Chapter 49 - Eric went to Gotham!

"Huh?"

David stared at the disappearing direction of the figure for a few seconds, wondering in his heart.

How could there be a person in Smallville who could be as fast as Clark?

"The direction that guy came from is... Eric's house?"

His face changed rapidly several times, and he suddenly thought of a strange possibility that Clark's ability might not have disappeared temporarily.

"Come on, Clark."

David pulled the confused Clark to the front of Eric's house quickly.

The door was shattered as if hit by a rocket, and the fragments fell to pieces on the grass in front of the house.

A woman's sad cries were heard in the Eric family's house.

"Not good!"

Clark hurried into the room with worries on his face.

Their geography teacher, Summers, was supported to sit on the sofa with a broken forehead, and he looked very weak. Eric's mother, Beth, was crying and was hugging her husband, looking heartbroken, like a mother who lost her child…

Seeing that the two of them were fine, Clark heaved a sigh of relief.

"Aunt Beth, what's the matter?"

David asked, frowning after glancing at the broken wooden door in front of the door.

"Eric has been behaving like a different person since he came back from school yesterday."

Aunt Beth's eyes were red with tears.

"Just now he wanted to run away from home, his father tried to hold him back, but he was thrown away...".

Eric flicked him casually, and Summers flew directly over the dining table, slamming seven or eight meters away and falling on the sofa. If it wasn't for the sofa, he might have broken bones and muscles, been seriously injured, and in the hospital.

Afterward, their son Eric lifted his foot and smashed the door of the house, and a gust of wind was set off amidst a burst of explosions, and he disappeared in the blink of an eye.

Mr. Summers was full of puzzlement, how could his son have such great strength?

"Run away from home? Where did he go?"

Clark beside him hurriedly asked.

He wanted to find the obviously emotionally unstable Eric before he does something irreparably wrong.

"Wait a minute, Clark."

After listening to Beth's narration, David was more sure of the guess in his heart and pulled him back to the door.

"Don't you think Aunt Beth's description is very familiar?"

He frowned and whispered thoughtfully.

"With a defense that keeps him safe from being struck by lightning. He is so powerful and so fast that human eyes can't catch him. Eric may not have acquired the ability through mutation."

"Isn't it a mutation?" Clark didn't understand what his brother meant. Some of these abilities from mutations are amazing and last time Greg also fit this description.

"Just now a figure left the town from this direction at dozens of times the speed of sound."

David's eyes flickered, and he said in a deep voice what he had just seen.

"I'm afraid it's not that coincidental."

He paused and asked back.

"You lost your ability, and Eric happened to mutate to have an ability comparable to yours?"

"What?"

Clark opened his mouth wide in surprise.

"You...you mean, my abilities were transferred to Eric by lightning and meteorites?"

David nodded before hastily running back to the couple and asked where Eric had gone.

"Aunt Beth, Eric is in a very dangerous condition now. Where is he?"

"I don't know."

Beth wiped her tears, her voice still choking with shock from her son's sudden change.

"Eric said he's uncomfortable here and going to a paradise for the powerful. There's no law there, and a large number of people are waiting to be conquered..."

"It should not be far, because he said he'll come back and to wait for him. He said, "When I come back, I will go around this small town and erase everything that makes him uncomfortable"."

She cried and told what her son left before he left.

"At that point, he can do whatever he wants, and nothing in the world can stop him."

"Do whatever he wants?"

David sneered.

Last time, Greg felt that he had started to evolve, and thought he was a superman ahead of anyone in the world. This time, Eric got the ability of a Kryptonian and wanted to be a budget Homelander?

"A paradise for the powerful? There is no law?"

A series of words made people confused, and Clark couldn't think of where it was for a while.

Where is that? A war zone?

David turned his head and looked into the distance, the direction in which the extremely fast figure disappeared, his eyes were dim.

"The answer to the question is simple—Gotham."

"Gotham?"

Clark's expression changed.

...

It is very close to the metropolis, the law is just a decoration for the powerful, and people live their lives numbly. Where else can it be except for Gotham?

After hastily comforting the Summers couple, David and Clark hurried home to tell their parents they had seen and what David suspected.

"You mean that Clark's ability was transferred to Eric by Thunder?"

Jonathan frowned after hearing the news brought back by his two sons.

If this is the case, it would not be good for his son to lose his ability.

"Gotham, that place..."

Martha was a little uneasy.

"If Eric learns something bad after running away from home, and uses this ability to do bad things."

She and Jonathan knew how powerful Clark was, and had been patiently teaching her son so that he would not abuse his talent. This part of the force is used to help the farm save a few people.

Eric suddenly acquired that kind of ability, so he may not be able to maintain his mentality, especially when he went to Gotham, a place where crimes are rampant and have one of the highest crime rates in the United States.

"That's the problem."

David nodded.

"Eric obviously doesn't intend to use this energy to repair fences or plow the land.

He has quite great plans for his future."

A joking expression flashed across his eyes.

Eric said that he would come back and lead someone to erase everything that made him uncomfortable, and then nothing could stop him.

It has to be suspected that that guy may have discovered that meteorites are his weakness.

"Eric must be brought back before he uses my ability to cause huge damage," Clark said, clenching his fists with an ugly face.

He couldn't accept that someone was injured or even died because of his ability.

"But..."

Martha hesitated to speak, how to stop it?

"I might be going on a long trip, Mom and Dad."

After pondering for a few seconds, David raised his head to look at Jonathan and Martha, coughed twice, and said seriously.

"Help Clark clean up this mess and bring Eric back."

He didn't believe that Clark, the future Superman, would permanently lose his abilities. Since abilities can be transferred away by accident, they can also be transferred back.

"David?"

Hearing David's different tone than before, Clark looked at his younger brother, opened his eyes slightly, and vaguely guessed what he wanted to do.

But now that you're showing them, when seeing his strange purple appearance, are you sure the parents won't be more worried?

[Surprise from Clark +1.5, Worry +1.6...]

In fact, not only to help Clark regain his abilities, David's eyes moved slightly towards the system panel.

Since Clark lost his ability, the emotional points provided have shrunk by more than twenty times.

"The main source of emotional points, a gold mine, disappeared, and the ability fusion speed dropped by more than ten times."

If the fusion speed used to be a bicycle, but now it is a turtle crawling, he only got a few new abilities.

"But what are you going to do, son?"

It's a good thing that his son is not afraid of danger, and Jonathan looked at him with worry and concern.

"Use a meteorite."

David took out a thumb-sized meteorite from his pocket.

"Don't..."

Seeing the fatal meteorite, Clark instinctively raised his hands to block the light, but the meteorite did not emit green light, only a faint green fluorescence that cannot be seen during the day.

Without feeling powerless or uncomfortable, he touched his body in surprise.

"I... I'm okay?"

Clark didn't have the reaction he should have, and David wasn't surprised.

Because on the way back, he tried using kryptonite right behind Clark without his knowledge.

"Eric not only has a physique similar to Clark's but also has the same weakness as him."

"But...but, it's still very dangerous."

Martha couldn't see her youngest son taking risks like this.

She was worried about her youngest son traveling alone to Gotham, a place full of criminals, let alone subduing Eric, who has super strength and super speed.

"Don't worry, son."

Jonathan patted David on the shoulder, trying to persuade him.

"Let's sit down and figure out a way first."

It was too reckless for the youngest son to go to Gotham with a meteorite like this.

"Actually, Mom Dad...you don't have to worry about me."

Facing his parents' worried eyes, David opened his mouth.
