Chapter 24 - Remembering The Forgotten Past_Part 2

Day 3012

Asher's trembling body was held captive by Doctor X's relentless grip, causing his muscles to quiver involuntarily. The room felt suffocating, with an eerie silence enveloping the air, broken only by the distant hum of machinery.

Doctor X (whispering): You see, Asher, pain is the key to unlocking your true potential. Deep within you lies immense untapped power.

Desperate for any sign of his friends, Asher's eyes darted around the room, desperately hoping for a rescue that seemed increasingly unlikely. But the door remained closed, and Asher's hope began to wither away.

Day 3100

Lying on the cold, unforgiving metal table, Asher's body bore the weight of relentless torture. Each passing day brought new experiments designed to push him beyond his limits, to test the boundaries of his powers.

Circling the table, Doctor X's malevolent grin revealed the sadistic pleasure he derived from Asher's suffering.

Doctor X: You are an exceptional specimen, Asher. Your pain fuels my curiosity. Have you not yet realized that your so-called friends have abandoned you? They have left you to your fate.

Gritting his teeth, Asher fought to ignore the searing pain coursing through his battered body. The disbelief at his friends' betrayal weighed heavily on his shattered spirit.

Day 3200

Asher's body, covered in scars and burns, became a testament to the relentless torment inflicted upon him. With each passing day, his spirit grew weaker, fading like a dying ember. He struggled to hold onto memories of his friends' warmth, their unwavering support that had once granted him strength.

Approaching with a syringe filled with an ominous liquid, Doctor X exuded a twisted delight.

Doctor X: It's time for another experiment, my dear Asher. Let's see just how far we can push your limits this time.

Asher's voice was hoarse, barely audible even to himself, as he whispered words of hope.

Asher (to himself): They will come... They will come...

But with each passing moment, doubt gnawed at his resolve. Had he been foolish to cling to the faint hope of his friends' rescue? Had they truly forsaken him?

Day 3250

Asher's body convulsed uncontrollably as electric currents surged through his weary form. Doctor X watched with sadistic satisfaction, savoring every moment of agony he inflicted.

Doctor X: You see, Asher, pain is a magnificent thing. It reveals the true depths of one's power. And you, my dear subject, have so much more to offer.

Tears mixed with the sweat that cascaded down Asher's face, blurring his vision. The pain was unbearable, stretching his endurance to its very limits. Yet, he clung to the flickering hope that his friends would come for him.

Day 3300

Asher's body lay motionless on the sterile table, broken and defeated. The relentless experiments had stripped him of his identity, leaving behind only a hollow shell.

Leaning over him with a sneer, Doctor X reveled in the despair he had wrought.

Doctor X: It seems your friends have forsaken you, Asher. They will never come for you. They never truly cared.

Asher's voice trembled, his defiance reduced to a mere whisper.

Asher (whispering): They will... They will come...

But his words dissipated into the bleak silence, swallowed by the darkness that enveloped him. Days melded together, each one more suffocating than the last, as Asher languished in his torment, his hope fading into the abyss

Day_3374

Asher's body was battered and broken, his spirit on the verge of shattering completely. The experiments had stripped away his identity, leaving him a mere vessel for Doctor X's sadistic desires.

Doctor X approached the table, his eyes gleaming with a perverse delight.

Doctor X: Asher, my dear subject, we managed to achieve a lot using your power, but, unfortunately, I can't awake its full effect by myself. haha, they will take you to the 35th floor, Asher, hahaha, soon you will discover that actually, I was treating you well.

Asher's voice trembled a glimmer of defiance in his eyes.

Asher (whispering): Emma... Lucas...They will come... They will...

But his voice trailed off into silence, lost amidst the darkness that surrounded him. The days stretched on, each one blending into the next, as Asher remained trapped in his torment, his hope fading like a dying ember.

Day_3398

Asher lay on the cold metal table, his body unresponsive to the pain that consumed him.

Doctor X stood over him, a twisted smile playing on his lips.

Doctor X: Sigh, they will take you tomorrow. Asher, What a shame, I will truly miss you

Day 3399

With each agonizing step, Asher's determination grew stronger. Navigating through the labyrinthine corridors, he evaded the watchful eyes of the guards and the prying scrutiny of the doctors. His sole purpose was to reach his friends, to warn them of the impending danger lurking within the facility.

Finally, he arrived at the door to his friends' room, his heart pounding with a mix of anticipation and trepidation. Pushing it open, he entered.

To his surprise and relief, all his friends were gathered there—Lily, Lucas, Caleb, James, Ashly, Emma, Sophia, and the rest of the group.

Sophia: A-Asher...?

Lily: What are you doing here?

Asher: I-I managed to Escape, let's get out of here.

As Asher said he slowly approached his friends. But before he could approach them, an invisible force restrained him. Lucas, tears streaming down his face, spoke with a heavy heart.

Lucas: Asher W-we are sorry. Caleb go bring the guards.

Asher: Lucas, what... what is happening?

Lucas ( teary eyes ):I'm sorry, Asher

Asher ( shocked ): Emma!

With tears brimming in her eyes, Emma spoke softly.

Emma: I'm sorry, Asher... I'm so sorry. You can't leave.

Day 5057

In the foreboding confines of the 35th floor, Asher sat trapped within a labyrinthine machine, his weary body exhausted and wracked with pain. Doctor X approached his presence a haunting reminder of Asher's torment.

Doctor X: Asher, I bring you tidings of great joy. Your friends have left the facility. They have abandoned you, just as I predicted. They will never return.

------

Currently, the room was engulfed in an uneasy tension as the fix women, stood at the door with their weapons trained on Asher. Their eyes bore into him, filled with a mix of sorrow and determination. The weight of their words hung heavily in the air, leaving Asher momentarily speechless.

Serena, her voice trembling with a hint of regret, broke the silence. "Asher, we are sorry but I already know that you were an experiment, and we can't risk letting you leave this facility. You could be dangerous."

Waved's voice wavered as she continued, "We've come too far to let our guard down now. We've fought together, but we can't ignore the truth staring us in the face."

Mara's gaze held a mixture of sadness and determination. "We don't want to do this, Asher, but our priority is the safety of everyone. Hand over the ID card."

Mara's frustration was evident as she added, "We've been through so much, Asher. We trusted you, but we can't ignore the potential threat you might pose. We need to protect ourselves and the mission."

Asher's expression remained cold and unreadable. Silent defiance emanated from Asher as he steadfastly held onto the ID card, refusing to comply with their demands. The women exchanged glances, frustration is evident in their eyes. Time seemed to stretch on, the air thick with unresolved tension.

In a moment of exasperation, Serena's finger tightened on the trigger of her weapon. The resounding crack of gunfire echoed through the room as a bullet tore through the air, aimed towards Asher.

Amid the chaotic hailstorm of bullets, a sudden shimmering darkness materialized in front of Asher. It formed into a solid shield, obsidian black and impenetrable as if woven from the very fabric of shadows. The onslaught of gunfire came to an abrupt halt as the bullets collided with the shield, their momentum halted in an instant.

" Shadow, take control " Asher
