Chapter 1 - 1. Human of Half Frog

The edge of the estuary in the Land of Jawata. There was a female physician who lived without a surname. She had no caste. Living in a cottage house.

Sakawuni Kamala never knew about love and being loved before. Her life was devotion. Not a slave, but almost a lady. An expert in the field of rare medicine, she also mixed reptile and amphibian herbs. Few recognize the Sakawuni as a civilization of both ancient and modern medicine. She could assemble dead bodies into living troops. Sakawuni Kamala, the physician with special knowledge and miracles!

Smooth brown olive cheeks hit by the afternoon sun. One arm hugged a basket full of herbs. She watched the movements of small fish mingling on the banks of river.

"What are you doing, Kanda Lorr?" asked Sakawuni at the surface of the water. Sakawuni wait for a figure to appear. Water bubbles appeared and then the form of a shirtless man with a handsome face finally came out of the ripples on the bank of the river. He didn't answer anything. Immediately rose from the surface of the water and stepped onto the rocks.

"Kanda, the potion has been ready for you since an hour ago," said Sakawuni somewhat ignored.

"I know," He answered. The man was called Kanda Lorr.*

The man was Sakawuni's husband. His name was Lorr En. They married because of a medical emergency. There was no love for each other. They had been three years since their marriage. Never even touch. Sakawuni wanted to ask about continuing the marriage based on medical treatment, would it be continued or would it be better to just end it? After all, the main task is to treat her husband until recovered.

"Evening meal, I have prepared for you," Sakawuni continued word modestly.

"Just put it on the table," answered Lorr En with a deadpan expression. As usual, he was busy spending the afternoon serving villagers who needed care, treatment, and medical action.

"Kanda," Sakawuni stopped, wanting to ask something. Then her husband's face turned.

"This ...," Sakawuni hesitated, continuing speech, "... about Wening."

One name was called, but Lorr En kept silent.

"People are waiting for me on the pier," Lorr En hastily turned the subject away. It's always like that whenever you want to talk about another woman named 'Wening'.

"The medicine from the skin of the female Green Lizard will soon completely heal you, Kanda," Sakawuni trailed behind Lorr.

"You will be completely healed in no time. It will regenerate the Golden Frog's cultivation in your body," She was forced to talk about something else that Lorr En cared about more. But remained silent, he don't say much. Lorr En has been cold towards Sakawuni for a long lifetime together.

"I know it's not love. Come back to Wening, if that's what Kanda wants," said Sakawuni. She couldn't pretend to be silent. Finally, Lorr En speaks, "You're my wife, why talk about other women when you're with me?"

"I think that Kanda will be happy with her. This house is too cold and frozen," said Sakawuni, "There is no warmth from the children's voices like in other homes," talked Sakawuni much more.

"Are you talking about children or talking about an empty house?" Lorr En caught the discussion.

"Do you want to have children from me?" said Lorr En. As if offered water amid thirst, Sakawuni gaped slightly. Somewhat She was surprised to hear Lorr En speak.

"What about 100 children from the first birth?" Lorr En's words left Sakawuni unable to answer anything other than gaping wider.

"Kanda?!" shocked Sakawuni to hear 100 children, thinking that Lorr En was making a terrible joke.

"I'm the Frog Warrior. My ancestors used to have at least 100 babies from one birth, it's strange and terrible for normal humans. But that's us," Lorr En explained.

"Are you ready to have children?" Lorr En asked back, "The Babies of Gunggali's Frog Warriors will be born and reproducing soon," said Lorr En excitedly. His wife gasped.

"Kanda, our children, are they humans or frogs?" Sakawuni was confused, so then surprised to worry.

"Human of Half Frog," answered Lorr En, shaking Sakawuni's mind. Unsuspectedly, Lorr En had only told him about his strange cultivation, a kind of frog with formidable strength. Now, he told about an army of babies like himself to continue the generation of Frogmen.

"Frogman Warriors."

"What scary, to you. They are the Fairy World Warriors."

Lorr En took a seat beside Sakawuni, saying many things behind his quiet side so far.

"Love can be built. Love can be planted. It grows and thrives," said Lorr En, holding out one hand for Sakawuni. The woman greeted him with a faint smile. Lorr wasn't usually like that. So weird.

"Kanda, do you love me?" one sentence that had been unable to be asked, finally Sakawuni's lips spoke it.

"I know who is in your heart, Kanda. Always her. In solitude, in sleep, and awake. Always her," said Sakawuni but she didn't mean to change who the woman her husband loves until now.

"Sekar Wening."

The name was called again.

"Let's start our own life," Lorr En did not deny the existence of women in his past. The one he married and had to leave.

"Let him be with the others, Shiji Wungsu," Lorr En continued a name that he didn't want to be told. Jealousy was petrified. Sekar Wening was no longer his wife. Although still strong, the feeling of love and belonging to her. The man was known by all Jawata's people as Mahapatih, Shiji Wungsu, now he is the husband of Sekar Wening.

"Let's start our first night, shall we?" weird and magic, Lorr En suddenly asked for something that hasn't been done yet. Half teasing, Lorr En blinks one of his eyes. Unusual like that.

"What happened to you, Kanda Lorr?" to the extent that Sakawuni was afraid, that her husband might have taken the wrong medicine.

"Our 100 babies, are you ready to give birth?" whispered Lorr En. He took a breath close to Sakawuni's ear.

"I give birth to 100 babies at once, how it works?!" shocked Sakawuni wide-eyed at imagining things beyond the normal sense of a woman.

"You don't know how it works yet. Just follow my lead," smiled Lorr En invitingly. Sakawuni smirked.

"My future children, I will name them Lorr Sha, Lorr Bha, Lorr Vann. The tough males. The strongest which the Golden Frog One, I will name him Lintang Nirvana."

"As for the girls, I will name them Rymbin, Tharsyrri, and Gummari. You can also give the names for girls," said Lorr En, chuckling happily, how imagining that one day her house on the banks of the estuary would be full of children like her.

"Kanda?!" gasping for breath, Sakawuni imagined her husband's words.

"I can't have everything with Wening, but I can have companion children," Lorr En continued his words. Unexpectedly this is so sweet, the husband who has not seen a happy expression.
