Chereads / I Have the Best Bloodline / Chapter 14 - Land Immortal

Chapter 14 - Land Immortal

On the martial arts competition stage, Yu Yanning's palms were burning with orange flames from her palm to her shoulder blades. Her fists were wearing the Tiger Fist, dancing with a whooshing sound. With a punch, she hit the chin of the opponent on the stage, directly sending the two-meter-tall burly man flying seven to eight meters into the air.

"I won!"

Yanning dispersed the flames on her arms and raised her hands to cheer. The crowd outside the arena had bet on her winning, causing wave after wave of cheers for her.

"I seem to understand. Why was she muttering about wanting a suitable husband every day?"

Su Yan sat on the shoulder of a cultivator and looked at Yu Yanning, who had won in the arena. He silently ridiculed her in his heart.

Initially, Su Yan had thought that Yu Yanning was brave, but now it seemed she was not brave but foolish!

She chose the Tiger Finger Fist as the magic tool. Moreover, it was the relatively explosive fire element of the five elements.

No wonder this little girl believed the fox could bring her husband. For this reason, she even held his balls to ask for marriage. Yu Yanning seemed to know that it was difficult for her to marry.

Su Yan watched the arena match from above while the middle-aged cultivator, whose shoulder Su Yan was sitting, carefully glanced at Chong Qiong. After observing aunt's expression and making sure that she wasn't going to continue slapping him, he let out a sigh of relief.

The girl before him looked fourteen or fifteen, but

her cultivation was extremely high and powerful. She could not even see through her. If Chong Qiong had slapped him, the middle-aged man would have been able to fly dozens of miles away.

Chong Qiong never revealed her cultivation level, and whenever Su Yan asked about her aunt, she would only reply, "It was enough."

Because Chong Qiong thought that it was just enough. There was nothing to show off.

Cultivators started from the Body Refining Level, then upgraded to the Qi Refining Level, Foundation Building Level, Aurous Core Level, Newborn Baby level, Immortal Level, and then to the special Level where Chong Qiong was now.

A stage where she had passed the Heavenly Tribulation of the Immortal Level but had not reached the Form Synthesis Level.

It was Half-step Land Immortal level!

This was a level that required accumulation. Only by completing the transformation of the body of flesh and blood could one step into the Form Synthesis Level in a brand-new manner. The immortals who lived on land were like natural disasters.

The people in the Xia Yu Dynasty were open-minded, and guarded by the emperor who was comparable to an immortal.

Many small sects, or some beasts who found the forests unbearably boring, would choose to settle down in the Xia Yu Dynasty and pass the half-step Land Immortal Level.

As long as nothing happened to the Emperor of Xia Yu, the small sects and half-step Land Immortals did not have to worry. The big sects would suppress or take advantage of your weakness to kill you.

However, in the Xia Yu Dynasty, the emperor was the law. High-level cultivators were forbidden to fight in the city.

They could live in peace until they reached the Land Immortal Realm.

...

As Yu Yanning left the arena, Su Yan gradually lost interest in the competition.

There were not many big scenes in the battle between low-level cultivators. It was just a spectator's view for those who did not place a bet.

It was a battle of martial arts techniques, and no scenes of magical techniques existed.

Su Yan watched the fight for a while before he got off the kind-hearted uncle's shoulder and thanked him. The burly man almost bowed to Su Yan in return.

"Sorry."

After Chong Qiong left with Su Yan, the airborne cultivators watching the battle like normal spectators gloated at the burly man who had slapped himself. They laughed happily and said, "Look at you. You're the only one with a big mouth, right? Only you can talk!"

"Slap harder and make your mouth swell."

Su Yan squeezed his way from the back to the front.

Although they would say excuse me and thank you along the way, the cultivators did not let him.

However, after they noticed Chong Qiong's existence, they all kindly made way for Su Yan to squeeze into the front.

Only the burly man who had just lost money was shouting.

Chong Qiong raised her hand to slap him, but the burly man quickly helped Su Yan up to his shoulder to watch the match.

