The wolf looked confused, and so, Ruudi began to explaining.
"Look here shifter, I'll be honest with you. I wanted to eat you. And don't get me wrong, I still do. But that doesn't mean it will be the end of you."
"You are.... interesting" Ruudi said. "I've seen many people, shifters and even vampires. Well, many might be an exaggeration, but still, I've seen my fare share(on the internet, maybe). And you are an exception to them because, you managed to interest me."
Ruudi gripped it's heart a bit tighter. "I'm not a vampire, not like the cullens or those stone cold bitches. And I'm not a shifter like you lot. And I'm better than either of them. So, I'm giving you a choice. I can heal you. Make you stronger, make you better. I can save you. But in exchange, I want you. So tell me..... do you agree?"
The wolf didn't blink but stared at the person who had his hand around it's heart. Every heart beat was painful, constantly reminding it of the stakes.
To it, this was all a massive mistake. Even before shifting, it had always desired a solitary life. One away from the countless rabble that plagued it's days. And so, when it obtained the powers to shift one fateful day, it took the initiative to become a loner.
Away from tha pack the others formed around. Away from the human society that was as dull as it could get. And now, she had somehow found herself in the menu of some freak. And it was not just any freak, oh no. It was a freaky freak. One that managed to take down a shifter like it wax a walk in the park. The wolf didn't know if it was friendly towards the humans, but looking at the creepy layer of blood that was covering it, the wolf could take a guess. And so, it blinked once. Better to die than turn into something hideous like that.
"Well, too bad, you don't get a choice." The thing wrenched out it's heart with a smile. And as the darkness settled in, the only thought the wolf had, was,
'Then why the hell did you even ask?"
--------------------------------------'
"Tastes like tofu if you ask me" I commented as I ate the heart. Sadly for me, the the meat was not as appetising as I had hoped, but it was better than many of the others I had consumed.
'I don't want to interrupt you or anything' Artalis interrupted my eating bliss, 'but the shifter's dying '
"Oh, shit! Right!" I had totally forgotten about that. Pulling off an arm blade, I slashed off my wrist before stuffing it, along with my bleeding stump into the chest cavity. Ichor flowed for a moment before the hand rapidly healed, sealing the wound. It would grow back, but I would have to wait a for couple of dozen minutes.
On the other hand, the other hand inside the body of the fallen wolf, along with the Ichor began to work its miracles. Bones mended, the marrow generated more blood and the hand morphed itself into the new heart of the creature.
"She'll be my right hand, Just so you know. " I joked to Artalis as I waved my stump, gesturing at the twiching body, and she sighed in exasperation.
"Ha ha. That was almost funny as ... I can't think of anything" Artalis gave up, then picked up a more important point "Wait what do you mean she?"
"Well, obviously it's a woman, i checked before I started tracking her" I replied. "Thats how a harem works."
"What the hell are you talking about now?"
"What?" I questioned. "That's how protagonist gets their harem you know? Beat a magical creature to death and show mercy at the final moments. "I explained "Boom! The girl transforms, declare their undying love , the end"
I swear i heard a mental face palm." That's not how love works."
"Yes it is! I've seen it in several movies, manga, anime and even manhwa."
Well, I was kidding with her, but maybe it's true?
The body began to tremble, almost as if it was being electrocuted, before becoming perfectly still. Then it suddenly shifted back into a human who gasped as she took a breath.
"Who are you? And what did you do to me?" She turned, her eyes almost burning a hole on my face with intensity.
"Well, hello to you too"
