"He... He's in that room."
Falcone pointed out with a stiff expression.
It was his original bedroom, but now it looked like it had been attacked.
He couldn't understand if the world had changed or if there were just so many monsters now. The headquarters of the gang where even babies stopped crying seemed like a playground where they could come and go freely.
"Batman?"
Seeing the gliding figure, David's eyes narrowed, but he was quickly drawn to another figure.
Besides the shattered window, a shirtless figure looked grim, waving away the irritating smoke and contemptuously looking down at the fleeing figure as if watching a bug that couldn't escape his grasp.
It was Eric.
David turned his head and glanced at Falcone.
Batman was probably here to cause trouble for Falcone, but he had mistaken his target.
'He suddenly realized that it wasn't an aging gang boss but a creature that even a bat dart couldn't penetrate.'
Whoosh!
The wind whistled in his ears.
The memory material made into a cloak turned into bat wings when electrified, allowing him to glide down. Bruce, wearing the bat hood, looked serious and turned to look back.
With the multitude of Gotham's gangsters and criminals, he felt he should target a few of the most notorious ones to strike a blow and suppress Gotham's dark forces.
So today, he broke into the mansion of one of the top gang bosses, Falcone, intending to beat him up and take him away, leaving him with only his underwear, tied to the Bat-signal, as an example for Gotham's criminals to see.
'But why would there be a stranger in Falcone's bedroom?'
Batman's brow furrowed, feeling a slight discomfort in his throat.
Just as he was about to ask, the young man appeared in front of him, gripping his neck and lifting him off the ground with a strength greater than that of an elephant.
'A knife struck that guy's neck, but it felt like hitting high-density rubber, and my hand hurt from the recoil.'
When he was questioned about his identity, he quickly used the bat belt's tear gas launcher on the guy before escaping through the window.
He also threw a bat-shaped magnetic explosive dart.
Originally used to blow open buildings to create an escape route, the bat dart surprisingly did not inflict any damage on the person.
As he glided down, Bruce tried to find any signs of injury on the man, but there were none to be found.
Suddenly, the shirtless figure in front of him disappeared from his sight, as if a frame had been removed from the world, which was there one moment and gone the next.
'Why did he disappear?'
Bruce's heart tightened as he landed and rolled to dissipate the impact. He was about to leave as there was important information he hadn't yet uncovered, such as the identity of the young man.
However, another figure suddenly appeared, grabbing him and lifting him off the ground. Eric's voice sounded disdainful.
"Where do you think you're running to, freak?"
As Eric tightened his grip, Bruce couldn't breathe, his face turning red from the strain as he reached for his belt.
With lightning speed, Eric snatched away his tear gas canister, holding Bruce while toying with the cylindrical device, a smirk on his face.
"The same trick, do you want to play it in front of me again?"
Boom!
A muffled sound.
A figure dropped from the fifth floor without any cushioning, like a heavy object falling from the sky, cracking the stone slabs, sending debris flying and smoke billowing.
Both of them looked in that direction.
"How is this possible?"
Eric's brow furrowed.
Since gaining his abilities, smoke no longer obstructed his vision.
In his line of sight, a tall figure stood in place, with strong muscles clinging tightly to his bones. He had jumped from the fifth floor as if he had suffered no injuries.
The estate already had streetlights, and after the previous commotion, the rooftop lit up as if a searchlight had been installed, illuminating the estate like daylight.
In the dust, there stood a figure. Bruce felt like he had seen this scene before.
"Who are you?"
As the dust settled, David's figure appeared in the light.
"So it's you."
Bruce felt that Gotham would not be hiding so many terrifying predators.
Eric and David were classmates, and he should have known David, but right now he looked different.
"How did you do it?"
Noticing that David's physical abilities far surpassed those of an ordinary person, Eric's face turned dark as he casually threw Bruce aside.
"My back..."
Crashing into a corner of a flower bed, Bruce's face contorted in pain, clutching his back.
"Get him!"
Eric gestured, and the gangsters gathered and grabbed Batman, while Eric kept his eyes fixed on David. He was now more interested in this person in front of him, who seemed to have abilities beyond an ordinary human. He asked in a low voice, "You have powers like me. How did you do it?"