A slap from a half-step Land Immortal was more convincing than the charm of a young nine-tailed fox.

This slap would be earth-shattering.

The cultivators wanted to see Chong Qiong make a move, but unfortunately, the burly man was too cowardly. They did not see them fight.

...

Su Yan did not know about his aunt's little trick for now. He thought Xia Yu was open-minded, the country was rich, and the people were strong. The rich life made the humans here more friendly.

Su Yan followed Xiao Jin's address and found a tailor shop. After asking for the shop owner's name, he confirmed it was the shopkeeper with the surname Yu.

Su Yan took out the spider silk from his storage ring and asked the shopkeeper if he could weave the spider silk into cloth.

Shopkeeper Yu looked at it for a while before replying that she could weave it, but it would take three days.

They could also customize ready-made clothes here. He could make a sample first and pick them up in five days if he needed them.

Su Yan thought momentarily and used a charcoal pen to draw his rough idea of stockings and sexy clothes on the paper.

Shopkeeper Yu was stunned by these drawings. Ordinary girls would find it hard to walk on the streets in such sexy clothes. Even female cultivators might not be bold enough to wear Su Yan's drawings.

However, the shopkeeper did not care. As long as the money was paid, she would accept the service even if she had to put on a bikini.

"Come back in five days to take a sample. If there's no problem, I'll cut it out for you today."

Shopkeeper Yu patted his chest and promised. He also glanced at Chong Qiong.

He sighed, "Young people know how to play."

"I'm his aunt. Why are you looking at me?"

After being scanned by Shopkeeper Yu, it was as if a tape measure was measuring her. Aunt glared at Tailor Yu's chest, making Shopkeeper Yu look embarrassed.

After settling the matter of the cloth, Little Aunt brought Su Yan away from her sad place.

Six hundred dans of spirit stones!

Thirty thousand kilograms of spirit stones! Becoming a government official is more profitable than us shop owners!

At the thought of this, Aunt still felt stifled. She did not want to stay here at all.

....

"Oh right, aunt, I know you can become an official after passing the imperial examination, but what about after passing the martial arts examination? Did all the candidates enter the court as military officers?" Su Yan asked curiously.

He was riding in the examination convoy. There were hundreds of examinees in the convoy. This was just one carriage. Su Yan had seen other convoys on the way. Each convoy took hundreds of examinees and rushed to the main city of Xia Yu.

After passing the imperial and martial arts examinations, what one could do was a common-sense question for the people in the Xia Yu. There was no special answer or explanation for this.

However, Su Yan, an outsider, would not know if anyone answered him.

"Martial Arts Examination? After passing the martial arts examination, there would be roughly three levels, right? The most outstanding candidates would go to the Beast Suppression Department. They would have a chance to be the bodyguard of the emperor. For the next level, they would be the leaders of the border army. Those who barely passed the exams would be assigned to the major counties or vassal kings."

"Entering the Beast Suppression Department is equivalent to being a royal guard. In the future, if you do well, you can work beside the emperor. Those assigned to the army can return to the court if they can make it out. The rest can only be said to be of any status. Whether they have a future or not depends purely on their ability."

"Passing the imperial examination makes you a civil servant, but where you get assigned depends on your results and luck."

"Are you interested in the work? If you want to go, I suggest that you marry a princess. The lifespan of the officials of the imperial court was getting longer and longer. The three prime ministers of the current court were the same group of people who followed the first emperor."

"I'm afraid that you won't be able to live like those old men even when you're old."

Over a thousand people were in the martial arts competition, all of whom had passed the provincial and imperial city preliminary examinations.

The imperial court would select the thirty most outstanding people and assign them to the Beast Suppression Department directly under the emperor's jurisdiction to oversee border inspection.

Two hundred would be assigned to the border army to train themselves, and the remaining three hundred would be sent home after being given a title.

The title of High Scholar was not worth much, but it was true that they could get a raise if they worked in the local government offices. That was why Aunt said that the rest of the people could do whatever they wanted, purely based on their abilities.
