that she was even able to move from a wound such as this one. But her body, why does she have so many scars, and on top of that, what are these round things? Is this her-

"Ms. Yaovilda-"

"S-Steamy! You're awake, but you- What is this?"

I reached for her hand, "Please, Find Grandma-" and handed her the communication stone.

"Her body went limp again, I don't know what caused her to freak out so much but it's clear, whatever's happening to her is something only she can deal with."

"ARH! HAIL THE NATION OF SAGA!!!"

"We all have our own battles we must face so.. Under the name of this Nation, I, 1st General Yaovilda Veta promise to find and protect your Grandmother, Ruler of Solitude… But before I could do any of that, I must protect you to Ms. Steamy. So please, rest well. "

Those were the last words I heard before completely blacking out… I thank you Ms. Yaovilda.'

Floating in this endless void we humans call our inner minds, it is here where I felt the most at peace with.

"Here you are safe," it said,

"Here we are saved," they said,

"Here, I am safe" I sai-

"Steamy." a voice echoed throughout my mind.

Saenathea?

"Grab my arm,"

Grabbing her arm, she pulled me out of the void and into a courtyard filled with beauty. I can see, "Wait, I can see!" the beautiful flowers and the warm heat of the sun, "It's such a beautiful place" and the person right in front of me, a beautiful lady with light white hair, and pale white skin, with 6 ruby like eyes and 8 limbs of a spider, "Saenathea!" I yelled, embracing her fully with all my heart.

"Don't be too excited now," Saena said, "Sit down, and have some tea while we chat."

"Okay," It's amazing that I could see her, but maybe I might be able to see 005 or 2-35 too… "You know Saenathea, you're very, very beautiful."

"Ho ho, don't flatter me now,"

"But it's the Truth! You are very beautiful, on the inside, and on the outside. I can see it very well."

"... Then thank you for your compliment. But don't get distracted now, you passed out due to your extreme fatigue. Steamy, you must always take care of your body, not just for you, but also for us."

"For us?"

"You know this not, but what you feel is what we feel, and what you see is what we see, without your permission we are like birds in a cage."

"What do you mean?"

"Steamy, you are the keeper of souls, the Warden for the soulless. Monsters are not like humans who have an afterlife, but with you and your ability, you are our afterlife. When a monster dies, we decay into nothingness,"

"Like you've never even existed."

"That's right, only a few of us has ever had a soul, for example the great dragon Asgorath-"

*Thunder!!*

"..."

"Hey, stop with the spiritual talk, can you narrow it down for me?"

"Ah" She sighed, "Alright. By soul, I mean your spirit, like monsters, humans have a body and a mind, they can both feel emotions such as love or hate, and they can both desire things like hunger or thirst. But unlike monsters, humans have what is called a soul. Do you know what the meaning of a soul is?" Saena asked, filling up my cup of tea.

"It's the spiritual or immaterial part of a human being, it's immortal..

"Yes,"

"It's the emotional and intellectual energy of intensity, or in other words the hidden half of humanity"

"Yes. But that is both right, and wrong. The soul or in your definition, the 'spirit' is more than just an immortal part of the human being, it is more than what you might think. For it is a part of 'God' "

Wait. A part of God? Wh- what do you mean by that!?!

"You may not understand any of this now, but remember this, 'You are from the world but not of the world' Human souls are a part of God, it's the connection to your life and its purpose,"

To, my life, and its purpose… "Then why don't monsters have souls?"

"Oh my…" she shivered, "We monsters do not know why we don't have a soul. But, as it is your purpose in life to find your path and unravel your calling, it is our purpose to guide you to your path…"

"Maybe that is why we monsters do not have a soul" she muttered…

"Then… What about you?"

"Humans have free will, they have the ability to shape the world, and the ability to destroy it. They can, and have affected everything around them. But, the most important ability they have is to either accept God, or deny Him. It's Something we monsters can't."

She ignored my question…

"God Loves his creations, but because his most favored creation became corrupted, and oppressed by the wicked hearts of others, it caused a surge in the world that leads to the downfall of Humanity. And with that, God destroyed the World, and saved it many times over."

"Saena, you're not making any sense, you say one thing but you then say another, it's like you're in a rush to speak, but you don't have to be. Talk with me."

"You don't under-STAND!" She yelled, "S̴t̴e̷a̷m̷y̸,̵ you must find your purpose, you must find your calling. For you don't have much time, because They are moving Now. You, the Holder of souls and the Warden for the soulless, must Save Them! You are-!"

"Steamy!"

Huh? Is that grandma's voice?

"Look at me!! You must Find the Word, to understand all that I've been saying. It is up to you now S̴t̴e̷a̷m̷y̸. Please remember this, You Must Guide Us-!"

My body started to fade away, am I waking up?

"Please, I beg of you! Please Steamy… Remember this–"

"Steamy!" They yelled,

"Ms. Steamy!"

"Grandma?"

She hugged me, "My God, I'm so glad that you're still alive."

"Grandma-"

"Oh my child, I am so glad that you're safe." Tears started falling down her face, "I don't know what I Would've Done Without You."

"No Grandma, it's okay, look I'm okay now. So there's nothing to be so worried about. But I'm more concerned about you, Are you okay-?"

*Smack!*

"Owie!"

"How Can You Be Okay!" She yelled, "Could you not see the giant gaping hole in your body?"

"Unm…" I mustered,

"Sigh- Forget that.. I was only able to heal your flesh wounds, it was like something was stopping me from helping you any further. But I don't think its a bad thing, your wound is healing itself all on its own, "

"But still.." I embraced her, "Thank you Grandma."

"I didn't expect them to plan this surprise attack. " A voice said out of nowhere.

"Who is that?" I asked, trying to sit myself up.

"Here,"

Grandma picked me up, "Thank you,"

"Now answer her question, Who are you?"
