Chapter 4 - Reconnaissance and mustering

After he had carefully revised the data several times Marc put down the tablet. He was looking straight through the air with his mind checking facts and operations. Then his hand reached out to the black old Telefon at the desk. He dialed a number and some seconds later a deep clear voice of a man answered the call:

"Mr Noxx."

Marc layed back in his dark brown leather chair.

"Mr. Leinenberger how was your trip to Johannisburg? We hear strange news about problems in the mines."

"Thank you for asking Mr. Noxx. The trip was a great pleasure. South Africa is a stunning country. I had been to lots of countries but never to Africa before. The country is in a rise, you see lot of wealth and lots of poverty. My research reveiled a massive influence of diffrent factions of the "Swonians". Like always they break up into lots of small forces to overwhelm the country. But mostly it is the same proven strategy which they also exercise on the USA and the EU. The consequence is that it was not difficult to follow the strips and find the power bases. We have the same people in the back like always. Guess they are trying to get the foot into the door of one of the weaker and more open BRICS countries before it is to late to establish footholds. Concerning the 5 years plan of the BRICS this will be no problem at all. Operations here are funded mostly be venture capital of developement banks, again a sign of the "Swonians".

"Do you see the necessity to calibrate our actual mode of conduct?"

"No not at all. It is all hollow and will break in if pushed at the right place and we yet planted the C-4 at their primary pillar. Anyways due to the BRICS effort to fund the currency again by gold it became more difficult to expand our precious metals branch. Anyways a good word at the right place had increased our market share to 21,6% which means we have yet exceeded our plan for the year. BUT... cost for acquisition have increased by 43%."

"I have read the reports. Don´t worry, it will soon pay off. Crucial operations have to be finished successfully, unrelated to the costs."

"I am glad to hear this Sir. But anyway, I am sure you did not call me to talk about my travels. How can I help you?"

"You will be happy to hear that I authorised order 29. Please check if the requisitions for this order are still true and initiate the first release if conditions are inside the stated parameters. I also activated Project V today. The project leader will contact you the next days. It is your prime responsibility to make Project V successful, but it has to be lead and installed by the project leader. I told her to call you."

"Her? To whom you gave this project Sir?"

"Nicole Baratelli."

"Well your sense for talents is great like always. She is probably the most useful and forgeable of your assistants."

"Yes, I expect you to support her. Let her make the decisions. We will see her project plan soon. I gave her a week to present it. I am sure I will get it in two days the latest."

An amused laughter was heard on the other side of the phone.

"Most certainly you have it tomorrow. She will not sleep today. I knew she was running below her capabilities the last months."

"We need a steady increasing, not a quickburner who gets over-confident after half a year. She needed time to adopt. She was suspicious to our way to organise, but her curiosity had been enough to stay. And the money of course."

"She will soon appreciate our structure when she is leading a project which will come to public awareness soon. There will rise a lot of people to oppose her. The church is still a problem."

"The church!", Marc laughed,"they allowed transgender marriages! Our risk analysis identified the church as the most steady opposing force to this shit which destoys our society and drowns people into a swirl of disorientation and chaos. The church itself has become weak. They also have been invaded. I wonder what the Jesuites are up too but we will hear soon about it."

"I have a meeting with Rafaello in Brescia next week. Do you have adjustments to his current mission?"

"No not yet. I think he is doing all right. If the cleanse of the actual students is carried out thoroughly we will see the reverse of this "reforming" trend in the church during the coming years."

"Alright then, I will check the conditions for order 29 and prepare the funding and activation of the ressources."

"I have made some minor adjustments to not interfere with Mr. Pings agenda. The public reveal of shaylas actions as an assault on EU fashion market will add to make him stay calm. Anyways the operations are so diverse that it is not possible to track them to a single origin. Mr. Leinenberger, have a good night and my sincere regards to Mrs. Leinenberger and your kids."

"Thank you Sir. I am sure Mrs. Leinenberger would be happy to welcome you again to our house. It has been three years since your last visit."

"I think about it. We talk tomorrow. Good night."

"Good night Sir."

