Chapter 1 - Prologue

"Sorry"

This was the last word Ella had chanted under her breath. No, she was not sorry for herself; she was sorry for the man who had loved her more than his own life. The man who would have buried the whole world if it turned on her. The man she had followed for as long as she could remember. She, Ella, was sorry to have misunderstood him. She knew she'd hurt him, but it was too late.

A handsome and charming face flashed across her eyes. Tears streamed down her face.

Ella regretted everything she had done. Because of her stubbornness, she had made one wrong decision which ruined everything. Ella could not even remember why she'd decided to run away as opposed to speaking with him.

Someone she had trusted blindly had deceived and betrayed her. Ella gave everything to her sister, everything she wanted, but in the end, it was her sister who stabbed her in the back.

Because of her sister's deceit, Ella had hurt the man who loved her unconditionally. Because she was foolish, she'd lost him for good.

'If there should be another life, a second chance, Xavier I promise to love, and trust only you unconditionally. If.' Ella mocked herself as she laid on the cold, wet ground in a dead-end alley way.

Ella was taking her last breathes, and all she wished for was see Xavier's face once more, but her last wish would go unanswered.
