Megan and Michael watch as Rune cuts down waves of zombies, though they can see he's starting to tire, his movements becoming slower. Megan walks toward Rune and calls out, "You didn't have to lie to look cool in front of me, Rune!"
Just then, Michael glances up at the sky and freezes in shock at what he sees.
A moment earlier in the sky, Adam is breathing heavily. The jet zombie hovers before him, taunting. "The world of Terra is beautiful from up here," it sneers. "No one deserves to see such a view… except me!"
With that, the jet zombie releases thousands of missiles. Adam spins his bat at lightning speed, parrying many of the missiles away. Yet his thoughts drift to Eve—how the sight of her tears had impacted him so deeply. He doesn't understand why. I barely know her, he thinks, so why do I feel this way? He knows he should focus on the fight; the jet zombie is proving to be even stronger than Henry at his best. But Eve's image lingers in his mind.
Suddenly, a missile strikes him directly, causing a chain of explosions in the sky. As Adam starts to fall, the jet zombie unleashes another barrage of missiles, its magic aura spreading across the sky. Adam plummets downwards, surrounded by missiles.
Below on the plane, Copycat and her men stare in shock at the incoming missiles streaking down from the sky. On the plane tracks, the magical Doberman next to Nhia begins to howl, filling the air with its mournful sound.
Meanwhile, Nhia hits the ground with his fist, overwhelmed by despair. "All I wanted was to save Jasee," he cries, his voice trembling. "But she's not even here!" Tears stream down his face as he looks up at the sky. With anguish in his heart, he screams, "Jasee!" His voice echoes, intertwining with the Doberman's howling.
Nhia begins to perceive everything in slow motion as Adam and the missiles descend closer and closer to them all. Just then, he catches a glimpse of a spark of magic in the sky. A giant portal bursts open, revealing a dimension filled with dazzling lights and sparkles. Within this portal, he sees Jasee falling downwards, her arm outstretched toward him.
Filled with renewed hope, Nhia raises his arm upward, reaching toward the giant portal in the sky. "Jasee!" he shouts, determination surging through him as he longs to bridge the distance between them.
Meanwhile, in the RV, Mai watches everything unfold on her many screens. Suddenly, the rain of missiles slams into the airport, triggering a series of massive explosions that cause all her screens to go black. The shockwaves from the blasts flip the RV off the road.
Moments later, Ezzy rushes to wake Mai. "Mai! We need to get out!" she exclaims, pulling her from the RV. Together, they climb up a grassy hill, where they join Nakao, Simbad, and Jean, all of them staring at the airport engulfed in raging flames.
Overwhelmed, Mai drops to her knees, tears streaming down her face. "No… this can't be happening," she cries, her heart heavy with grief.
Nakao wraps her arms tightly around Jean, both of them sobbing together. Simbad clutches his head, his voice shaking. "There's no way they all died! Rune and everyone are much stronger than this! Somehow, they must have survived!"
Ezzy steps closer to him, tears spilling from her eyes. She hugs Simbad tightly, offering comfort as he remains in disbelief at the devastation before them. "We have to believe they're still out there," he whispers.
Mai suddenly hears a faint distortion of noise. She quickly gets to her feet and looks around, straining to catch it again. After searching for Simbad and Ezzy, she moves over to Nakao and Jean. That's when she spots Jean's earpiece resting on his shoulder. She grabs it and listens closely, her heart racing as more noise crackles through the static.
"Everyone, quiet!" Mai gestures urgently, and the others gather around her, eyes wide with anticipation.
As they listen intently, Megan's choppy voice breaks through the earpiece. "Megan?" Ezzy whispers in disbelief. They all strain to understand her words, but they're too garbled. Just then, they hear her shout, "UP!"
Everyone instinctively looks up, and in the distance, they spot a giant portal opening in the sky. From it, zombies, the plane, and everyone else tumble out. Among them, Kiren falls from the portal and sees Jasee holding onto Nhia, drifting deeper into the swirling dimension.
The portal begins to close as they free fall from the sky. Meanwhile, the plane swoops by, propelled forward by Copycat's magic.
Below, Jean carries Simbad on his back, sprinting with incredible speed. Above them, Megan bounces off a falling zombie, her eyes widening as she spots Michael and Rune unconscious during their free fall. "Hold on, I'm coming!" she shouts, diving faster toward them and dodging the other zombies plummeting through the sky.
