Chereads / Slice of Life: Ye Nolisi's Life / Chapter 59 - Life Philosophy

Chapter 59 - Life Philosophy

Ye Nolisi was again thinking of his life choices,

Why did I come into this world? Who was I in the last world on Earth? I even forget what my name or my parents' names were. I even forget more than half of my life on Earth; as time goes forward, the more my memories get hazy, the more I forget. Is this what the brain does to accumulate new memories.

I don't know where I learned, but I know I learned in my last life that the brain has a limited amount of storage. Hence, the brain forgets unnecessary things and remembers only important things. Does it mean my last life is unnecessary? If so, then it's understandable why I'm losing memory, but immortal brains are different. From age 12, the moment when I became First Grade Qi Refining Realm, I almost remember everything, and there are some childhood things I forget I remembered.

So, why do I remember many unnecessary things about this world but forget about my past life? And the first question is, why did I come to this world? What is my proposal for coming into this immortal world?

Ye Nolisi was thinking about the philosophy of life. He felt calm when he thought like this, and he even wanted to write a book about this and let the world know about his life philosophy. However, this world doesn't care about philosophy; this world doesn't have that kind of luxury.

Ye Nolisi got up and used the invincible technique to get invincible. He walked in Yellow Village, and no one could see him. This technique only works against mortals; if there was another Qi Refining, then Ye Nolisi would find out immediately.

Ye Nolisi looked around the village.

"Mother, I want a toy like Thin Kon," A child pulled his mother's dress and asked.

The mother sighed; she looked at the child and, squatting down, patted him on the head. It was light, didn't hurt much, "You are playing all day and don't work at all, also Thin Kon father is rich and working hard, that's why he had a toy; go ask your father to work hard to get you a toy."

"But... Father," The child lowered his head.

Ye Nolisi tilted his head as he looked at the toy child wanted. He saw it was simple box-shaped wood with four sticks attached as limbs.

Ye Nolisi thought that he could make 1,000 such toys in one minute. After some thinking, he decided to create such toys and give them to children.

One Week Later.

Ye Nolisi, again, walks into the village. He saw the toys he had made were at home, and all the children were playing outside. He only saw two children still playing with the toys he had made.

Two Week Later.

Ye Nolisi noticed that many of the toys he made were broken. The stick that worked as limbs were pulled out, and only a wooden box was left.

Three Weeks Later.

None of the children even cared about that toy anymore. Moreover, now that child is begging his mother for clothes. Thin Kon has new and good clothes, but he has clothes he has been wearing for years.

Hm... Although villagers' food needs are fulfilled, they also have safety, and the women's ratio is equally good. Hence, the basic needs of survival are okay. However, children don't understand, and they want more. Some villagers could afford luxury, while some did not. This is the seed of inequality; if I can't control this seed in time, then things will get worse as more people will born in the village. Just like mortal and immortal are two different class, mortals also created poor and rich class.

Ye Nolisi thought, and he tilted his head. After some thought, he decided to return and work on refining his weapon. Soon, he was going to be a father; he didn't need to care about this but focused more on himself and his future child.

Ye Nolisi was thinking of writing a lullaby when his child was born; he could use it to make her sleep.

In moonlit dreams, a whiskered cat,

Softly purring, a gentle pat.

In the night's embrace, it curls and sings,

A lullaby that tenderly springsĀ

"Nolisi, what are you doing?" Ye Mingrui walked into the cave.

She was adorned in a luxurious robe, its sleek black fabric cascading down to her feet. Her dark hair flowed freely around her shoulders, reaching all the way down her back. The long robe enveloped her body, leaving one hand resting gently on her slightly rounded belly. Though still small, it was clear that there was a precious life growing within her.

"Nothing, just making song for a child," Ye Nolisi said, "What is there, girl or boy?"

Ye Mingrui rolled her eyes, and she sighed, "Nolisi, don't be impatient; it will take another month or so to understand if it's a girl or boy."

Ye Nolisi scratched his head and said, "Sorry, it's just if it's a boy, then I can think of things for a boy, but if it's a girl, think about things girls need."

"Just be good to the child, support the child, and provide the child food, a safe place, and guidance for growth," Ye Mingrui thought and said.

"Hmm... Okay, I guess," Ye Nolisi nodded.

Well, this is really more worrying than I thought, and I even hate children who are less than 8 years old. Now, being a father... I really made a mistake being a father at a young age. What fuck was I thinking when I said yes. Fuck it, let's do what I can do; that's the only option I have. Also, hope that my eldest aunt can handle it well; it's also her first time being a mother. However, these immortals are really great; without pills or condoms, they can decide when to get pregnant, and without a doctor or modern technology, they know what gender a baby is.

The Qi Refining Realm was the only realm where such a thing was possible; in the Foundation Building Realm, things changed. Foundation Building Realm was fundamentally an evolution of humans, and at that stage, they were no longer considered human anymore.

That's why, although Foundation Building Realm could know what the gender of the baby is, they don't have control over when to get pregnant. Moreover, the fertility rate of women also decreased in Foundation Building Realm. The higher the realm, the lower the fertility rate gets. It is also recorded in books that true immortals can't give birth to a child; however, they can create life.
