Chapter 23 - Dark Magic...

The Professor was blown away by some mysterious dark energy.

The Emperor took action as he teleported to the arena and rushed to the dark energy, yet he as well was repelled by the same force. The audience was shocked by the unfolding of events in front of their eyes.

A dark cloud came out of Hector's lifeless body.

"Dark Magic!" exclaimed the Emperor

"This explains why Hector was acting weird! and the source of his surge of power must've come from it! But this doesn't explain why I couldn't sense it,"

Kyle didn't understand what was happening, still shocked from killing for the first time, and it being an opponent in a tournament simply because of the misuse of a technique. Both The Professor and The Emperor who came suddenly were thrown away by this mysterious dark energy oozing out of Hector's lifeless body, yet Kyle was just sitting there with Hector in his arms.

The dark cloud slowly took shape, and an atrocious figure appeared, looking like a human yet so different from one. It had purple skin, 4 horns coming out of its head, no brows, eyes blacker than the abyss, a nose uglier than a witch's, four arms, two legs, and a curved tail coming out of its back.

The creature slowly developed a sinister smile that sent a shiver down everyone's back.

A screeching sound could be heard as it opened its mouth, "AAA, AAA, I-Is this it? Human language?" the creature looked around noticing the fear in everyone's eyes which only made it smile more sinisterly, "Ahhhh, I must've got it right. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH" Its laugh deafened everyone there, and with every second of its voice heard, people going crazy. The emperor instantly put up a barrier to protect those nearest to the demon in fear of their heads exploding if they listen to its laugh for even a second longer.

Kyle was stunned, unable to move or breathe. By this point, he had already forgotten everything that happened between him and Hector with his body shaking violently, and fear piercing straight through his soul.

"A-Ahem, well anyway it has been a while since I've seen humans. Maybe 16 years?" pondered the creature as if all that's happening around it had nothing to do with it and continued, "I came here to announce the message of the 'Supreme Demon God'" The demon reinforced his voice with magic as he said "THE DEMON GOD WILL BE LIBERATED IN TWO YEARS! AT THAT TIME, WITH HIM LEADING THE DEMON RACE WE WILL INVADE THE WORD OF THE LIVING, KILLING EVERYONE IN OUR WAY, AND ENSLAVING THOSE WILLING TO SURRENDER. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE AS THE DEMON GOD REIGNS SUPREME" This message could be heard across the 5 continents, with the higher masters' faces aghast.

'F*ck, This shouldn't have happened. It's not time for it yet!' thought the emperor, frustrated yet not surprised.

The demon slowly moved his finger as he pointed at Kyle saying with a sinister smile, "You. I've seen you somewhere before," before disappearing, leaving only a dark cloud.

The dark cloud rushed to Kyle, entering from all the holes in his body, knocking him unconscious.

"NO!" screamed the Emperor before rushing to Kyle, carrying him to a special room.

There, there was another person who was clearly an expert, looked at the Emperor and said in a hurry,

"Quickly, put him here!" as he pointed towards a magical crib that had the special effect of calming ones mind, making examining a patient easier so the doctor won't have to worry about resistance.

This place looked like the private room of an alchemist, a very high level one at that, as it contained everything one might need. From a private research section to potions and scrolls scattered all around and the proper tools to cure people. The alchemist didn't ask any questions as he also heard the message the demon had just sent.

"He was invaded by Dark Magic... Save him, Now!" ordered the Emperor

Austin Chronos, a member of the Chronos member who was an 8-circle alchemist immediately tried doing what Hugo just ordered, yet couldn't.

If it was normal Dark Magic, he might've been able to remove it. But it was Dark Magic from a Demon Emperor, equivalent to a 9-circle mage from the Human race, making it impossible to remove.

Although Demon Emperors might be equivalent to 9-circle mages from the human race, they are much more inferior, as their foundation is much lighter than a Human's, so the reason why The Emperor couldn't attack the demon despite him being stronger, must've had something to do with the Demon God.

"I can't..."

The Emperor was almost raged, before remembering that his raging would make him lose control of his powers, killing half of the continent from that alone, which made him calm down.

"F*ck, now the whole world will fall apart!" said Hugo while scratching his head, moving forth and back in the room, looking distressed before going back to the arena.

There, he removed all the remaining Dark residue in the atmosphere. He was relieved when he found no casualties after scanning through the continent. Just some of the people closest to the event passed out.

The emperor woke everyone up with a simple clap. As he announced, "What you've heard from that demon is true. There will be a war soon, in 2 years. We have been preparing for this war from the founding of the Empire, and have kept it a secret to not spread fear throughout the citizens.

Anyone over 7-circle already knows of the situation, so don't worry as we're already prepared!" The Emperor then left back to the Austin's room where Kyle was.

The crowd caused a commotion as each stated their thoughts.

"HOW COULD THIS BE?!!!"

"DIDN'T THE FOUNDER KILL THE DEMON GOD?"

"HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? HOW IS MY FAMILY GOING TO SURVIVE NOW?"

A lot more people said similar things, all frustrated with the current situation.

Back at the Research Faculty of The Chronos Family's Alchemist...

"What happened to him? Is he okay?" asked the Emperor, worried.

"It's hopeless, I can't save him..." replied Austin.

"Examine him again, no matter what, you need to try your best!"

Austin was confused why the Emperor treasured this kid so much, yet he didn't dare question his judgement, and once again examined Kyle. Austin was speechless, as he found the Dark Magic inside Kyle's body stable, and not trying to take over him.

The Skotadi element is evil. It is the element of the demons, it feeds off negative emotions, like fear, hate, worry, etc... The problem is that the human mind can't take it, as the dark energy takes over them. Yet that wasn't happening to Kyle.

It was stable inside him, like any other element, it was unbelievable! Austin almost believed that Kyle was a demon had Hugo not brought him here.

"H-He's fine! He's totally fine!" exclaimed Austin, hesitantly smiling at Hugo.

Hugo looked relieved as he let out a sigh, saying, "Looks like I was right about him! That kid really has something that goes against fate itself!"

While the Chronos and Choros elements interfere with the rules of the world, as primary elements.

The Skotadi element goes completely against the rules of the world, an anomaly.

However without it, the rules of the world wouldn't exist, as all elements are needed for the world to exist, time and space, light and dark, fire, water, wind, and earth.

"Since he's fine that's good! Now, we need to have a meeting" said Hugo as he sent a telepathic message to all mages above the 8th rank, while ordering a space mage to deploy a private space for them.

"Why can't you just use the 8-circle spell 'Rewind Time', going back in time to before the final match, lead Hector to a separate space and deal with him with the help of the Patriarch of the Choros Family?" asked Austin, knowing that a 9-circle mage using it would have better results than an 8-circle doing it.

"No, I can't... If I do it, I would be interfering with the casualty of the world directly. The scale of the rewind would produce greater side effects than it's worth. I would probably die trying to do such a thing, as I'm going to have to rewind time to erase an event that involves things that would change the complete order of the world, and considering the fact that we're going to war in 2 years no matter what, there's no point in doing it. At least, now we can prepare for it with the rest," replied Hugo.
