According to Annie, there would be someone to pick her up when she reached the shore. Annie even managed to get her a job to earn a living.
Pei Xin patrolled around. There were dock workers coming and going by the shore, and some were calling for a taxi, but she didn't see anyone coming to pick her up.
It wasn't until a luxurious looking car stopped in front of her did her senses heightened.
A young man in a suit walked out with a serious gaze.
"Are you the person that Ms. Annie asked us to arrange work for?" he asked as he sized up Pei Xin.
Pei Xin nodded and handed her ID to the other party.
The man looked at the ID card and then looked at Pei Xin. He chuckled. "Your makeup skills have improved. I almost didn't recognize you at first."
Hearing the man's words, Pei Xin felt a little strange.
"Do you know me?" she asked.
"It's only been five years. Ms. Pei Xin, you actually don't remember me?" The man chuckled.
