Chapter 3 - Content of The Letter

The letter that came in included the date on which the academy will open and as well rules that students must follow during their stay in the Magical Academy.

It was designed as followed:

"Dear Kyle Fowler,

We are very pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into the Magic Academy of the Sierra Kingdom.

You will undergo education in the Academy for 4 years.

The new semester will start on September 10 in the year 998. The rules that you have to follow throughout the school year are the following:

_Violence between students is only permitted in duels.

_Respect the given curfew.

_One can only use artefacts after getting permission from a supervisor.

_Dark magic is forbidden.

We are very much looking forward to meeting you when you start with us next term.

Congratulations once more.

Yours sincerely, Professor Stacy Nero"

"I did not expect the professor in charge of your class to be Professor Stacy Nero from the House of Water!" exclaimed Kaden, clearly shocked by the fact that an important member of the Dukedom of Nero, House of Water was a mere professor in the Academy.

"I guess this just shows how much his majesty Hugo Chronos values the Academy," said Kyle.

It is not surprising that Kaden Fowler was shocked by such news. The Sierra Kingdom consists of 6 main families with each family mastering one element, being:

The Royal Family, The Chronos family, House of Time.

The Dukedom of Choros, House of Space.

The Dukedom of Nero, House of Water.

The Dukedom of Fotia, House of Fire.

The Dukedom of Gi, House of Earth.

The Dukedom of Anemos, House of Wind.

So having an important member from the House of Water teaching in an academy is no easy feat.

"But to think the new semester will start in only 12 days!" said Pearl with a sad longing tone. "Don't worry Mom I'm sure there are some vacations during the year, plus Kierra is going to be there so it'll be fine", commented Kyle, although he mainly said this to reassure his mother that he'll be fine in a foreign place, he still couldn't hide his excitement as he was going to see his fiancee for the first time in a couple of months.

"That's right, Kierra's already in the academy because she's a year older than you. But don't slack off now, I'm sure she's already a 4th circle mage. It wouldn't be nice if she becomes stronger than you now, would it?" said Kaden sarcastically.

"Well, well, let's stop teasing the boy, honey. Sabrina, go and prepare the things Kyle might need for the Academy," commented Pearl.

"Yes, ma'am" instantly replied Sabrina, the maid who brought the letter a while ago.

12 days later...

The Fowler House has never been this chaotic. Chaotic to a degree you'd think there's a war occurring soon, yet it was merely them getting Kyle ready for his first academic day.

"Come on Mom, you've been getting me ready for the past 2 hours! I'm gonna be late!" shouted Kyle, clearly tired from his mom who's been rearranging his hair and still picking out his clothes.

While Pearl was busy with his appearance, Kaden was busy arranging the best carriage for his first day at the academy. The first day of the academy was not a normal day as it was a day for nobles to show off their power and wealth through their children and carriages, and that was the reason why the House of Fowler was in such a state.

After Pearl finally finished her hellish session with Kyle, a beautifully designed carriage that also gave off a domineering vibe with 10 properly trained guards, each on a horse was waiting for Kyle in front of the Fowler House's mansion.

"Don't you dare forget sending us letters every day informing us of your wellbeing!" said Pearl threateningly while crying. "Don't worry, I will," replied Kyle slightly scared.

"Hahaha, no need to worry about him after all we were the ones who raised that boy," said Kaden trying to hide his sadness with his optimistic attitude.

Luckily for Kyle, nobles were allowed to take one servant with them to the academy for which he picked Sabrina, a capable maid that personally overlooked him since he was a child.

The Magic Academy was located in the capital city of Sierra Kingdom, Rusvil, home of the Royal Palace. It was a 4-day trip. Fortunately, Kaden prepared with the rest of the servants, things that would help them on this trip and help make sleeping out in the open comfortable.

Kyle was quite excited about such a trip as all his previous trips were made in the presence of his parents. He felt that he was being liberated from the constant watch of his parents but that was masked by the reality of him being alone in a foreign place.[1]

After the servants, guards, and the horseman made sure that everything is ready to go, they set off to the Magic Academy.

When it was around 6-7 pm the guards started setting the camps as setting the camp without light could risk placing it under a dead or damaged tree with limbs that could fall on you. The guards took turns watching over the camp throughout the night while Kyle couldn't sleep mainly because of the uneven ground under him and it being his first time experiencing camping.

Kyle was a child who liked to experience things, but being born a noble put restrictions on that. However now he was experiencing such things and that made him happy.

Luckily, Kyle got used to camping and easily fell asleep on the 2nd and 3rd night. By the time they reached Rusvil nightfall came, and so they rented an inn for the night and then headed to the academy in the morning

The capital, Rusvil was a much more beautiful place than Kyle could've ever imagined.

It was a city bustling with all kinds of people and carriages, the scenery was spectacular as the buildings on both sides of the roads were designed with a special type of wood that you'd only find near the capital, and with all types of fancy stores and restaurants that Kyle could barely resist jumping out of the carriage and spending his whole day doing nothing but shopping and eating. Apart from the unique buildings was the building that stood out the most, the one in the middle of the city, The Royal Palace. It was built with the same type of wood used for other buildings albeit fancier, it was shaped like a mountain with the flag of the country waving gracefully up top.

[1]: Here, I gave him "being alone" just to prove the severity of the situation Kyle's about to face not him being literally alone.