Hearing Eric's tone of narcissism but also filled with uneasiness, David sneered.
"Anyway, I wasn't struck by lightning!"
"How do you know?"
For some reason, Eric felt a familiar sense about this stranger and looked him up and down with a change in his expression.
This was his biggest secret, how could this stranger know?
Could there be more than one person who gained abilities through lightning?
Growl, woof...
Bang, boom!
Batman fought with a group of gangster killers and hounds that surrounded him like a tide. Despite his injuries, he was dangerously surrounded, but in his evasive maneuvers, he finally caught a familiar scent.
This was the Gotham he recognized as normal.
Those two guys over there seemed to have come from another world.
"You stole someone else's powers and ran here to act recklessly."
Looking at Eric, who lived in a mansion, was surrounded by henchmen, and seemed to live a comfortable life, David's voice was as cold as the wind blowing down from a snowy mountain.
"I had no choice but to chase you here. If you weren't still useful, I would have killed you right now!"
Unfortunately, he had to keep Eric alive to try and transfer the powers back to Clark. Otherwise, killing him would have been much easier.
Creak!
The sound of grating metal.
"What are you saying?"
Eric seemed to treat him like his underling he could kill at will. In anger, he pulled a streetlight from the side and hurled it at David.
"This is my power!"
The streetlight came with a violent sound, breaking the sound barrier. David stood in place without moving his hands.
Hiss!
Two beams of highly concentrated energy shot out of his eyes, melting half of the streetlight into molten iron that fell down. The other half flew past Eric, causing the wall behind him to collapse.
As if a light breeze had blown by, he remained unfazed, his eyes narrowed. He emitted another burst of energy from his eyes, instantly appearing in front of Eric.
This beam of energy was several times thicker than the one that melted the steel, emanating a terrifying energy fluctuation.
Buzz!
Eric's face changed dramatically as he crossed his arms in front of his eyes. Under the tremendous impact, his legs moved as if pushed by a bulldozer, leaving two deep grooves.
Since gaining his abilities, apart from the meteor, he thought there was nothing and no one on this planet that could harm him. But now, he realized he was wrong.
The intense heat and high temperature, along with the distortion of the surrounding air, caused his arms to feel a burning pain. He couldn't help but scream in pain.
"Ah ah ah..."
The pain felt like being scalded by hot oil. In a panic, Eric quickly moved away from the spot.
He realized that he was not as invincible as he imagined. This guy in front of him came from who knows where, and he could actually harm him. In a state of panic, he had a momentary thought of running away. However, he quickly realized that David's reaction was sluggish, and his head didn't turn quickly enough to follow his movements.
He stopped and stood several dozen meters away from David, staring at him with a vicious cold smile.
"You're strong, but not strong enough. I've discovered your weakness!"
"Oh?"
David laughed.
"And what's my weakness?"
"That you're too slow!"
Time seemed to slow down, and Avery activated his extreme speed. At this moment, the winds flowing through the world also became extremely slow. In a fraction of a blink of an eye, he appeared in front of David, his fist carrying incredible speed and power, aiming to strike his face.
"Speed is power!"
Even though he already possessed immense strength, the punch he threw with speed several times faster than sound was his most powerful attack.
A tremendous force compressed the air, almost turning it into a solid substance. The white wave of air rushed toward David, but he remained motionless, his eyes focused. He then launched a powerful beam of cosmic energy!
Boom!
The ground collapsed, and the earth rolled away like a meteor had struck, leaving behind a crack dozens of meters long, like an earthquake.
The entire estate shook as if caught in a tsunami.
The violent wave of energy swept away all the gangster killers and hounds like weightless paper, and Batman, who had been surrounded by them, used his hook and swiftly moved to hide behind a flower bed, avoiding the shockwaves.
Under the purple surge of energy shockwave, Avery was sent flying, his body glowing red as if scalded by hot oil. He flew uncontrollably for several dozen meters before falling to the ground, clutching his chest, looking at the standing figure in disbelief, unable to help but blurt out, "This is impossible!"
