'Finally I managed to do it'.Max grew more and more exited and he held the pendant in his hand.Heavens only knew how much sweat he had put in to uncover the secrets it held.
He had been pushed by someone into a hole during a school outdoor camp where he had to wander around for two days before chancing upon a cavern which held an old skeleton,a pendant and a book.
And what he found in the book made him question if the writer was even crazy.Talking about immortals,dao and other stuff but he believed it when he started to practice some of the exercises in the book which the writer termed as immortal and martial techniques.
There were so many of them and upon practicing a body technique for two days he realized that his body did get stronger.
Finally he found a way out of through the cave and went back to the university but since then he never paid much attention to studies but instead spent the rest of his time trying to figure out the secrets of the pendant because his intuition told him that it was the most precious thing present.
And after wasting nearly three years of his university life he finally managed to unlock some of its secret when he nearly died exploring a ruin and got his blood smeared on it.

"You can understand me right? so can you send me to a planet with those cool immortals and flying swords with beautiful fairies" max asked the pendant whiles he began to to fantasize about himself wearing an expensive looking daoist robe riding a sword across the sky looking cool with a cold and aloof temperament.
"No it does not work that way.The coordinates cannot be chosen at will unless it's a planet you have already been to you can only be sent to a random planet,besides I have lost a lot of energy over the years and can only send you to a lower level world or mid level world.
The pendant ruthlessly crushed Maxwell's dreams before he could continue with his fantasies.
"Can't you just gather energy and give me
more options to choose from?" max quickly asked again determined to find a way to choose the planet he has to go to.
"That's not possible this planet lacks the spiritual energy of the universe "the pendant answered back again.
Max was disappointed but quickly came back to his senses and began to think well after all he only had one chance and if he made a hasty decision without much thought he could lose his life.
"Damn it what other option do I have?I've already wasted my university time and I know I will definitely receive some garbage certificate with nothing to show for, how am I going to find a way to cure my sister?". thinking of his sister his expression couldn't help but soften.
His only family was his mother and sister and his sister was born with a weak constitution making her prone to several. diseases.Remembering her his determination only solidified.
"Alright I'll take my chance by the way what's your name I don't know what to call you".
"Call me anything you want in the future" the pendant now replied back.
"Then it's Aryar I'll call you by" max randomly gave a name that came to mind.
"Now am bound to you and am now yours, I will will do anything I can to help you but because of the lack of energy most of my functions are limited" aryar replied back making max feel even more helpless because there was nothing he could do about the loss of the so called spiritual energy on earth.
"So what can you do, there must be at least something you can give me right?" max asked back hoping to get something.
"well there is something you can use as, you should know am a void treasure I can provide you with a basic storage space of about 30 cubic square to store things".
"At least we have something to work with now I have to prepare as much as I can for the transmission" max regained some cheerfulness when aryar talked about the 30 cubic space because now he could carry around a lot of things and increase his survival rate.
With that max gathered all the money he had left which was only about 10,000 alliance dollars which he had earned from working partime whiles he was in college his mother sarmatha supported he and his sister alone and he didn't want to burden her so he mostly worked to earn a little whiles in school and besides he was a person who loved money, with the stash he had he bought all the things he needed including rice,meat,canned,medicine for some diseases,foods,tougher clothes etc after all he had space for them with about 30 cubic square to spare and who knew how long he might spend in the other world.
After buying everything he needed he had to think about protecting, though he practiced the exercises he found from daoist Qin the process was slow because he was not compatible with the technique and he also had poor aptitude for martial arts and besides he himself was a coward after all ehem if he died who would take care of his family?, Sometimes a man needed to be a coward to survive max comforted himself with this…..
"Looks like I have to ask Jake for some help" max had a helpless expression on his face as he thought of that friend of his.
Jake was a childhood friend who due to poor upbringing had himself surrounded with bad company, he quit his education during high school and now engaged himself in some shady business.
Max wanted to see if he could get his hands some guns after all a gun was the best kind of protection you could get in any situation.He took his phone and dialed his number.
Jake: "Hello, is this you max it's been long why did you call me do you need something?"
Max: "what can't I call a brother to check up on him"
Jake: "stop your bullshit you only call me when you need something"
Max:"well this time I need your help with something I was wondering if you have a way I can get some"
Jake:"shit man are u in trouble? just tell me I can help out don't go around playing with guns or your mom is gonna kill me".
Max :"stop joking around am not in any kind of trouble but I need them for something.
Seeing max unwilling to explain Jake got quiet and began to think just when max got nervous thinking he was not going to help him Jake spoke again
"well I have a source tell me what you want I could get it for you well depending on the money you have of course"
Pheww max took in sigh of relief and relaxed for a while he thought Jake was going to reject him.
"well I have about two thousand alliance dollars" max replied back.
"that's not enough you know the gun control is very strict in the alliance those fancy big families are the only ones who have some,tell you what I can get you a Glock 17 9mm pistol with some extra mags and bullets and a decent shotgun with ammunition, the money can cover for the pistol and consider the shotgun as a gift it's from my personal collection".Jake took some time to come up with a way to help his friend out.
"How about an assault rifle" max asked with some anticipation hoping to get his hands on some of that.
"Haaa who do you think i am? an arms dealer? you better forget about that one the cheapest one costs about five thousand alliance dollars plus you would have have to buy the ammo". jake had a tinge of amusement in his voice when he heard what max said.
With some embarrassment max thickened his skin and gave a small cough after all this time he was really being thick skinned.
"alright I'll meet you with the stuff by 7 pm tonight bring the money with you." and with that Jake hanged up.
"Now adding that sword and crossbow I have in the basement I have a sword and small crossbow,handgun and a shotgun yeh i think am now ready".
Previously when he first found the pendant and martial arts book he had been obsessed with martial arts and had bought a sword and crossbow for practice. Though he sucked with a sword he had a decent marksmanship with the crossbow and that's why he wanted a gun