She manages to grab both Michael and Rune in her arms, pointing her legs downward in an attempt to use her wind magic to slow their descent. "Come on, work!" she pleads, but their fall speed proves too great.
Meanwhile, Kiren is also in free fall, smashing through zombies with his hammer as he descends. Suddenly, Huey expands its form, catching Kiren mid-air. "Yes! This is perfect!" Kiren realizes, understanding that being inside Huey means they'll have a softer landing. "Huey, get the others!" as he points at them.
Huey begins to expand its slimy form, diving closer to Megan and the others. Zombies continue to fall into Huey's body, and Kiren kicks them out one by one. Just then, Kiren spots the jet zombie soaring after the near by plane.
The jet zombie fires a barrage of missiles at the plane. Copycat quickly uses her magic, redirecting many of the missiles away from the plane. But as Kiren and Huey gets closer to Megan and the others, one missile veers in their direction.
"No!" Kiren shouts, but it's too late. The missile strikes Huey's body, causing a massive explosion that sends Kiren and Huey flying far away from Megan and the others.
Jean carries Simbad right below where Megan and the others are falling. With determination, Simbad focuses, channeling his magic upwards. "I can help!" he shouts, his hands glowing as he casts a spell.
Meanwhile, Megan draws on her magic, struggling to tap back into her Shining Star spell. "Come on, come on!" she urges herself, but she can't use it freely like before. Only sparks of light magic flicker around them.
In a burst of frustration, she screams, pouring her energy into casting wind magic beneath her feet. "We need to slow down!" she yells, her voice filled with determination. Simbad continues to channel his magic to reduce their fall.
As their magic combines, a shimmering barrier forms around them, cushioning their descent. With a soft thud, they land on the ground, bruised but safe.
Kiren and Huey land softly nearby, and they all watch as the jet zombie continues to chase the plane through the sky. Meanwhile, inside the plane, Copycat is exhausted from overusing her magic to redirect the seemingly endless missiles.
Her men form a line, their expressions somber. "We're glad to serve under you, Copycat," one of them says. "We wished we could've reached Nemura City and met with the other cats, but it seems we're destined to fall here."
Copycat, fueled by determination despite her fatigue, yells, "Devil Cats forever!" The others echo her sentiment, their voices ringing out in solidarity.
Suddenly, a barrage of missiles strikes the plane, causing a series of explosions in the sky. The damaged plane spirals out of control, crashing into Sky City. The jet zombie cackles triumphantly, continuing to fire more missiles at the wreckage, creating thousands of explosions throughout the city.
"Such beautiful art!" the jet zombie exclaims, relishing the chaos. It soars higher into the sky, watching the city burn below. With each missile fired, it envisions its masterpiece expanding across the world of Terra and release millions of missiles that begins their route across the world.
But then, a sudden sense of fear grips the jet zombie as it spots a dome of purple magic enveloping the entire city. "What is this?! Is this fear that I'm feeling?!" it shouts in disbelief. The millions of missiles, stripped of their magical energy, begin to lose altitude, plummeting downward and causing further explosions.
Simbad and Megan quickly use their magic to block the incoming explosions, while Kiren raises his shield, and Huey expands its slimy body to provide additional protection. Just then, Ezzy and the others appear behind them, and Ezzy focuses her energy, redirecting the flames outward to keep them all safe.
Meanwhile, in the city, the jet zombie crashes into the burning streets. The purple dome of magic begins to shrink, tracing back to Adam, who strides through streets covered in flames with determination. He grips his bat tightly, the weight of his loss heavy on his heart.
As he approaches the trembling jet zombie, it shakes in fear, confused about what has just transpired. "I should have never gotten sidetracked," Adam declares, his voice steady but filled with pain. "Because of you and I, I lost all my friends and family. They were all I had left to keep me sane. But with them gone, I've lost all purpose to care anymore."
His eyes shine brightly with rage, and a surge of magic radiates from him. White scales begin to emerge on his skin, mirroring the transformation of his bat. The once soft hues of his eyes shift to a fiery red, filled with a sinister intensity. Adam's aura grows darker, enveloping him in an overwhelming power.
As all the jet parts of the zombie fall away, it trembles and sinks to its knees, transforming back into a regular pilot zombie. Adam stands before it, swinging his bat with fierce determination. In an instant, the flames throughout the city die out, and on impact, the zombie explodes into a shower of gore.
