Toronto Pearson International Airport, Toronto, Canada
Simi is waiting for her plane to arrive. The plane got delayed due to bad weather and was already an hour late. It has been five long years since she first came to Toronto. She made several good friends while she was in middle school and high school. Simi could never forget those golden times with her friends who helped her get used to Toronto's environment and culture. But at that time, the only thought in her mind was her home country Bangladesh. She still remembers the humid weather of Dhaka, the sweet and friendly people, and all the friends and relatives in that place. But she was thinking of one person in specific. Someone who she can never forget. Someone who gifted her with the best moments of her life. Someone who also gave the greatest regret and sorrow of her life.
"Simi," a voice called her name from behind. It was her mother Fatema Akhtar. "Our plane has arrived. Let's go," said her mother. Simi grabbed her bags and started to walk behind her mother. After ten minutes, they finally boarded the plane. Simi got a window-side seat while her mother sat on the seat beside her. The plane soon became airborne and Simi could slowly see the buildings and houses disappear below the clouds. In a few hours, she will reach Dhaka, a place she is so familiar with. Simi whispered to herself, "I wish I can meet him one last time."