Nicole came back to her office. She shared an office with Janine Schneider. Like always Janine was drooling over documents. Her head rests upon her left hand and she was mindlessly chewing on her black biro while she mumbled not understandable words to herself in a low voice. Her azure colored Iphone laid besides her on the desk and played pop music on low volume. Janine was a strange women. Her age was undefinable. She might be 25 or 40 years old, most certainly something in between. Her pale skin was untainted and she carried a bright red Lipstick applied with asian 3 point technique. Her long black hair fell in thick strands over her shoulders on both sides and covered her chest. Soft light red eye shadow surrounded her blue eyes and in combination of the even colored rouge draw attention of at least all men eyes to her face. She wore a traditional white blouse and a short pencil skirt. She looked up when Nicole entered, smiled at her and waved her to come to her desk.

Nicole and Janine came along quite well. Both of them were of a very kind nature. They liked to help people and had a positive attitude. When Nicole joined the company Janine immidiately cared for her and showed her around. They often went to dinner together and Nicole had found a reliable friend and colleague in her. Both of them were used to work a lot alone over documents, spead sheets and lists. Janine had joined the company three years before Nicole did. She was hired as marketing strategic specialist. But she was not directly hired by Marc Noxx and also had her interview with HR of "Rhein Marketing". She worked 2 years for "Rhein Marketing". Then one day when she left work and entered the elevator down to the underground parking lot Marc Noxx and Wilhelm Leinenberger joined into the lift. She did not know both of them but Mr. Noxx said hello to her and shoke her hand and asked her name and where she was working. She immidiately recognized both had to be at least members of the board of managers. The younger of both, Mr. Noxx was very charismatic. She was immidiately drawn to him and his powerful appearance. Mr Leinenberger radiated an aura of authority and competence. He introduced Janine to Mr. Noxx as "Mrs. Schneider our rising star in strategic ressource acquisition and reliability screening." Mr. Noxx nodded gently and scanned her with his eyes from the feet to the top of her head and then said:"Bring her over to NEIG." Mr. Leinenberger nodded and next day she got an appointment to HR where she received a new contract in combination with a massive increase in her wage. Her assignement was an experimental job which was created for her. She created matches for personality archetypes and loyality enforcing measures. Those measures were divided in diffrent sectors of severity and invasion. It took her several months and a lot of research but she never had such a thrilling task which combined her specialities psychologie and marketing in such an unique and experimental way. She was almost left alone during these times. No one was asking for progress or even when she comes or left work. After two month she got the offer to move to an appartment close to the Noxx building by an internal wrong sent email which was only meant for manager positions. She boldly applied for it and got lucky. From then on she lived in an luxury appartment in the Frankfurt banking area downtown. Her live quality had increased a lot since she changed to NEIG.

When Janine was told she was going to get a colleague in her office she was not very happy about it because she prefered to be alone while working. But the day she finally met Nicole all doubts left her. During her first few conversations Nicole asked Janine for how long she was working at Noxx equity and investments group. After she told her that she was working on her actual position for about one and a half year nicole asked her how she liked her job. Janine was enthusiastic. It had been the best that ever happened to her. The company was great. her salary uncomparable and her working times flexible. Then with lower voice and a certain smile she told nicole that she might be lucky to meet the head of NEIG, Mr. Noxx himself. Janine praised him enthusiastically with sparkling eyes. Nicole laughed at her quite child-like affection for this man and told her that she was also very impressed by him and that she had her interview with him. Janine immidiately stopped and looked curiously at her and asked about her position. Nicole told her about the interview and that she will be his assistant.

During the next month when those two women worked in the office Janine was very commited and focussed on her work. Nicole on the other hand was bored and only had small easy tasks like welcoming special quests, planing appointments and trips for Mr. Noxx and Mr. Leinenberger. Nicole regularly came over to Janine and asked her if she could be of any help for her because she had no tasks at the moment. One day when they were at dinner Nicole complained a little frustrated to Janine that she had no work at all and that an apprentice could do her little work. She had a master in finance and experience at a private bank for about 4 years. Janine build her up and assured her that there was something for her. She told her about the job that was created for her. Most certainly Mr. Noxx was up to something and hired her for a future task which would most certainly unrole soon. That conversation happened 10 days ago.
