Sunday.
While having breakfast at home, Ye Zhenzhen accidentally came across a video about children from the mountainous regions. It was posted by a volunteer teacher named Jingjing, who documented the children's challenging daily lives. They woke up at 6 a.m. and took a two-hour trek through the mountains to get to school.
Due to a lack of water, their faces and bodies were dirty, their shoes were too small and had holes, yet they continued to wear them, some even wore tattered flip-flops during the freezing winter, with their toes swelling from the cold but still insisting on walking the mountain roads to school.
Jingjing said that as a new teacher who had only been there for a week, she was not very familiar with all these circumstances and her own abilities were limited. Additionally, since there was no internet in the mountainous area, she could only go to the town on weekends to buy shoes for the children.