He glances at the blood staining his bat, a frown crossing his face. "That was not a satisfying kill," he mutters, his disappointment evident. Raising his bat, a massive surge of magic envelops him, and he grips it tightly, ready to unleash his rage on the city.
The darkness within him swells, filling his eyes and leaking down his face, spreading like a shadow. Panic grips him as he breathes heavily, falling to his knees. A heart-wrenching scream escapes his lips, echoing throughout the ruined city.
The darkness completely engulfs his face, and in that moment, he becomes emotionless, his arms dropping to his sides. Memories of his life flash before his eyes, scenes of laughter, love, and loss blending into a whirlwind of emotion.
Suddenly, Copycat emerges in her original form, stealthily approaching Adam. She places a hand on his shoulder, her excitement barely contained as she gazes at the broken Adam. "This is incredible," she whispers, her eyes gleaming. "With your power, I could do so much more."
A magical cat emerges from the top of Copycat's head, gracefully walking around Adam's body before slipping inside his head. Closing her eyes, Copycat feels her cat ear tattoos glow with magic as a magical tail sprouts from her backbone.
As her confident smile shifts to a nervous one, she opens her eyes to witness the magical cat crawling out of Adam's body, its form cloaked in swirling black magic. Confusion washes over Copycat; this is the first time she has seen her magic behave this way.
The black cat turns to her and lets out a fierce roar, charging at Copycat. "What—?" she exclaims, she catches the black cat in her hands, feeling the sinister magic emanating from it. A wave of fear grips her as the cat forcefully enters her head.
Suddenly, her body stiffens, and she grows a second black tail. "No! What's happening?!" she gasps, her voice trembling as darkness spreads across her face and envelops her body.
As the darkness fades from Adam's face, he awakens, shocked to see Copycat transforming into a humanoid, two-tailed black cat. Her red circle eyes open wide, and she roars, her body contorting in grotesque ways that are unbearable to watch.
The transformation continues as she morphs into a giant black ball, folding and rolling in place until it begins to bend space itself, becoming a swirling black hole. Adam stares into the depths of this void, feeling an overwhelming sense of awe and fear as it slowly begins to close.
Suddenly, Adam hears the faint beeping of a vehicle in the distance. He follows the sound and, to his surprise, sees the RV. Relief washes over him as he spots everyone safe and sound. He falls to his knees, overwhelmed, as his friends and family rushes to hug him tightly.
Mai then explains to him about what all happen during the battle at the airport.
Kiren adds in "Nhia's with Jasee in another dimension, by the way, I wonder if this is what he wanted."
Rune walks around, his brow furrowed in thought. "I felt something earlier, a kind of magic that was out of this world," he says, glancing at Adam.
"I felt it too," Jean chimes in, his expression serious. "It was similar to Henry's magic."
Adam's heart races at the mention of Henry. Memories flood back to when Henry casted the darkness from his heart during their battle. Realizing that the black hole and the darkness from Henry's heart was similar.
Just then, they hear a laugh and the sound of clapping nearby. Adam stands, gripping his bat tightly. "My instincts are telling me to run," he warns, scanning the area.
Everyone draws their weapons, their senses heightened. As they look down the street, they see a man dressed in a suit, wearing a hat and a clown mask, strolling casually toward them with a cane.
Adam's heart sinks as recognition dawns on him. "I've seen him before… back when I was fighting Henry in the magical realm of the floating city," he mutters.
The man stops a few feet away, a sinister grin spreading beneath the mask. "Ah, what a delightful reunion!" he announces theatrically. "I am Joker, a Sentinel of the Pack. It's a pleasure to finally meet you all."
Adam takes a step forward, his grip on the bat tightening. "State your business," he demands, his eyes locked onto Joker's mask.
Joker chuckles softly, adjusting his hat with a theatrical flourish. "Ah, such a serious tone! I'm here in search of my champion," he replies, his voice smooth and playful. "The battle in this city was quite loud, but what truly drew me here is the power of true darkness."
He pauses, a glint of interest in his eyes. "A glimpse of it appeared here, but alas, I was too late to witness it in all its glory. The world of Terra has already corrected itself to fix its distortion of space. Fascinating, isn't it?"
Joker's gaze shifts to Jean, a sly smile forming beneath his mask. "But never mind that! What truly piques my interest is that my champion lies deep within this boy." He points directly at Jean, his eyes sparkling with intrigue.
