The sweet summer fell upon me as the leaves it left stacked like pathways. Today was the first true chapter in my whole life. Further, I have people I can hold close and keep within my arms reach without strain, whom I'm truly grateful to. Those folk helped propel me to a level this high, and I won't let them down!
Although, having yet to see what this world has to offer, I'm willing to venture every nook and cranny to find what's left for me to savor a sight on.
"Hey, Nume."
"Hey, Karota." I say gently.
"That doesn't sound like you at all." She remarks.
My other half, Karota, is a person I secretly find annoying. She only wears orange, has green hair, and likes to bury herself in crop gardens pretending to be the vegetable, as her name implies.
"Oh, I see! You're profiling me now? What is that, huh? Who you writing off, huh? That's so rude." she exclaims, as she noses on my diary.
I slumped my head and arms behind my chair, "Shut up, veggie girl!"
"JUST GET OVER HERE ALREADY!!"
...
And then she reminds me, "Now.. follow up! We're late for club practice!"
...
"Fine." I exclaim.
I tag along as we make our way to the clubroom.
...
Here we were, inside the clubroom! Paper-thin walls, windows you can't shut at all, a lightbulb hanging onto dear life.. one last wire, and a fire starts. It doesn't help that we're the only two people part of this club!
Karota inhales deeply, "Haaaaaaa-hmmmm.."
...
"WELCOME TO THE JENGA AND SOLO CUP GAMING CLUB!!" Karota shouts pridefully.
And, as weird as it may seem, this was the reason why this person and I are even friends at all. A binding of plastic and bricks!
I sit on the room's singular plastic chair, while Karota sits on her cleaning cart throne. The janitor was kind enough to let us club in their school-assigned storage room.
"For our next entry in the agenda.. vice president, secretary, treasurer, AND—auditor NUME must beat my solo cup ball-shooting score of 27! And so, before that happens, new club activities shall be postponed!"
I grab the club's personal interdimensional ping-pong ball box container containing a rift in the multiverse which is small enough for a hand to reach into and grab an unending supply of ping-pong balls from. As I stretch my palm muscles, Karo-tan places the solo cup hoop (our very own miniature basketball hoop) across the room.
...
I go into the opposite corner..
And then...
ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE, SIX, SEVEN
*a minute passes*
EIGHT, NINE, TEN, ELEVEN, TWELVE, THIRTEEN, FOURTEEN, FIFTEEN
*the third minute*
SIXTEEN, SEVENTEEN, EIGHTEEN, NINETEEN, TWENTY
*a jump to minute five*
TWENTY-ONE, TWENTY-TWO, TWENTY-THREE, TWENTY-FOUR
The air pressure is rising. I'm inside a deep-sea rocket ship that is starting to fill with the pacific ocean.. The game is heating up.. The moment I snap back to my senses, 8 more minutes have passed!
TWENTY-FIVE....
TWENTY-SIX.... SEVEN...
...
My back is arched against the corner, darkness surrounds my being.. suddenly I'm creeping away in the depths of spacial matter, looking back at the deterrence of disability, disability to reflect onto all my sins and sorrows.. my mistakes and mishaps, the pain I have brought and received regarding my friends.. as I helplessly drift into this train of silent embrace from my deepest thoughts, only appearing as I'm in a state of longing for the bliss I took for granted..
...
AND THEN I SCORE!!
TWENTY-EIGHT.. TAKE..
*huff*
take...
*hah*
"Hey, Nume?"
THAT.. tha...
...
I fall to the ground.
