The wedding preparations have almost reached perfection. Indira really didn't feel enthusiastic, and felt everything was bland. The arranged marriage that his parents made did not make him happy. Even though they say that the candidate is a good person, but to him it is still a stranger.
So far, Indira has not really thought about a life partner, because in her heart she has kept a name that will never be timeless since five years ago. But until now the owner of that name only thought of him as a friend, Akira could do nothing but wait.
But waiting wasn't part of his family's interest, the whole family wanted him to get married quickly. Indira often refused with the reason of her work, but now that reason has no meaning anymore.
Tomorrow is engagement day. And Indira's heart was getting restless and sick. I feel like crying and hugging that person and complaining but where is he?
Does he know that tomorrow is his engagement day with someone else? Indira saw the faces of her friends one by one, all of her friends were alumni of her school. Of course they came among all of them only unmarried Indira. So they are more excited than the people who are about to get engaged.
Indira took a deep breath seeing Narendra's face smiling softly, the guy seemed to have come in a hurry after finishing his work at the university, it was clear from his clothes that he was still wearing an office coat. Narendra is a very good guy, always there for him, even before he got married. Narendra once asked him, 'Isn't there a chance for the two of them' and Indira politely refused. Narendra already guessed that answer and finally gave up and the next day Narendra got married.
And on the other hand there is also the most beautiful annoying ex who comes with his mother. He sat alone and kept staring at her. Indira hated him. Very.
Indira could no longer restrain herself, she stood up and left the house. Hoping the night air can release the tightness in his chest.
"I want to talk to you."
Indira almost fell over when she saw Riko, the most beautiful but annoying ex standing behind her.
"There was no more talk between us since you dared to betray me!"
Of course five years ago was the darkest day for Indira, if only that person had not arrived on time maybe now she would be up there with God.
Indira. I know you don't want to get married, I can cancel it as long as you come back with me."
Indira sighed, "Even though I don't want this marriage, I will never come back to you."
Indira! Riko shouted angrily to reach Indira but the girl had already turned and left. Indira ran away from Riko's pursuit, who kept screaming his name. Indira's breathing was heavy, she was tired but didn't want to give up, when she was almost reached by Riko's hand someone pulled her to run faster then turned the other way to hide. That figure was Narendra , without saying anything just trying to protect him within his limits. Narenda took Indira to the house of someone who might be able to cheer her up. Even though it was hard for Narendra to take her there, it meant he really had to lose Indira forever.
In front of a house they stopped. Riko also can't see his shadow.
"I… can only escort you to this place. Come in.."
Indira saw a familiar house. The house belongs to Olivia, the sister of the person she loves. Indira smiled softly, "Thank you.. you're always there for me. But this time don't do anything for me anymore. It will only make our friendship more difficult. Go home.. you must be tired after work and come straight here."
Narendra also didn't say anything, he turned and left. Now they are truly strangers. Indira only looked at Narendra's back which slowly disappeared in the darkness of the night.
"Are you sure?"
That voice that she always wanted to hear shook Indira's heart, her eyes turned red she didn't dare to look back, Indira knew that if the guy was working out of town there was no way he could come back. What's more, their distance is very far, it takes one day and one night to travel.
"...Are you sure you want to marry him?"
This time Indira was absolutely sure, with a stiff turning motion. Her eyes were red, tears running down her cheeks. "Y-you.. how did you get here.. you shouldn't have come back." Indira muttered, her voice shaking.
The boy tapped Indira's forehead gently, then wiped the tears on the girl's cheek, "Stupid! If I don't come back are you going to just keep quiet without saying anything to me?"
Indira lowered her head, "What should I tell you. Would you care?" his voice choked up. Indira really wanted to hug this guy in front of her right now and say that she didn't want to marry someone else. She only wanted to marry him. But is everything possible?
"Of course I care! So far, what is my position in your heart? asked the boy again.
Akira was surprised. But a moment later he realized, really.. apart from friends what else is on that mind. Akira steeled his heart to ask more clearly about his feelings.
"Sean Sebastian.." Indira looked into his eyes and immediately said his name directly, "So far, what is my position in your heart." Indira asked again with the same question making Sean speechless. His tongue was sore for a moment.
"A-am I not your friend.?"
Indira smiled wryly "Well, like you said, we're just friends so I thought whatever happened to me definitely had nothing to do with you." Indira looked elsewhere, her mind still raging but pain was evident in her eyes, "You asked earlier... Am I sure I want to marry him? I will answer that question. That person was at least clear with his words and actions. That person at least cares about me even though we've never met. That person… at least wants to be with me. As for you…" Indira shook her head sadly, "…You know, as people say, If you both expect it, then fight for it, but if you're only expecting it, then give up. Because only yourself knows when it's time to stop. And now I have given up hope."
Sean was taken a back, "…"
